From May 3-9, restaurants, bars, department stores, beauty salons, gyms and churches must close in 45 municipalities in central Costa Rica, where almost half the population lives and over two-thirds of new cases have been registered. " We are in an unprecedented situation, and many people are going to die," Health Minister Daniel Salas said after announcing 2,781 new daily infections, a record number. "There are already waiting lists to enter intensive care. ".
The city of San Jose is going into a shutdown, so those that plan on coming here for mongering should divert and go to Jaco Beach. There are many girls from San Jose currently in Jaco, and all you need to go is stay at or near the Cocal Hotel and go to the bar at the Cocal called "Frogs Bar". Although the curfew is at 9 pm, the girls start arriving as early as 6-7 pm and there was an after hours open party next door at the Vista Mar Condos which is the next property over so the curfew is manageable. Every night there were at least over 80 to 100 girls arriving at the Cocal Bar except for Monday and Tuesday which had less girls than that. But we managed to have a good time every day. Hope this helps.

Posts: 6How is the new 9 pm curfew effecting mongering?
Anyone on the ground want to share their experience with the curfew? I had a trip planned at the end of May.

Just remember you are always going to flip the bill.
You can really meet them everywhere just smile and talk. I do not speak fluent but try. Some of the places I have met Ticas:
The mall.
The beach.
The bars.
Restaurants.
Sex shop in the mall.
Tinder.
The airport.
Escazu Tiempo.
Downtown SJ.
Jaco Beach.
Tamarindo.
Manuel Antonio.
Sometimes Uber.
Escazu Walmart.
Point is Ticas are everywhere with a smile on their faces.

Couple of times I had gone with a friend of mine and we find two girls and take them and we split the expenses. I am sure you can find a girl to go with you but make sure you both like each other in the morning and there are no money demands for the trip. Usually I will buy them some touristy things and clothes. One time a nica girl asked $50 for day travel. I said only if she likes to see things and enjoy she can come. She changed her mind after I said we will stay together another night and will get the same amount for LT. So in essence you are keeping her for two nights. Maybe they are worried after the daytime travel they will need to go back on the hunt being tired from the trip. As you know very well these girls sleep all day getting ready for the night.
Driving alone must be really boring!

That sounds like a great way to travel Sammon. I assume you are fluent in Spanish if you are meeting girls in San Jose and they come with you on day trips. I had a vehicle but traveled on my own. I drove to many places, but it would have been great having a chica with me on some day trips. When I went the Hotel Del Rey was open. I drove to Jaco Beach, Manual San Antonio, to a coffee plantation, Arenal etc. I used a translator on my phone. I speak some Spanish but I am not fluent. Where are you meeting these girls to take on day trips?

Met a very pretty Colombian and took her all day trip to Arenal. We had a great time at the hot springs pool all afternoon. People were looking at her and me maybe jealousy.
Took another girl to Jaco and Manuel Antonio, hired a boat and went fishing, island beach, made out on the sand with full view of the boat person who was little far but still could see.
This is the reason why I rent a car. Very adept in driving crowded conditions. Still take full insurance. Helped me couple of times with dings.
One time in Belize somebody smashed the window. I guess they thought of stealing something but I do not keep anything valuable.
People are very nice when driving to out of the way places. Some look at us funny but a smile goes a long way. Having a fully Spanish speaking girl helps. We have been offered drinks in local places by strangers. Only one time a drunk guy wanted to dance with my girl but you should see the fury in my girls face when she threatened him. Spanish girls are feisty.
My thing is wife up, get immersed in culture, drive with abandon.

3 hour drive to Liberia if you rent a car. A private driver is going to be over $150-200 so I don't recommend. If you need a car just for the drive rent one from Alamo or Budget in San Jose and then drop off in Liberia. You can take Rte. 1 all the way and it is a safe and scenic and pleasant drive. But. It is a bit long.

Posts: 552How do I get to Liberia?
Hi folks, I am coming to Costa Rica next month to meet my beautiful lady in Liberia. I will be flying in to San Jose. What is the best and easiest way to get to Liberia from San Jose? I plan on spending the first night in San Jose, then finding my way to Liberia the next morning.
Is there a bus to Liberia? Would a private car be reasonably cost efficient? I haven't a clue. Thanks.
