Thinking of another trip to SJ.

Last trip was over 10, maybe 15 years ago.

I guess much has changed, not least the pricing.

Is there still SW's in Gringo gulch? Around Morazon park maybe?

Is the HDR still jumping? I went to Idem and a few smaller massage places if I recall, all a bit hit and miss.

The SW's were the saving grace, although I I think Key Largo and HDR kept it real for me provided a beginning and end to the night.

Reading between the lines there seems to have been a crusade against the hobby (as in many countries), has it succeeded here?

Has it gone the way of Cuba? Numbers way down etc.

I recall crazy transvestites, some wild hookers, dodgy taxi drivers and scruffy hotels, I stayed in an ecuadorian lodge that stank of cigrettes, and also maybe a hotel with an english name, hotel windsor or balmoral maybe, also a real local joint hotel teca something or other was woken in the morning by traffic and mariachi band practice in a nearby hall.

Scruffy, sleazy a bit dangerous; loads of casino's I wouldn't trust to be straight and a whole load of fun.

Well, I'm older and bit more sensible now, Be handy if any old timer viagra fiends like me make a general comparison then and now?

Its a long trip in a crowded market. Dominican rebublic, Colombia, Brazil etc.

The problem is they've all cleaned up, become more family friendly, even Cartagena isn't the free for all it was.

My last trip to SJO was quite good but delray was a massive disappointment. Lack of tourists in delray meant little chance of business for girls and hence the dismal numbers. I always want to have plan be so skokka can come in handy. My only question for such arrangement is. What to do if girl is not as advertised? Go down to lobby and pay her how much?

I took a few days recently for business reasons in San Jose, and having not been to the country before, was keen to taste some of it's delights. I wasn't keen on the SL or HDR style of arrangements, but having read El Moreno's report of his apartment in Rohrmoser, I thought that would be a good starting place for me. The poker scene has moved to the Hotel Taormina, with daily games beginning around 3 pm, hold'em with $1-2 blinds. At least this was the case when I was last there around 3 months ago. I was in SJ last weekend and was looking for a poker game to pass the time while I 'recharged'. HDR has a nice looking poker room but when I asked the guy about a game he explained, they can't get guys to commit to showing up to play. He said they might get maybe 10 guys during the day asking about it, but they can't get them at the same time, so I guess the room sits empty. I also checked out Club Colonial next door as they used to have poker game upstairs when I frequented SJ years ago. The doorman said no when I asked about poker. I think he understood me. No English. You can stay at sleep inn. But, if you can book individual days with you plus a guest. You can even try you plus 2 guest. But, I think they stopped that.

By doing individual days you can change girls. So, when you check in. Just say your guest is on her way, LOL.

I agree with you. I was in SJ last weekend for a couple of nights and stayed at the Sleep Inn. A little hack that works well for mongers that like to keep the same chica during your stay is to book a double room. She doesn't have to be with you when you check in, but when she does arrive put her on your reservation as the 2nd person in the room. Then she can come and go during your stay without any additional fees other than paying for your room. This doesn't work for guys like me that want variety during my stay.

On another note, I got to talking with my cab driver that tried to hook me up with a couple of hott chicas, but they only did in-calls which is a no-no for me. Quick San Jose Trip Report.

Recently, I did a quick 4-day trip to San Jose. For the first time in all of my visits to Costa Rica, I stayed outside of the famous "gulch," which is the area around the Hotel Del Rey (HDR) and Sportsmen Lodge (SL). I rented an Airbnb in the Rohrmorser Area, an upscale type of area northwest of Sabana Park. This was one of the best lofts that I have rented in a while and the view from the balcony was outstanding (see pics). The building name is "QBO Skyhomes. " My unit was on the 19th floor. Extremely girl-friendly too (absolutely ZERO issues with bringing chicas back and I mean ZERO! The chicas loved it.

All chicas spoke Spanish except one. I am posting our conversations in English. I felt like a horny f*cker on this trip.

Day 1 (after a noon arrival and early check in at QBO).
