There are at least 4 short term hotels right in downtown san jose that will rent by the hour, usually about $12 for 2-3 hours.

Wanted to say thanks to Cultureshock for the quick reply with intel on the Presidente alternatives. I will definitely use the info and will let you know how it turns out. If you are ever in the Baltimore Md area let me know I'll hook you up with digits to a good time! Thanks again!

The above link has photos of the ST hotels and there is a Google Map. The Hotel Asia is just right around the corner from the Del Rey.

The name. Asia is pronounced a little different in Spanish than in English, so the girls will have no idea what you are talking about unless you can learn how to pronounce Asia in Spanish.

I'm coming to the CR on Saturday and had previously stayed at presidente because it was a nicer and chica friendly. I booked it again to be told by the front desk they now have a list with 6000 names on it and if the girls name is on it she can't come in? WTF?

It's too late to change the reservation now so can someone tell me if I can get a room at the sportsman, or del Rey just for an hour or two? Or is there away to to get the chicas upstairs at the presidente?

It's been a while since I've been to SJO. A couple of newbies want to experience the life, but are afraid to venture any further south than CR so I've agreed to return after a five year absence. Used to stay at the Presidente and usually stayed in the Master Suite. I kinda remember hearing somewhere that the hotel is no longer chica friendly, is this true? Remembering my last trip, they had a dress code for chicas that was kinda a pain in the ass, but still manageable.

If they are no longer on the monger list, what other hotels or accommodations would you recommend that have the same type of set up as the Master Suite and still located near ground Zero? Sportsmans? Amistad? Others? Pluses and minuses of a recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

Also, in monger life, five years is a long time-a lifetime actually! Knowing that there will be changes, are there any that we should be aware of? Glad to hear Idem is still around, and HLH is still there as well, but what about el Pueblo, Jazz Club, etc. Has the Park Hotel (Liquor in the front poker in the rear) been replicated or will it remain a memory?

I also was a huge Presidente fan- stayed there for several years. The answer is No, not chica friendly- numerous reports of issues. The Sportsman's has a very nice 2 person suite with 2 jaccuzzis, La Amistad also has a good sized penthouse with a seperate room that can be rented that opens to it. I think there are a couple of suites there. Both are great places to say, with the Amistad being a more "normal" hotel, and Sportsman's being more of a boys club / brothel (well, that sounds harsh, it is great as well).

Idem now is 65 bucks a session- far too much for an MP if you ask me. Park Hotel is long gone.

Idem is still there and in my opinion has the highest quality girls of any massage parlor in San Jose. About five blocks down from the Del Rey.

That was my opinion when I was there years ago. Glad to see things haven't changed. And if people here aren't talking about it. All the better. Hope to be back soon.

Has anybody stayed at the Apartotel Suites Cristina? Is is chica friendly? I am going with a couple of friends and this looks like a good place.

I stayed there once. I rented 2 suites one for me and my novia and another for her mom and kids. Its close to the airport near Park Sabana. It was nice, a nice little pool and free breakfast. HOWEVER. They have some sort of agreement with the Hospital nearby that does stem cell transplants and there are many paraplegics in wheel chairs who stay there with family's. It was depressing watching all this suffering. If you like this area a better pick would be the Real right around the corner from the Christina and there is a casino attached.

A Tale of Two Mongers.

GREAT REPORT! I did almost the same thing on a smaller scale last Nov. Only 4 guys. We used Jaco VIP and ended up getting upgraded to a totally private mansion on the beach with 6 bedrooms, private pool, cabana, WiFi, maid service, etc for only $400 a night, which works out to only $100 a person per night. We use to get the hottest Beetle Bar girls numbers at night (usually the Colombians) and call them over for huge 5-6 hour sessions during the day. Always agreed on the $100 per girl plus taxi. Best value of my life.
