My recent trip in Sept was saved by Monica's / Delray was 75% down, very difficult to find any girl who is 5/10. Day time there was nothing to even look at. Quick San Jose Trip Report.

Recently, I did a quick 4-day trip to San Jose. For the first time in all of my visits to Costa Rica, I stayed outside of the famous "gulch," which is the area around the Hotel Del Rey (HDR) and Sportsmen Lodge (SL). I rented an Airbnb in the Rohrmorser Area, an upscale type of area northwest of Sabana Park. This was one of the best lofts that I have rented in a while and the view from the balcony was outstanding (see pics). The building name is "QBO Skyhomes. " My unit was on the 19th floor. Numbers are down quite a bit at certain times of year and generally down from what they were years ago. BUT you can still find some really great girls at the Del Rey. The Morazan doesn't have a chica fee nor does the Taormina. Not familiar with the others but these are 2 that I know.

The Morazan is kind of dumpy but not a total dump. It's much cheaper than the Taormina though and a very very short walk to the Del Rey.

The Taormina requires a taxi, is $25-35 more a night but if I were going where someone from my business might find out where I'm staying I'd go with the more upscale Taormina.

I personally won't go to the Taormina again because it's too expensive and you don't really get that much more for what you pay. Basically it's nicer but it's also further away, and not that much quieter. Depending on the location of your room. To me it's not worth $25 or more extra per night but if money were no object I'd stay there. They have a nice breakfast buffet but it's only included when you stay in certain rooms, not all rooms, so you have to ask or else pay like $12 or more extra fee for a buffet breakfast.

The Morazan has a free breakfast for everyone; again not as nice but the food is okay. The Taormina's bfast if much better.
