I guess my disappointment mostly comes from the fact my vision of San Jose (in my mind) went from an 'international destination for mongering' to an annex of Texas/Nevada/Florida/Georgia, etc. where high-volume prostitution is legally sanctioned.

I would have to agree with Mr. Jetsetter, San Jose may not be the ideal p4p situation, but this is a little harsh.

First of all, I would like to know where in FL or GA we have legal P4P as you say. I mean legal, like in NV or outside of SP.

It seems some either love it or hate it. I myself love the place, I am typing this from my room right now using their free in room internet. It’s my 6th trip here, I have been all over the Caribbean, including Cozumel, Belize, Honduras, Aruba & Curacao.

I have been to Asia from the Philippines to Thailand 8 times & am working on bidding a 4 year offshore construction project to be managed from Rio De Jinero. So I am not your drunken 1 time wonder who once went on a cruise. I have girls here in the Blue Marlin who treat me quite well. I have not had a CBJ since my first newbie trip. I never pay more than $60.00 - $80.00 and that includes BBBJ, as many positions as I can think of and always nothing less than cum on tits.

I have had many TLN’s and have never paid over $100.00. You get out of it what you put into it. If you don’t like the place don’t come back, no need to whine & sniffle about it to the majority of us that don’t care to hear about it. Me thinks you spent too much time at the Del Rey. I've generally had a good to great time on each of my dozen or so trips to San Jose without spending much time at the Blue Marlin. Yes, I've taken a few ladies out of there with mixed results, but I simply don't enjoy the scene there that much.

I've had much better luck at the Sportsmens Lodge and have established some nice, easygoing, lasting friendships with a number of ladies, almost all of them ticas. As I'm not a big fan of TLNs (I find it difficult to actually sleep and get my much-needed beauty rest), I haven't been involved much with negotiating their price, but I know for a fact that with a little rapport they can be had for MUCH cheaper than your stated $200-300 price range. I paid $100 once and $150 once (a 24-hour stay) for these extended sessions.

You mention the MPs but did not provide any specifics. There are dozens of viable MPs in San Jose. While I admit they can be hit-or-miss, with a little effort and homework one can have a great time in these places with some pretty special ladies, generally a mix of ticas and nicas. I've dallied with a couple of major-league gems at Bar Idem, which is actually more of a bar/brothel, and had great times at Zona Blue/HLH, Krysis, and Relax, among others. No longer much of a San Jose strip club guy, but I used to enjoy going to Kamur, where I banged some really hot ladies, notably CRT superstars Roxanna, Sabrina & Erika.

It appears you got hit with a lot of the crap that confronts any first-time visitor, no matter how experienced on the world-wide stage. Not saying you should necessarily invest the time and money to go back. There are certainly superior mongering destinations out there in LA & SEA. I am saying that you can have a great time in San Jose once you know the ropes.

I guess my disappointment mostly comes from the fact my vision of San Jose (in my mind) went from an 'international destination for mongering' to an annex of Texas/Nevada/Florida/Georgia, etc. where high-volume prostitution is legally sanctioned. I did not meet a single Costa Rican monger in the del Ray, at the strip clubs nor the massage parlours. My first rule of thumb is that the mongering will always be a rip off and less than pleasant if the percentage of foreign mongers consistently outnumber the local mongers.

The prettier of the girls that do work here turn upwards of 3-4 tricks a night at 80-130 pop. TLN in the sense of go dine out, party, etc. is not really on the table with most of these girls unless you are willing to shell out over $200 and up to $300 (before 10p anyway).

On the plus side -- many of the guys I did speak with (that weren't blitzed drunk out of their mind), were in SJ for their first or second time, and it was the only destination they had ever mongered in. Most of them stared at me blankly when I asked about where else they have traveled to (aside from the customary "well, um, lesssee...dis wun time I wen on a cruise to tha Carabeon wit my family once"). Newbie mongers scared of venturing into any non-English speaking territory, this is for you. BUT, becareful of the security situation here -- I couldn't keep count of the number of folks that said they had been robbed on the streets of SJ.

Would I go back to CR again? Definitely, but I would steer 100% clear of SJ and enjoy CR for the nature and adventure sports. No way would this Senior Member go back there for the p4p scene.

Panama is 10x better and I don't even go there anymore (I'm just pointing it out because the flight is basically the same). The casinos are much more upscale (Venetto, Marriott, Raddison, etc.), the girls are much cheaper and willing to go for TLN for <$150 at 10p, the nightclubs are much better with LOCAL regular girls that you can mix with for great fun (I checked out el Pueblo in SJ on Fri and Sat night and it SUCKED).

Lastly, I recommend the La Amistad Hotel as much nicer place to stay and you won't have to sleep on top of the the sewage that festers downstairs at the Del Ray.
