When do the poker games run at the Taormina usually? Stakes?

Just returned from a five night stay at the Hotel Taormina. My general findings with COVID still restricting activities:

-Hotel Taormina: much cleaner than the Del Rey, standard rooms (no balconies). I will return.

-Free standard breakfast American style (two eggs, bacon, toast and hash browns).

-No Chica fee, that I could tell (I had no issue taking girls up) The girls do have to register at the front desk, but there was no security at the elevator to verify. Depending on how you make your reservatrion may dictate if you have to pay a chica fee. See below.

-I made my hotel reservation with no deposit (See below).

-Small sports bar in the hotel is where the action is. Limited seating inside, so it fills up quickly. Only 6 seats at a smallish bar, that are separated by plexiglass, so you can't really talk to the person next to you. About 10-12 stand up tables; 2-6 person capacity. All patrons need to be seated when drinking (not strictly enforced, but they do announce warnings occasionally). Bar opens at 11:00 am. Girls start arriving about 1:00 pm and the number allowed is regulated, I'd gauge it at 15-20 max. If a hotel guest has a girl on his arm, she is automatically allowed in. I helped one of my "dates" get her girlfriend in to join us.
Once in the bar, you can generally remove your mask. It is needed to enter and exit.

-Girl quality is definitely lacking; only a couple 7-8 range: several holdovers from the HDR, for sure.

-The bar starts shutting down at 8:00 pm. At 9:00 pm, the girls who aren't with a guest, have to leave. After 9, the bar stays open for a little longer, for hotel guests, most nights the bar was closed before midnight. There is a DJ in the bar. Beers are about $3. I bought some shots, but I didn't really check to see what they cost.

-The casino is decent, but all seats at tables and slots are separated by plexiglass and masks still need to be worn. No alcohol is served or allowed in the casino. I did hear that you "may" be able to get an alcoholic drink in a small cup.

-A Covid test can be scheduled through the hotel and the nurse will come to your room; $60, results in three hours. The results will be emailed to the front desk and they will print it out for you.

Contact, if needed: I have a good friend who works with the Taormina (and Cocal condos in Jaco) and she will take care of your reservations, transportation and Covid test scheduling. She told me that reserving through her will eliminate the chica fee. Send me a private message if you want her contact information.

General info for newbies:

-CR has a strict mask policy, most everywhere.

-Exchange rate: The casino rate is $1. 00 = roughly 600 colones.

-The girls range in price differs; some ask more, depending on their age and looks. Times are hard, so good negotiation skills are helpful. The girls are trying to make a living and we all want a win-win, right?

I generally offer $80 and a "propina" for good service. I find generally, $80 to $150 to be the range you can get most any girl in CR.

-Taxi from SJO airport to the hotel area is metered. Expect to pay C20,000 - C24,000.

Prior to my flight to Costa Rica, I have started some conversation with an SB via SA. By end of Day 1, I reached out to an handful more. I figured the quality from SA will be higher than that of the ones you'll find on the ground at Taormina or Sportmens.

From my Day 1 recon, I believe this to be the case. Word of caution, most Costa Rican girls are super flirty. So them calling you baby, love, mi amor. Don't feel too special since they'll call any potential punters similar term of endearment.

The first SB I suppose to meet Day 1 flaked out on ground of feeling sick. Luckily I went by the rule so I have others as backup. As a matter of fact, my number choice reached out first. We had a great conversation and I could tell that she's from a good background with proper education. I tried to contain my excitement because based on her photos and bio, she does seem like a model material (face, proportion, height 175 cm).

While we continue our convo, I had a nice day of grass fed steak and excellent coffee. She usually lives abroad but in Costa Rica to visit family. Her hometown is about 2 hours from San Jose. She quoted $200 USD for a PPM. Honestly, I would happily (and was prepared for her to ask for that rate) pay $300. So I quickly accepted but not before clearing up that FS is part of the date. She asked me if I can help book Uber for her but I can deduct the amount from our arrangement fee!*.

She can see me on Friday without Uber since her parents can bring her to San Jose. But seeing I need to see her Thursday (because my place in Santa Ana is super nice) since I'll move to Tiormina Casino on Friday. So I agreed to have her take Uber over. Since we're at a raining season, it cost literally $100 USD as opposed to the normal $50 USD!

When she arrived, it was a big pleasant surprised. She looked even better than the photo! And her outfit / style, no wonder she had no problem getting past security. Very fashionable and high class. I thought to myself, "Damn, I hit a jackpot!" But my follow up thoughts, "I'm fucked. Because the rest of the girls will not measured up to this"*.

We spend couple hours just talking. Her English is good enough and her experience / interest varied enough to keep the conversation going really well. There are several topics we have in common so it was so natural for the both of us. We had Uber Eats deliver the food where we had a nice dinner over a nice bottle of wine I bought from a market nearby. Damn, this feels like a date with a really hot girl. I don't do SA a lot but I can say she's the best way thus far.

Dinner and conversation was at least 3 hours plus. During the talk, she mentioned that she's okay with stay over. At no extra charges! WTF. This is almost unheard of for a SB. *.

When they don't try to squeeze me, I tend to be more generous. But I'm super anal about overpaying or paying above what we agreed upon. So I offered to cover her Uber fair since that'll take the whole thing to $300 USD. For an overnight with this hot girl? Hell yeah. After dinner, we just shower and snuggled up to watch Netlfix. The whole experience was more like BF / GF. The sex came naturally during the process. I won't go into the detail but the experience was more like making out with your GF on a date before finally going all the way. It was a lot of kissing, making out, foreplay before we finally get to the sex.

