Hey guys, would really appreciate your thoughts on safety bringing non-pros to your Airbnb. I mean how is it compared to Medillin? Is scoping common here? I was thinking it may be better to just book a room in a hotel and leave all valuables at the Aribnb a safer option, no?

Really appreciate any help.

First, is your Airbnb ok with bringing in guests. Most are not. Second, if she will do that the pro / non-pro label is meaningless.

And as far as I know scoping is not common in Costa Rica, but there have been working girls that have turned out to be multiple murderers. So there is no certainty. A hotel room, if you find a hotel that allows guests, is probably a great option as the hotels will require that the guest to at least show their ID (cedula) and will often keep it at the desk until she leaves.

Pension Monica's. As people say, decent deal.

Pension 360 - room was a bit hot but nice that they had furniture besides bed, like one of those S-shaped chairs.

Hotel Del Rey Bar. I saw a few better looking women, but a lot of them don't seem better than the ones in the pensiones, but they are asking 2-3 x as much. I guess some people like the experience of finding girls right in their hotel, or chatting at the bar first, so they pay the extra.

I met one girl at one of the hotel bars, but I wasn't staying there, so we went to this cheap hourly hotel nearby that she knew. It wasn't pretty, but it worked.

One negative about some pensiones is that they are on crappy streets. Literally. It doesn't help my mood to step by human feces on the road on the way there.

Beavis, thanks for the memories! That's the Park Hotel Bar I remember from about 20 years ago!

I have made 25 trips to Costa Rica. 17 of them I stayed at the Park Hotel. First Don was the owner, then Bill and Bill bought it together, then Bill bought out the other Bill. Last time I was there it had been torn down and a department store built there. I was there when they found about a 10 foot Boa Constrictor inside one of the walls of the patio. I have some more pictures of Bill somewhere but no idea where.

The first time he ever did that was for my birthday party. Gave bottles of oil to everyone that wanted to get involved. Not sure if Bill is around or not. Last time I was there was 2012.

Bill would "close" the bar on Friday and Saturday night for the show. All the girls on the bar and a free for all. Was the best of times. Park was my favorite bar back in the day. Last time I was in SJ, Bill was still alive but in poor health. Does anyone know if he is still around?

I will be mongering for the first time when I visit San Jose. I wanted to get a full GFE for whole day. Any recommendations? I plan to do some touristy things and grab food outside hotels so wanted some company when I travel. Does anyone have any recommendations?

If you are staying in a Hotel like Taormina or Sportsmen Lodge depends how many days you have. Hopefully your their Thursday through the weekend to have more to pick from. If not you still might get lucky finding a gem Sun to Wed at those Hotels. Taormina will be busier than Sportsmen and not sure if Del Rey reopened. You can screen your girls the first day or two sport fuc*ing just make sure you keep your valuables in the Safe. And like always never leave your open drinks out unattended. Or smoke or take their stash of substances. Don't get too wasted and be extra vigilant when you have two girls in the room at same time. Once you find your girl ID take taxis to and from museums or restaurants. Ask the place or restaurant and they can hail you a red cab to get back to hotel or next destination. Like other members stated lots can go wrong walking the streets of San Jose with a girl you barely know so I wouldn't go that route Any Pro would be stoked to give you a day rate and GFE. Expect 300 to 500 for a daily rate if you are covering meals and entrance to activities. Try to negotiate for unlimited sex in the day or at least 3 times in the day. Novillo Alegre or Esquina de Buenos Aires are great for a nice steak dinner. Expect comparable pricing to a US steak house. Also Expect the day to end by nightfall unless you line up multiple days in a row. All girls love trips to Jaco Beach as well. Just stay at a well known hotel like Crocs, Cocal, or Villa Caletas. Some don't like to bring sand to the beach but if you vibe well with a girl from San Jose and like the service its not a bad idea because prices rise considerably once you're in Jaco meeting chicas. Speaking Spanish helps to receive more of a girlfriend experience Have fun. Be safe!!

As a first time monger, don't do it. Stay at a gringo hotel and either connect with other mongers to serve as wingman or arrange for private full day tours through your hotel. Adjust to the hobby by separating playtime activities from tourist activities. There are too many things that could go wrong. Post a Roll Call with your travel dates to see who else is in town.

100% agree. Especially now. Was not so much the case 20+ years ago, but today. Your advise is gold.

I would hit the "gringo" bars in San Jose and "interview" the ones that strike your fancy, someone you think would be fun both in and out of bed. Don't arrange an all-day through the internet without spending a short time with her first. Too easy to be stuck with someone who you really don't want to spend the day with. And just for basic info the gringo bars I would check (in no particular order) are the Sportsmens Lodge, the bar at the Hotel Castillo, the Taormina, the Hotel Little Havana and the Blue Marlin Bar at the Del Rey Hotel. There's really no telling which bar is going to be the busiest on any given night as the women move around based on the number of available gringos. They are all walking distance from each other in the daytime and an inexpensive Uber or taxi at night.

Anyone know where a place to buy those Trojan "bareskin raw" condoms in San Jose? I like them, but I haven't seen them around. With some of the other ones I can't feel much.
