I will be in CR the first week of December and I am just curious to know if the lagging world economy is effecting prices in CR?

Is that a trick question or perhaps did you mean the Key Largo? I know we've had our differences but whatever else I've thought of you I've always felt you were an extremely knowledgeable guy when it came to the SJ scene (and I mean that as a sincere compliment).

I always thought that Del Rey and the Blue Marlin bar is open 24 hours. In fact it says right on their home page "Our Del Mar Restaurant, Casino and the World Famous Blue Marlin Bar are open 24 hours." And there is always someone at the hotel front desk. Did the authorities recently shut them down for handicap ramps or something and I didn't hear about it ? The Key Largo (also owned by the HDR) is a slightly different story. It is open from 8 pm till the small hours but doesn't really get going until around 10PM when the live music starts.

But I know you already knew all that.

How much that $60 buys (or whether you even agree on $50, $60, $70 or whatever) depends on your negotiating skills. If you don't specify the chica will probably interpret $60 as until you cum and then she's out the door. In fact, a game some vets play is to bet on how quickly some of the most notorious barracuda hotties in the school of fish we call the BM wind up back in the bar after reeling in some of the greenhorn angler/mongers and disappearing up the stairs (how is that for mixed metaphors?). The record for some is well under 20 minutes (which includes time spent going up and down the stairs, getting dressed and undressed, taking care of payment in advance, freshening up afterwards, etc.).

When you "negotiate" with the chicas you should try to nail down more than just the price but other things like "por una hora entera" (for a full hour), "muchos orgasmos para usted y para mí también" (many orgasms for you and for me too), "chúpeme sin un condón" (BBBJ) and "sólo (or siempre) pago al fin" (I only (or always) pay at the end). Its better still if you can work these things into your conversation with her at the bar, rather than firing them off like some job interview, thereby changing the tone of your interaction to more of a business deal rather than a GFE (even though it always really is a business deal). Naturally, the better your spanish is the easier this will all be. You'd be surprised how far even just a little spanish can go when combined with their english and choice use of hand gestures and body language. But the more spanish you can pick up before you go is always the better.

BTW, it is not just what you say before that matters but what you do afterwards. There is an expresssion "Never pay them for sex, pay them to leave." Unlike the mistake that some guys make that I mentioned above, you should always pay at the end of the session (except at some MP's) and then pay fully what was agreed upon if she delivered as agreed (plus a tip IF you so choose). Never pay at the beginning. If you pay in the beginning of your session, the chica might "forget" all the finer details of your agreement including that its not over if you pop 5 minutes later. And, if that happens and she starts to dress, what can you really do about it?

OTOH, if you haven't yet given her any money and she insists you pay first, you can just tell her to leave with nada (which usually gets her to change her mind). Or, if she starts doing something for you but decides to leave before you've gotten everything you asked for ahead of time, you can refuse to pay the full amount. In that situation, coming to a mutually agreed settlement could be a little sticky but, again, usually will get her to get back into her work. Finally on this point I should add that when any of these things happen it can put a real crimp on the GFE and you might decide to cut the session short anyway (again paying a fair amount for whatever she did deliver) HOWEVER if you've made your selection carefully anything worse than a brief request for advance payment should not happen that often.

Re: "Which is the best MP if ZB is terrible". It should be pointed out that a lot of guys might disagree with the premise of that question because they think ZB/LH is great. Like Tom, I don't happen to be one of those guys and have found myself walking in and out of ZB on several occasions. So, which is "best" is completely a matter of opinion and subject to YMMV. However, when it comes to ANY of these places it ALSO largely comes down to timing. Who they've had working at these places lately when you go down? Who is on shift and who is taking that day off or hasn't arrived yet the day you go? Who happens to be busy in the back when you get there and what is left over in the waiting room?

This is even more true of the lower end tico MP's that have rates as little as half of what places like ZB/LH or IDEM charge. OTOH, if you're not busy going off on tours around the countryside and/or you don't have the stamina for non-stop 24-hour sexual marathons, then the one thing you have plenty of during the day in SJ is time. This is why so many guys don't mind taking a stroll and popping their heads into various MP's over the course of a morning or afternoon (or even just an hour or two). You never know when or where you'll find that diamond in the rough or needle in the haystack (though the odds are not anywhere nearly so bad as that metaphor suggests). Sometimes they even get lucky and find something they like at the first place they stop but it is not uncommon (particularly with the lower end places) to have to check out several places before that happens.

I am planning my trip in Nov. How much time you get for the $60 for DR girls. Do they allow multiple pops. Looking forward to you trip report. Which is the best MP if ZB is terrible.

I just got back 3 weeks ago. As usual the girls asked for $100.00. I never paid more than $60.00, I kid you not. There were so many girls that they immediately dropped their price.

Also I found that the Zona Blue is no more, teplaced by a place named Havana. Terrible selection, we left without partaking.

Re: actually getting back to talking about chicas, I thought that was what I was doing in my post yesterday when I added useful info on to Jazzplayer's post concerning those 2 tico MP's and that was followed by 3 seperate inflammatory posts by Fantasy all digging up crap from the past. IMHO, Katouey got it wrong who the troll is here. I'm just responding to personal attacks. You guys are right that I should just let it go, but that is a lot easier to say when it is not directed against you. No one would be happier than me if we could ALL really just get back to sharing useful info on chicas (instead of just talking about doing that).

I paid $80.00 for a standard room at the Del Rey 3 weeks ago. I think the price that was quoted was for one of the suites on the top floor.

Can this be right? 3rd week in Oct 08 and with tax it is like 180 for a single standard room. Is this right or am I being taken?

