Hey, I've been reading the thread for a while now and plan on making my first trip at the end of the year. Just curious because I've never seen it mentioned, how is the general cleanliness of the most popular MPs? I've visited a ton of AMPs where I live state side and it's been a regular topic of discussion over on the USA site how gross these places can be. For one thing, those sheets are almost never changed. At best, they lay down a towel, which may or may not be clean itself, on top of the sheets. Not uncommon to see spooge stains. Nice. I'm not a squeamish dude, hell I've sessioned enough in those spots myself, just curious what the hygiene situation was like over there. I once got a persistent rash around the corners of my eyes from visiting a local area MP. I'd rather avoid that kind of stuff.

I think Morazan is the best deal out there. Or the Castillo. However, first time to CR, I would recommend Balmoral.

For your first trip to San Jose, I would not recommend you stay at the Balmoral Hotel. It is well located to the action...but there are better places.

The Hotel Castillo for one.....less expensive, very chica friendly...no extra chica fees....and just a all round great place to stay.

My next choice would be the Sportsmans Lodge .....a great friendly place with an American ower---on site manager...Bill.....good bar, good food, and working chicas on site. You will need reservations at both of these hotels...they fill up fast.

IMHO, there are much better options than the Balmoral (why pay a BS chica fee?) and the Presidente (asshole management who have a very subjectively enforced chica "dress code" that could cause you headaches).

I know of four specific veteran mongers who have had MAJOR problems with the Presidente re their subjectively enforced dress code and other issues, and all these guys are very mature and "laid-back." Two of them were longtime customers of this hotel, and they now refuse to stay there. Another friend of mine, a San Jose hotel owner himself, was specifically told by one of the Presidente owners that they are no longer interested in catering to us mongers, preferring to pursue business people and eco-tourists.

Yes, you can certainly run into friendly staff there, but shifts and personnel are always in flux. Problems people have had with the Presidente are much more documented on CRT. In fairness, some of the guys still love the place. I would rather, stay, however, at a hotel that genuinely welcomes my patronage and allows me to bring multiple chicas back to my room with not even an eyebrow raised!

I have no doubt that what you say is true and if they ever not let me bring a girl back to the hotel, I will stop staying there. Until then, I enjoy the place. I cannot monger 24/7 like I would have to at Del Rey.

As for the type of client they want, if it is eco-tourists, move the hotel to Arenal. As for business people, I have a couple of friends who travel for business and word will quickly get around that you could not bring girls back to the hotel and they will stop going there.

Your reports confirm the limited action in the other than Jaco beach areas My thoughts were to head to a nice beach when I visit in Feb Oct/Nov is for Jaco/SJ I just might find me a chica to show me around. I would not be too fussy for a driver/companion A solid 6 or 7 that takes a liking to me will suffice.

I plan to do some interviewing in Nov for a chica guide I understand the potential for criminal acts etc Hence my goal of face to face interview.

Gladly will accept any rec's or pointers.

Check out Dunn Inn. Their standard room is about $50/night with no chica fee. They are on the web at www.Hoteldunninn.com and have a USA toll free reservation number.

It would behoove you to get a CRT card. You can get discounts all around San Jose, as well as at many hotels there. It is $39/yr and will more than pay for itself in one trip. The Dunn Inn manager Boyd can fill you in on the details. Tell him Crazyhorse sent you.

You are in the exact situation I was 3 years ago. I just jumped in head first after RTFF very thoroughly. I chose the Balmoral Hotel for my first visit and it was a great choice. The gave me a room that overlooked the main walkway/marketplace just one block from the gulch. Only a 2 minute walk to the Del Rey. When I arrived I just looked down into the street for nearly an hour just getting used to being in a different country. I printed maps, that can be found on this site, and slowly gathered my walking bearings based on the Del Rey, Morazan Park ect. I stayed very aware, and prepared for the worst(ie being robbed ect.) There is a chica fee at Balmoral, so plan accordingly and the rooms ar 80/ night. I did the yahoo airfare combo deal.

On another note, the Presidente seems to be very well respected by the chicas, and they always seem impressed when you say that you are staying there. The women were usually more than happy to stay all night for 60 while staying at the Presidente.

I am a senior member in Baltimore, but have never ventured outside the US. Have an opportunity to be in SJ for a few days. I have spent hours rtff, feel well informed and confused a bit as well. Can't quite figure the layout for good action with chicas.

In short want a hotel near the action, fairly safe, chica friendly and very accessible (can find them in walkind distance) Would prefer to keep room to a total of $50 a night. Will take a cab from the airport. I am assuming DR is a bit pricy as it seems most are staying near there. I am also assuming that it is in the center of the action as every one seems to want to be as close to there as possible. Hook a brother up. Give me the SJ for dummies!

Hey Brother,

For some info on Manual Antonio & Quepos CR----search the forum for my user name- stevewxly....I have written several reports on that area.

Also I have been to the Atlantic coast of CR a few times and did not find any decent action over there.

Puerto Vi-a-hole...was just that....an asshole-type place.

But if you are into 20ish year Euro backpacker gals and drugs---you might like it there.
No significant P4P action there though or anywhere that i could find on the Caribbe side of CR.

Anyone have any info regarding the Hallows Eve celebration on 10/31/ in Jaco?

Have airfare confirmed for early Feb and would like to explore the Pacific coastal area.

I am especially interested in the P4P in the Manuel Antonio area. If none, I might as well go to the Carribbean coast. Maybe

Planning on doing this in Feb when weather is nicer and return to North US with a nice CR tan!

Day 3

Pops, Speakno and I did the tour this morning and hit a few spots and MPs. Also did lunch at Soda Peru. Sitting at SL bar w/Lomo and Speakno. We are currently staring at Lucy and Vanessa and a few others whose name we don't know and thinking Damn! Going to hit Relax/Idem in just a few minutes.

Wow is all that I can say for Thursday's activities. Started the day off on a tour of SJ w/Pop's and Speakno. Various sights seen and a few MP's toured just to see the process and rooms. Muses, HLH, and another small 1 whose name I cannot recall. In between the walk from Soda Peru (which had a great menu and lunch food which we did partake) and Del Ray. Also went to Dunn Inn where BKtuna gave us a tour of some of his rooms and also the new Gaming/Poker/Nightlife center which hopefully will be open by end of OCT. Looks to be awesome.

In the afternoon a few of us wanted to try out an MP, so we trekked it to Relax/Idem. As it was well before 3pm we went into Relax since we had heard Idem wasn't open yet, and they had probably around 8-10 girls out. I scanned the line-up and immediately chose a short cutie with long curly hair. She led me upstairs and we proceeded to go into the small muggy room with bed and fan. Ok insert point< going as a group in hindsight we should've discussed procedure and what times we were getting in order to save time and troubles afterwards wondering where the others were or what we should do, be it go or wait. SHe asked me my name and I asked her, and whoa and behold I chose FABIOLA w/o knowing. I immediately recognized her name and was very happy with my decision. She is a little cutie for sure. I chose the 30min session for 25 and she took a shower and came back to room and proceeded to give me a nice BBBJ, Doggie, Missionary. We then just laid around talking for the final 29 minutes. LOL JK! No jokes needed. We both showered together afterwards. As stated in previous threads, she is worth the money.