She found out that I prefer to wake up later (9 or 10 am) so she made it a point to do also. No rush out in the morning either. So I offer to Uber her over to see her friend in the city as a final parting gift. I'm fucked. How's the rest of the trip going to measure up to this!

Day 1. This report is as much a travel guide as a mongering report. This will also hopefully serve to help newbie to Costa Rica have a smoother / safer trip.

Landed. TIP: Make sure you have your health card (QR) ready. I saved mine on the phone (along with insurance, vaccination card and hotel booking info). If you're an American, you don't need to have Covid test done. You supposed to have your two shots (or in the case of JJ one shot) done. In reality, they don't really check although I also have the vaccination card ready. Most important next to your health card is your travel insurance. They are super strict about this.

If you did not purchase your travel insurance from a local provider per link from Costa Rica travel advisory website, please make sure the have your travel insurance info correct. Seems like the other popular option is Trawick (which I also got). It's a bit cheaper with my 1 week going for $47 USD (comparing to local provider at around $70 USD). The main hiccup was that the destination on my insurance also stated USA So check that carefully. Fortunately, they let me email the provider to make the change and took photo of it as proof. Still, that caused unnecessary hassle for me. There's a minimum amount of coverage so check carefully on this also if you purcahsed from Trawick although most of their coverages do seem to cover the minimum requirement for Costa Rica. To their credit, the rep replied and made changes same day. At immigration, they also want to know your hotel info (address and sometimes reservation proof) so have that at ready. In my case, giving them name and address is enough.

Made some small exchanges since the rate at the airport aren't the best. However, I need to have some cash on hand just in case. It's never a good idea to pay in USD for normal service because the exchange rate they give you tend to be bad. Bought a Prepaid SIM from Claro! Booth right at luggage pickup area (if I used USD, it would have been.

I stayed in the Santa Ana area. It's one of the safer part of the city. Okay to walk around and discover some interesting food and cafe in the neighborhood. Uber is the best and least hassle way to go. For that matter, I also used Uber from the airport. It was around 4500 CR to Santa Ana. Costa Rica is one of the source of many good coffee. I recommend Taza Amarilla for a great coffee in the Santa Ana area. Also popped by Salt Traders for a nice artisanal sea salt.

In the evening, I hit the "walk of shame". The drawback of staying in Santa Ana is the taxi fare. It's around 5000 CR one way via Uber. My walk of shame consist of Sportsmens Lodge for a nice baked sea bass grilled veggie dinner. It also gives me a more relax way of window shopping. Unfortunately, the best looking ticas are the two bartenders. I guess I'm used to Thailand / Vietnam / Japan / Korea / Laos selections. So this Nikki Minaj type body can a be a bit too much for me. On the way out to Taormina Casino, I spot this cutie looking at her phone right by the door. Her friend saw me and nudged her. Sensing my interest was with her friend. She's the slimmest one in the entire place Asian slim. Lots of tattoo (not my preference). She wore black rimmed glasses and this somehow adds to the overall package. I decide to sit down next to her (so I can get a closer look thanks to my failing eye sight). I also want to get a more concrete idea on the pricing since from other reports I read, it can start at $150 USD. She basically offered $100 USD for one hour / one pop. She's willing to follow me to Santa Ana if I would pay her taxi fare although she clearly prefers to go to nearby short time hotel (which I would never do as a rule of thumb in a developing or third world countries. Unless I live / work there).

As tempting as it maybe, I also know myself enough. Since I only had one Latin girl prior to this, I know it would take something to blow my mind to get me ready for that first go. So I just took her name and made my way to Taormina. In case you're wondering, HDR (Hotel Del Rey) is dead. Taormina is the new HDR. The lobby, coffee shop, bar, casino. Nook and crannies of the first floor of Taormina is filled with WG. Not unlike Apocalypse in Ho Chi Minh although the setting is the hotel. There's just one who fit my style out of the entire night. In both places, I do have women come up to intro themselves and of course offer their companionship. These tend to be of the lower tier ergo more aggression. Better to have your mask on because as is their culture, they get pretty touchy. Played some poker along the way just enough to win to pay for Uber fare.

Trip To San Jose Part 1.

I arrived at the Sportsmen around 6:45 pm and grabbed the closest girl I could find to get broke in, after all it has been 16 months stuck stateside and I'm ready to cut loose. I probably should have chosen better because the Chica was a bit under performing in my opinion. Airbnb all day in my opinion. On my last trip just before Covid. I stayed in CR for a week. I booked an Airbnb in both San Jose and Jaco. Both were very inexpensive (less than $45 a night) and the SJ place was in a really nice high rise condo. In both places I had zero issues brining girls back. Although I did get awkward smirks fork the guard at the condo! Hope this helps. Planning to go back soon. Wouldn't mind meeting a fellow monger. After years of going at this hobby solo. I'm comfortable enough to seek some hobby bros to navigate these destinations with.

Yep, I just arrived yesterday at the Sportsmen Lodge and everyone had to be out by 9:00 pm so they start closing around 8:00 pm. I did find a nice friendly 23 yr Tica around 8:00 pm, had a drink with her and then headed to my room to romp around.

I called the Hotel Taormina. And they said the US embassy in Costa Rica is wrong. Everything closes at 9. We'll, maybe next year, LOL.