I wouldn't worry about a big surge in business ruining these places. It may be news to ISG readers but its already been out there on CRT for quite some time now. And a lot of the other guys around here lately seem to prefer sticking nearly exclusively to the tried and true like the BM/KL or ZB/LH. OTOH, maybe the CRT publicity already is having the effect you feared. Are the prices at these places really up to 18K now? I heard they had recently gone up but just a year ago they were only in the 13-14K range.

These directions might add more help for the "navigationally challenged":

The Kama Sutra directions JP gave were pretty good. For a nearby landmark, you could tell the taxista the Hotel Torremolinos since KS is literally right next door. And if nothing there strikes your fancy there are lots of other popular MP's not too far away in that Paseo Colon area (e.g. Veronicas, Oasis and its sister MP across from the bingo place whatever thats called now).

Re Venus: I'm not too sure most guys around here would be able to figure out "below Iglesia Santa Teresita". To give them a better idea, this is in the Aranjuez neighborhood which is the area to the east of the SL and Hotel Amistad. You could walk there from those places but it is a pretty long walk. From the SL area go to the end of Avenida 9 (near the Cafe Mundo), turn left and go 3 blks to the end and then turn right (Ave 11), go 5 more blks and turn left on Calle 23 (1blk n of the church). This is the main street and only one that goes down and crosses the little river that passes thru SJ on this side of town (the bridge JP was talking about). Venus is 2 blks down on a side street (Avenida 15) to the right just before you get to the river. What is that, 10 blks or ~1km? Come to think of it, I like to walk but most guys will probably want to take a cab (tell the guy "trescientos metros de norte y veinticinco metros del este de la Iglesia Santa Teresita"). Once you're there look for the 1st unit of a green and white 3 unit building on the north (left) side of the avenida. Unfortunately, I don't know of any other MP's in that area to turn to if the selection at Venus turns out to be unacceptable, maybe JP can add further help in that area.

I'm in CR tomorrow night, nice. I really like starting out with two stops Saturday morning about 10: 30. 11:00AM to my fave massejes.

Kama Sutra usually has five or more chicas. The rooms have beds on the floor but all have windows and are airy. One of my longtime favoritas is there, Carolina, and she always aims to please. It's out a ways from the gulch Avendia 5 and Calle 38, non-descript tan building on the left.

My other favorite first stop is Venus Massje. It's just below Ingelesia Santa Terisita on the street at the bottom of the bridge. Four new girls last time and Carolina moved to Kama Sutra. The rooms at Venus are really quiet and breezy.

Both are 18, 000c for an hour and there is never a knock.

These are off the path massajes, excellent service, nice cute chicas, safe, really my favorite type compared to the wholesale NF and HLH.

Once again Fantasy you're absolutely correct and I'm absolutely wrong. You didn't say DARK alley. I only ASSUMED this event occurred at night (as most such incidents seem to do) and that as a result the alley was dark. The only other alternative would be that crime in SJ has gotten so bad that these things now happen as often in broad daylight. Besides, you did also say that "he jumped into a cab to return to his hotel one night. The cab took him about 6 blocks and turned into an alley." and it seemed logical to assume that it didn't take all night and into the morning to drive those 6 blocks. Either way, does such a detail of whether the alley was dark or not really make any real difference in how dramatic the event was, which was really my whole point? You're just nitpicking now. My comments in my last post all went directly to the main point of your preceding post which was who is putting words in whose mouth.

You're also right that I've had more than my share of dance partners on this board. All that proves is that you're not the only guy who is "basically an asshole" (to use your own self description). The difference between me and them is that I don't lead in that dance. I didn't address you here. You ("know it all") and Katouey ("troll") started in with the personal attacks on me before I even addressed either of you directly. So how is that my fault?

Unfortunately, there are a lot of assholes on this board. There are also a lot of really decent guys like Jazz and WorldTraveler and even Mangera and Tiny12 (who agrees with me about HDR pricing) who have enough sense not to engage in this fight. I'll take my lead from them and leave you to dance with yourself and do what I've been suggesting everyone do in each of my last few posts - stick to the topics of real concern to everyone, express my views and respect those of others without making any personal attacks. Do you think you can do the same? Either way this will be the last of my replies to you on this subject.

A horrible economy in the US, means fewer mongers going down, those going down making fewer trips and spending less on each trip and that means lower demand. Bad economic times in CR and everywhere else means more chicas from CR and neighboring countries plying the trade and (if that means less money per trick) putting in longer hours and more nights at the BM. Add to that temporary closures at various MPs and probably less business at them as well further adds to the numbers of chicas trying their hand at places like the BM. All that means greater supply at the BM. Put that together and there has to be more movement on the downward side of prices.

That doesn't mean that they've stopped initially asking for cien or that there still isn't any downward stickiness in negotiations. These gals have never shown the greatest business acumen when they've held out for cien in the past, turning down several lower priced offers and often winding up going home with an empty pocket. It may be a pride/ego thing as much as anything else but many of them are not as quick to realize the economic realities as purely rational market forces would have you believe.

It is also interesting to note that the rates at several of the more popular MP's, such as IDEM or ZB/LH (w/o the CRT discount) have actually gone UP in recent months not down. With inflation being what it is in CR, there may be only so far that any of these businesses and individuals can afford to lower their prices.

I don't want to become part of this debate, but if a room costs $130 to $180 now at the DR that does seem like a rip off. Reading through this thread I remembered that the hottest woman I've seen posted on ISG was in a photo by Fantasy, and she was standing by a white limousine in front of the Veneto in Panama. The Veneto from time to time throws its doors open to freelancers, and becomes like an upscale Del Rey, but only during the night and with less women. I'd pay $180 for a room at the Veneto, it's a nice hotel. But there's no way I'd pay $180 at the DR.
