How safe is the hotel, in terms of leaving belongings in the room? I'll have some camera gear with me, as well as laptop, etc. I'm wondering if I should book a room at another hotel for storing things and sleeping, and then book a room at Del Rey for fun.

I'll be heading to San Jose next week. In doing research from this fantastic website and posts, I love the hotels / brothels that have been suggested. Definitely the Hotel Del Rey and Sportsman Lodge are on top of the list. I love having a great time in strip clubs and look forward to what San Jose has to offer. I've been to Tijuana and appreciate the level of wildness there, and hope that San Jose can surpass that. I am looking into visiting Pantera Rose, Alcasar, Pirate Club and Taverna VIP. I like that some of the strip clubs open around noon time and can walk to these places and see the city during the day. At night, taking a cab will definitely be the plan. Something that I noticed on WorldTravel69's (thank you for everything!) map is the Peluqueria Bikini, which is advertised as a topless haircut place. I live in the US and no such place would ever exist and I'm kinda intrigued by this place. Has anyone visited it and is it worth it. After a haircut, is pussy on the menu too? Thanks Gents!

If you're looking for a strip club similar to Hong Kong Club in Tijuana, I think you'll be disappointed. Not familiar with anything like that at this point. Anyone know differently?

Saturday and Wednesday were definitely the best nights at the Del Rey; plenty of girls to choose from. On Wednesday and Thursdays; beers are 1,000 colones.
