I have been 74 countries.
The only country I needed to carry my passport was in Quito, Ecuador to get into a few clubs.
They would not except my photocopy of the first two pages of my passport that I had sealed in plastic.

Posts: 10Other hotels near Del Ray
Without going into unnecessary details, what are some (if any) hotels within a block or so if Del Ray? I am being dropped off and I'd rather not be dropped off at the Del Ray.

Posts: 333They'll ask for $100 and take $60 or $80.
I find that it's always best to use colones. I get colones from the ATM at the airport and offer 40 k with a 10 k tip and taxi, and no problem. SL is fine but the girls get kind of old. Nothing like the Del Rey. Happy hunting!

Posts: 50First Time to Costa Rica
Hey fellas,
So I'll be heading to Costa Rica after the Superbowl and wanted to some to get some more info. I will be staying at the Del Rey and just wanted to get the current policy in regards to the ladies coming up to the room. Also I hear uber is the cheaper and more reliable mode of transportation if I wanted to go anywhere, is that true or doesn't really matter?

If you're on a budget this is the place to be. 15,000 colones media hora. Pay an extra 5,000 for backdoor action. Rooms not the tidiest but do the job. Asked for some culo action and got my ass licked. Make yourself clear. LOL!

Posts: 44 days at hotel Del Rey
First Visit to Costa Rica. It was slow because of Christmas but I had a blast. I Stayed at Del Rey. Thanks to this Forum for the guidance. I would just like to add few more tips (Some for if you Stay at Del Rey).
- Do not change your currency at the Airport. Del Rey has better rate (You can convert at Casinos) plus the Bank is literally in One block which has slightly better rate. I made the mistake changing in Airport.
- Take Uber from Upstairs (departure) . Its cheaper.
- Do not pay for drink in Dollar. They will give you change in colnes. Use colnes everywhere.
- Negotiate Chica in colnes not in Dollar. You will pay more if you pay in Dollar.
- From Morning till 2 pm you can even get a chica for between 25 mil-30 mil. Afternoon, evening Max I paid 35 mil (Roughly $61). They will always ask you $100. Sit with them buy a drink. Talk about them and their family then negotiate.
- Lot of these girls take a long bus ride (one mentioned took 6 hours bus ride to make some money here) and some are relatively new and shy. They usually sit in Casinos. I had better luck with them then the one always in the bar and very talkative. What I found they ones talks too much are very professional and clock watcher (Just my personal opinion).
- Lot of these girls understand basic English and some not at all. My Spanish is horrible. Download google Translate.
- Be Specific what you want and make sure they understand.
- If you are in a budget or not. Don't eat at hotel. They are expensive. From the hotel if you make a left in 2 blocks they have all kind of restaurants (Mcdonalds, Subway, Starbucks Pizza-hut etc) . There is a Tica Burger next to the hotel. Very reasonable price.
- Ask for extra towel when maid cleans your room. You will need it.
- 2 occasion I picked up girl around 1 am at night and asked them to stay over. They stayed till morning. Paid them 45 mil for the whole night. One girl was telling me after 3 am. They usually book one cheap hotel room & 5-6 girls share the room together. So they may prefer spend the night with you rather sharing a room. YYMV.
- Treat them well. Be nice. If she is spending the night buy her breakfast. I read somewhere these girls like chocolate and music. I kept some chocolate in the room and some Imperial beer. I always offered them both and always put some music.
- Hotel is very strict about security (which was nice) . Chica fee is 6 mil and manager was telling me some girls are blacklisted because they were rude with customer or doing drugs / trying to sell drugs. So these girls are safe in your room. They (hotel) copy their ids and keep all the record.
- If you need to withdraw money next block has am / pm grocery store. They have ATM.
Hope it helps!
