Hello Gents -.
Going to be swinging into SJ for 24 hours and am looking to maximise my time.
I am a fan of massage based places over standard Pension style brothels, and would love recommendations for massage places that are available late night. My flight won't arrive into SJ until 9:30 pm, so not likely to be able to get an appointment before 11 pm. If anyone has suggestions of locations to stay which would support a late night appointment best, please let me know.
I've had a look over the most recent posts with some great links to independant providers, and have what's-app'd several but most don't seem to work after 10 pm.
Would love any suggestions for Liberia too. I will be heading up there for a few days.
Thanks.
JaR.

I was having hernia surgery but had a few days to kill before so I stayed at the Morazan Hotel and Casio next to the Del Rey. The hotel was about $50 a night including breakfast with no guest charge for 1 guest per day. They would also call the room to ask if everything was OK when they gave her the ID back at the front desk. Reminded me of Thailand actually. I went to the Del Rey every night out of convenience and there was a decent variety. The average price was $80 USD but there were some stunners up to $120. Had a blonde that was a little chubby for me (I lived in Asia for many years) but she was amazing and had pretty good English (I think she had lived in Canada for a while). Booked her for the following afternoon for a little prostate massage / blowjob and was not disappointed. She charged me $150 but was there for about an hour and a half and clearly knew what she was doing. I have her what's app if anyone is interested.
5 girls in 3 days and I was off to have my surgery.
Overall: The Del Rey was fine, a pushy girl here or there but no big deal. If you pick the Morazan hotel, choose an inside room because the street noise can be annoying. Change your money upstairs at BCR in the airport terminal to get the best rate, otherwise at BCR ATM's, BofA charged me a $5 fee for withdrawals (which is nothing). I didn't get a SIM for my phone at the airport from Kolbi which I should have but found an outlet later. The Google conversation translate really likes to have internet to work well, by the way it's awesome. I took Ubers with no problem but at the airport it's best to move to an area away from the taxis, I went to departures to request one and when the car arrives you need to sit in the front so it doesn't look like an Uber (taxi drivers are not happy about the Uber situation). I did take a taxi to a hospital and an Uber back and it was half the cost of a taxi.
Overall the trip was awesome!
Cheers, Rauld.

Lots of great places to eat, these are some of the ones I hit based on recommendations from people who live there and went with me.
Chubbs Morazan Park.
Burgers wings etc.
National Theater has a great little bistro inside.
Next to Grand Hotel CR, one block from Central Park.
Open for lunch, have to check for breakfast or dinner.
Grand Hotel CR Roof top restaurant.
More upscale and great views.
Central Market.
I believe it is the SE entrance closest to Grand Hotel CR.
Opens to the pedestrian walkway.
Fish Mongers about 30 feet in.
I chose the one that has about 4-6 stools and no tables, on your left.
4-6 large stainless containers of different ceviche, excellent.
Pretty sure they will cook and serve you anything they sell.
I would eat lunch here every day if I could.
Lots of fast and affordable food in market.
Walk around and see what people are eating at the different places.
Nuestra Tierra.
Avenida Segunda, frente a la Plaza de la Democracia, Av. 2, San Jos, Costa Rica.
Across the street from the National Museum and a block from Jade museum.
Excellent traditional tico food.
Breakfast is excellent, and has lunch sandwiches on the back of the breakfast menu.
Ticos have lunch as the big meal, so if you order off of the lunch-dinner menu you will be totally full for the day.

Strongly recommend not renting a car, unless you have a good reason.
Taking the red taxis is fast, affordable and well defined aka safe.
Cheap rental car is $50 a day, plus parking at $2 HR.
No way you can spend that on cab rides.
Buses are also fast, safe and dirt cheap at approx 60 cents.
Car Rental companies in the city, so if you want to drive somewhere, renting a car for one or two days should be very easy.

IDEM.
Closed when I went by around 2 pm.
This place was the gem on previous trips.
Didn't make it back to check it out, too busy.
Relax.
Calle 11, between Avenidas 8 and 10, across from IDEM.
Was open at 2, didn't have time to check it out.
Pension Illusions 1081.
Calle 9 (Paseo de LOS Estudiantes) near Avenida 10 (Av. San Martin).
Sadly, this place appears to be gone.
May be victim of street becoming pedestrian walkway.
Pension 69 Bar.
Avenida 10 between Calles 11 and 13.
Must have walked past it twice.
Earlier poster says its open.

Del Ray.
Lots of overweight Colombians.
Slow night, 2 Americans in Bar.
Probably 20 girls in the place.
Key Largo.
Cute bartender told me to come back on the.
Weekend, lots more than zero people.
Chubbs Bar.
Good place to grab a beer and eat.
Holiday Inn.
Checked out the restaurant and casino.
Looks like a good place to eat on the Park.
The Park seemed mostly clean and heavily used.
And well lit.
Was there at both 6 and 8-10 PM.

Hello everyone,
Hope your hobbying is going well. I am going to be going to CR for a vacation during Christmas / New Years time. I always work through my travel agent but kind of hard on this one to explain to her exactly what I am looking for. So would love any ideas or advise you could provide. I am looking to rent a private villa / house for 8-10 nights. Any ideas where to look or what you would recommend? Also looking to find some company while I am there. Not for an hour or two but at least in 24 hour increments, or days, or the entire time. I have seen reports of the girls at the hotels going for 200-300 HR. What is the typical daily rate? Also seen much about how pimping is an absolute no no. So where do I find or ask about these women? Are there any good websites to try and connect and plan in advance?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Posts: 8Thanks Pokeris for the Uber advice. One last question, are there any opinions on the above site. I know that pimping is illegal in CR but some of the ads have that vibe, "18 year old, new in town" type of thing, which being 50 has no interest to me, but there are plenty of decent ads. Just wondering if anyone had any experience using the site.
