I plan to visit SJU in July and always stated at the HDR before COVID. I remember seeing the Gran Hotel going up before COVID, and from the pictures, it looks beautiful close to the HDR.

Has anyone stayed at the Gran and if so, do you know if they allow lady guests and / or charge for brining in a lady guest?

So after my Tinder girl left, it was about 11 pm, showered and went downstairs to get drink. My buddy and I walk into the bar around 1130 and take the table on the right, as soon as you enter. We order some imperials and are waiting. A waitress brings a bill for my buddy to pay. He looks at it and is like wtf is this? It's got food, drinks and cigarettes on it. We're like yo we just walked in and ordered two imperials, what is this? My buddy is getting frustrated and has an accent and she can't understand a thing. I try with my broken ass Spanglish and she sort of gets it but calls the bartender up. She was hot and I'd liked to hit that, but I digress. LOL. She proceeds to point to a chick and tells my buddy that she said he told her to get all that shit and that he'd pay. Bwahahahaha so now it starts getting tense because he's like I literally just walked in and I don't know this lady, never seen her, never even spoken to her. The bartender has the chick walk over and she's like trying to act all innocent and looking at him and shit and he's like who the fuck are you I don't know you? I explain to the bartender that we just walked in 5 minutes earlier and haven't even gotten our beer much less talk to anyone. I point to the cameras and I'm like go check. She's like no no no let me go see something. Comes back a few minutes later and says don't worry about it, misunderstanding. We're like wtf?

So I don't know if I'm way off but I felt like they were all in on it, the puta and the bartender. This chick was not eating shit when we walked in. I feel like it was a bogus bill they rung up and if we were scared enough to just pay, they'd pocket that shit and zero out that bill. Because that bartender made it go away real quick once I pointed at the cameras. Come to think of it, we didn't even look at the date on the bill.

Anyone else had something like that happen to them?

Sitting at the tables in the Taormina sports bar is risky. People come and go and the service is real shitty, to boot. I had an incident late last year when I was sitting at a tablwe with three girls (one of whom I knew). There was a bit of a discrepancy that the bar manager resolved. Now, I always sit at the bar and pay cash for every beer. It may be that someone was sitting at the same table and ordered something for the puta, then took off. That's how lax their service is. I would never let them take my CC and leave a tab open, but I know guys who have.

I had previously been to CR twice but this time, brought 10 of my friends. A few of us started in San Jose and then everyone met up in Jaco.

The family of roaches that visited me for my two nights there did help either. Oh well, scoped the bar and casino and slim pickins man. Around 11 p I got desperate and just grabbed one who was on her way out. It was ok but she was beyond hardened pro. Just mechanical, fake moans and laughs, etc etc. I was mad for caving into that desperate feeling.

Day 9. Last full day in CR. Most guys had returned home and there were just three of us left so we hit up Pension Monica for breakfast again. This time went for an hour each - $40. Got everything I got last time, plus a nice little massage, 2nd pop, and then chatted with her for about 15 minutes. I called Tinder girl and told her I was back in town and she wanted to get together so we planned a date for that night. We spend another 4 hours together and man she was the best. Next time I plan to rent a condo as my home base. I'll make sure the occasional chica is cool with the owner before I do. I'll do a lot more recon on my own and get my own list of # before I come back!

I will confirm Aloft is girl friendly, at least the ones I had come over. It's so much nicer than Taormina but it's far from that area. Please don't fuck it up. It's in a very different neighborhood. It's definitely BYOP (Bring Your Own Puta). This area is much more modern and less distinct but I kinda liked having all the services. One of the best movie theaters is right across the street in the mall and I watched Top Gun last night while I waited in vain for Chica #2 to blow me off.

I am old. I realized I said 22 years of mongering but it's been more like 42 LOL (going to be 61 this year).

There's a lot to like about this place beyond the chicas. I had a great vacation and hiked all over the place. It was a lot of fun speaking Spanish with the locals.
