If you're going to places like Del Rey to find love or anything beyond a business transaction, you seriously need to rethink your priorities. Also if you're basing your opinions on Colombianas based on ones you've met in Del Rey and Beatle Bar you're cheating yourself.

Exactamente amigo. Also a girl in Del Ray fucking for free is unheard of. I know the girls in the Del Ray Union would burn her alive if they found out.

As far as Colombian women go, they have a lady like quality that I would look for in a wife if I was 20 years younger. The DR women beg more and exude sexuality, but I could never trust them if I was looking for a wife.

The Asians are traditional and make good wives also. But I love the Colombian women in Colombia.

I haven't been to Medellin, but I am almost positive I wouldn't agree with liking it more. Colombian women are known culturally to be after the dinero. Although I know all working girls are after the dinero, there is still something that makes the colombian women worst because it is part of their nature. I think they are hot as hell but I have had way too many of them make no emotional connection creating that GFE experience so I totally stay away from them once I hear they're from there.

I enjoy shopping in SJ or anywhere in CR and picking up the market girls just because sometimes I like the change of pace. I am pretty positive from everything I've heard that I have a great chance of a CR chica falling in love with me for me, where as in Medellin that is probably impossible because the girls have some kind of money subconscious. True most guys aren't looking for that, but if I could have a GF in every country to me that would be ideal. I've pulled 2 girls out of Del Rey for free that were awesome, and I've had girls that I paid 100 and they were horrible. That's true of anywhere you go.

That you "don't like the vibe there" but you like to "people watch "is cool. I'm not that tolerant. Medellin is a secret, oh I forgot everyone knows LOL. Medellin is in my top five, CR is in my bottom five JMHO.

Yes most newbies judge CR by the Del Rey and areas close by. But my point is that members get honesty from me and alot of people "sugar coat" things when giving advice. Sure we all have different opinions, but there are some main facts. And for a newbie here are mine about the Del Rey, SL, HLh etc.

1) Del Rey chics ask and are getting 100usd per hour.

2) SL, DR are great guy hangouts.

3) I like HLH.

4) No GFE.

5) TLN can cost 140usd and up.

6) Girls are hardcore.

7) BBBJ has to be pre negotiated.

8) Natives are friendly.

9) Guys have spoiled these girls to much.

Once you go to Medellin, Cr will be off your rotation. You will see a place that hasnt been spoiled (yet). You will see the most beautiful girls in the world with nice attitudes. You will be able to explore different venues. And last but not least you will see a sliding pay scale that you determine. Good Luck.

I think that CR offers a great number of choises to the monger. You can go to MPs or hang out at places like the Del Rey or Sportsmans Lodge or even go to strip clubs. Depending on your 'game' style or whatever you wish to call it you have the chance to do the mongering your way and smart negotiations can get you great TLNs. No spanish skills but lots of common sense can still get you a good time around the gulch.

I do not think you have this flexability in LOS but I will find out next week in Pattaya.

As regards Medellin I find the airfare is a good 20% higher for me from Northern California and I suspect that knowledge of Spanish is a must to do things cost effectively and also to have fun with the girls.

I notice you've been to Medellin. Making my first trip there this October and am just starting to do my homework. I freely admit I know a few CR vets who have fallen in love with Medellin and rarely make it back to San Jose. This might even happen to me!

It WILL happen to you. I don't know anyone whose been to Medellin and CR and prefers the latter, period.

Just got back from my second trip to LOS. 9 days in Pattaya and 5 in Bangkok. Had a really great time. Yet I'm still very much looking forward to my upcoming trip to CR, my 13th, I think, since 2005. Having paid my dues with some mistakes made in my first couple of trips and having developed a number of lasting friendships with both chicas and fellow mongers, I consistently have a great time every trip. I don't waste my time dealing with "hard core, clock watching chicas," and I NEVER pay cien. In fact, I avoid the Del Rey almost entirely, other than to occasionally grab a beer and "people watch." The great majority of the ladies I've dallied with have been super friendly and quite attractive. I've met them by hanging out at the Sportsmens Lodge, Bar Idem, HLH, other lesser known MPs, and via introductions from friends of mine.

My point is that even a veteran monger can have a great time in San Jose, without wasting his time and money. Is it comparable to Medellin or LOS? Not hardly. But it is definitely a viable mongering destination, particularly if one does his homework by spending time researching this board and others (particularly, CRT) and seeking advice, via PMs, from veterans of the CR scene.

Certainly don't agree with your assessment of action in CR. Its always been a Giant size Candy store with rewards and benefits for those who mine the gold nuggets that are in HDR, KL, SL and other places.

Good post, and your on point. After my initial visit two months ago I'm seriously pissed at guys missleading us. Hell, the chicas are more honest than us. They are orgainized and want 100usd per hour and get it.

If you want hard core, clock watching chicas with a boys club enviorment then CR is for you. I don't want to flame but members need honesty. I wasted time and money on this bullshit ass place, because my wingman liked it. He cool, but it wasnt what I thought. The chicas are overated, and over priced. The natives are nice. The food is average. And the Del Ray is bullshit hustling chicas. Now put this in your report of distinction so people understand not to waste their time or money. Or continue with the illusion, I don't care, but for those who do be warned.

Costa Rica is no place for point-and-shoot mongering. Not even in the MPs if you want to have something non-mechanical. You need to talk to them for a while and feel them out. It's pretty easy to see within a couple minutes if they're interested or not.

Since this is your first trip I think the last thing you should do is take a girl to the beach. If you want chicas at the beach you need to go to Jaco for a sure thing. The beach itself in Jaco sucks. It's not fun for swimming, the sand is black and rocky, there are strong currents, and it's attached to the skuzz hole city of Jaco. You can easily take a taxi, bus or find a van ride to Herradura or Hermosa the towns next to Jaco. They are cleaner, close and less populated.

Jaco has the Beatle Bar and Monkey Bar and you can talk to chicas outside, you'll see them at the supers or sodas before or after working. You can tell who they are by their clothing and are usually in groups of 2 or 3.

The previous report is right, Beatle Bar is more cut-throat than Del Rey. Those chicks land careless idiots on most days who over pay. Some of those guys will not even think about forking over 300 dollars. Chicas will all ask 100 for short time, most will go for 80, just hold your ground. It's a fun place, a lot of people hate it, but like anywhere it is what you make it. If you let street riff raff and hardcore chicas get to you, it's not a place for you. They will all go away if you say no though. Find yourself a condo to use versus a hotel. Usually they are cheaper and have everything you would want yet besides a free breakfast.
