Hey all,

Heading to SJO on Thursday and will spend 2 days in San Jose then 2 days in Jaco. I've been mongering for years but taking a friend who didn't have a greencard and wasn't able to leave the states for a decade.

Hit up the HDR in the past. A bit annoyingly mechanical but will try again.

Accommodations. Anyone know if the Sheraton is chica friendly?

Also will be going to Santa Teresa / Malpais. Any scene there?

I always stay at the SleepInn. Clean, quiet, safe and good free breakfast. Yes, chica friendly. $20. You can walk through the casino and across the street to the Del Rey. Quick and easy. Dollar exchange is reasonable. If you don't want to spend $20 and just want to get off, there's a hotel across the street from the DR that charges $7 for two hours that is very clean also.

Holiday Inn. Not chica friendly.

I lived on that exact block for four months and can also confirm. Calle 3 A between Avenidas 9 and 7. I miss that apartment. Full size washer and dryer and hot water everywhere. Haven't had all that since.

I have pounded that pavement-Zona II, now Pension 506 is on the corner of Ave 9 and Calle 3 A. Since physical addresses and numbers mean jack in Costa Rica, it doesn't matter what the 'official' address is -Ave 9 or Calle 3 A, but it is hard to miss on the corner! And Little Havana is adjacent to it on 3 A as well.

Is the address of the place: Zona II Hotel and Lounge, Calle 3 A (bis) why Av 9, San Jos, 10101, Costa Rica?

Also has anyone tried "a sex dungeon with sex sling or whatever you call that, and whips, and sex toys and stuff?" If so how much do you need to pay to the girl and if this requires much convincing -- I understand everything depends on the girl, but I wondered if anyone had a real experience in this place or a similar (are there better places: this this the first time I see it mentioned and my fantasy takes the better of me), so how much should I expect overall cost and experience to be? Feel free to I'm to share, if uncomfortable in public -- I would appreciate either way!

The name of it on Google maps is Zona II Hotel and Lounge. Hotel Little Havana should be slightly more South on Google Maps. Zona II has a new name of Bar & Pension 506 for the local men, and I think it will probably keep the name Zona II for the gringos or old timers. If you took a taxi you would probably be better off calling it Zona II.

Sunday. New Fantasy & the Havana place (I knew it as Zona Blue long time ago)

Zona II is now called Bar & Pension 506. I was there a couple weeks ago and banged a nice Nica, my friend banged a nice Nica there also. I went there 3 times though and we only saw those girls once. The two Nicas we took were really good looking and pretty good. There was a Tica there on my last visit there, she was really good looking, but I was just observing too long and someone took her. I happened to sit next to the owner on my last trip there. His name is Mark and he said he used to be a manager or assistant manager there or something when it was Zona II. He admits it was much better a long time ago. He also owns other businesses and says most of the people he knew moved to Medellin. After talking to him, he seems like he is going to start catering to the local Tico men, not gringos. He said the new name is better for the local men. I guess the name 'Pension' lets the locals know what's up. He did say that in the future he might start calling it Zona II again. He has some nice rooms above that are quite nice. He is renovating them though. One of them was just finished. The first room he showed me actually had a sex dungeon with sex sling or whatever you call that, and whips, and sex toys and stuff. I forgot the prices he told me. But he said if you take a girl from the bar you don't have to pay a room fee anymore which means the girls are about half price. I think we paid $40 to fuck there girls there. I should report sooner, I forget more than I remember these days. Anyways, if you pay $40 to take the girl, $20 went to the bar for a 'room rental'. If you stay at his apartment you would just pay the girl $20. He talked about the laws and legalities and all that stuff. A bonus tip. The owner told me that for every drink you buy, you get to roll 2 dice. And if your number is 7, you will get a free drink or a free room fee. He said the bar girls always forget though. You have to ask them. I didn't get my 7 though. Attached are a couple pictures of the former Zona II. The Zona II sign is still there though. Also they have a punch card there. I think it was you take a girl 4 times, the 5th time is free. The card is not labeled with the clubs name though. It has a fake coffee shop name. I guess if you rent his room upstairs, and you used the punch card. You could bang 5 times for $80. I have to say I always went kind of late and there was not a good choice. I suggest trying earlier than I went, try like 2-4 PM or something.

Dental work in Colombia is probably 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of Costa Rica. And the girls. No comparison in quality and price.

It's been quite a while since I visited SJO and it seems to have deteriorated into a haven for overpriced CBJs from overweight ticas. Higher prices aside is Jaco any better?

Doing my first trip in 2004 I ended up pulling two strippers out of a club (I can't remember which). One was an experienced tigress but the other was brand new and I was her first salida. I ended up sending the other away after a couple hours and had one of the best GFEs of my life.

The downside was the way overpriced drinks I had to keep buying while making my selection. But if I do make it back to SJO next month I think that's the way I'll go because it sounds like the mainstays have gone way down hill.

For perspective, I have been coming to CR since 1999 and have made probably 11 trips, the last being in 2011.

Here I am again in 2017 for affordable dental work & I was soon reminded why I stopped coming here back in 2011 for fun: it's all the fat chicks. So much fat! (newspaper article in 2016 says 67% of Costa Ricans are overweight. https://thecostaricanews.com/more-th...ight-or-obese/).

I got in on a Saturday (Travel tip from someone who has come here a lot: take the Bus from the airport. Costs maybe $1.00 and you can either push the button if it drives by your stop downtown, or take it to the city center and catch an Uber, or taxi. You will of course need coins "monedas" because the bus fare is so low, so I went to trade in $100 at the money exchange in the airport. Be sure to ask the person to be sure to give you monedas para el autobus). So, on a Saturday, I checked into the apartamento I found on AirBnB, then went hunting. (Another travel tip: apartamentos give you a key and don't care who you bring back, although best to get an "entire place" rental, not just a room, if using AirBnB and also confirm with host that no problem if I bring a novia back with me, as some places on AirBnB specifically say they do not allow the ladies in).

Monica's. I had never been but read great reviews here. It was like 4-5 pm on a Saturday. There were two chicas available, both stout, but I found the 18 yr old Emma to have a cute face. The place was fine for 14 k colones ($24) but even Emma had a belly and arm fat..

If your still there go to Alcazar strip club.

Actually, using the quick and dirty dollar to colones conversion I actually tipped her $40. The service was good and this was an insignificant amount of money. She went out of her way to please. I don't know about you or what your beliefs are but I am not an asshole.

I am all for tips to incentivize outstanding service, and for giving a bit extra for something special, but that is just a silly amount.
