Halloween week is one, if not the busiest tourist weeks in San Jose. Most of the parties will be on Nov. 2nd and the majority of rooms are booked already. However, I am in touch with the hotels in the Gringo Gulch on a daily basis. As of yesterday, there are only about 25-30 rooms available. If anyone needs help securing a room, pm me fast. More than likely they will be gone and the only rooms left will be the Chica un-friendly ones. There will be rooms available in Jaco and I will run a shuttle from Jaco to San Jose on November 2nd if there is enough interest. The shuttle will leave Jaco at 4 pm and return at 1:30 a. M. Good thing about the airfares at this time, they are lower than most time of the year. R. T. From Chicago $384, L. I have brought to this board the problem numerous SJ reg's are having with your irregular hours especially in view of your bad location. I posted about that and quoted from other posts and suggested your place needs to be run on Gringo time and not Tico time. And this was your response:

Of all the bars / restaurants I have ever been to in SJ or CR, yours is the only one that runs on Tico time, and on steroids. For the new guys, Tico Time means forget the scheduled appointment, maybe later, but maybe not. Nobody complains about 20 minutes especially if they can walk to another place. Pirate Club is different and way out of the way (and not a great area) from where 95% of the gringos stay and play so they have to leave when you are not open.

You can stop the bad posts on both boards by remembering you may be in CR where certain Ticos run on tico time, but your clientele are Gringos. Open regular hours and guys will stop bitching. And you'll do good.

I remember a while back, a guy posted on the other board that girls were asking for drinks, guys would do so, and then the girl would order the most expensive drinks in the house. And I remember other guys posting they had the same experience.

And I remember your response (when you used to respond to neg posts there-you have quit doing so)

Your reply post was: "When you take your kids to McDonald's, you don't make them buy off the dollar menu do you?" I think that ended your posting days after 20 guys posted what they thought about that.

And stop the girls mooching for drinks. Gringos are generous. They'll buy a drink for a girl they have an eye on. But they don't want to pay for a $17 rip.

Improve the attitude of your manager who within the past 3 weeks wouldn't give a new customer change for a $US20 so he could pay the taxi that brought him. So he bought a drink, got change, and he went and paid. And then she had words under her breath when he got back. Want me to post his post? And the follow ups? She's quickly got the nick name "Battle Axe."

Get a phone number that works. It would save a lot of guys wasting their time and cab fare if you are going to be closed. You said on the board you would fix that glaring problem.

Revise your website. In your FAQ page, you say that the girls have health cards and are checked regularly or something like that. Guys can google your club and find it. You know that is impossible. Falsehood. Misleading and may lull a drunk to think he needn't wear protection. There aren't health cards anywhere in CR. There is no system for working girls' getting medical checks and health cards anywhere in CR. That often abused tale told to tourists, not just by you, is the biggest lie in CR. Here's an idea, buy a free drink for every guy who doesn't get to see a girls health card or certificate. That's reasonable-correct this lie or buy a drink? You'll post here that you will honor that deal by tomorrow so guys can go and start drinking free, right? I bet by Monday you'll have that taken off your website. And if I am wrong you'll pack the place.

This member complains about my business being run poorly and I should learn from the Gringo gulch how to run an American business. You mean run it like the Rey or NF or where should I learn from? Do you have a business that I can come learn from? Are you an American business owner here in CR? As an American who owns a business for over 5 1/2 years in CR I did what all Americans with any integrity would, when a complaint is published. Everyone knows some business owners don't give a F*K if you have a problem or not. I know some people who are reluctant to talk directly to a business owner, some people cannot handle confrontation some people are afraid to engage in an honest conversation. So I personally posted a message to Dgfd to let him know I would be glad to meet for a sit down and a Beer. What kind of American turns down an invitation for a free beer?

You can read the messages here on ISG (International Sex Guide) no answer no response. Dgfd just came back on this site and began another negative post about the Pirate. Does that sound like an American? Or someone with an agenda? The sad part is he will not even disclose his real name to me. Why would you be reluctant to disclose who you are? How is it that every time you came to my Club I am not there? And then you end up having a problem? Does that mean I need to be there 24/7 so when you show up all will be well?

Everyone knows my name is Ken everyone knows I can be approached in the Club and will listen, talk and have friendships and conversations with my customers. Everyone knows I am NOT a gangster, I am not part of the mob, and I can be approached. I am just a country boy from Carolina who likes Latin women and tries to provide a place for people to have fun. Why hide behind the site, post multiple stories that do not add up?

I have customers (Americans) who live and work here in CR who have been coming to the Pirate for 5 years! Dgfd Are you saying my American customers who have enjoyed the Pirate for years and years, and they do not know what a good Club is? Are you saying that ISG members who support the Club are wrong? Are you saying that the Ticos and Ticas that support and work at the Pirate do not know where to have fun and party? Yes you have the right to post what you want even if it is weak and inconsistent. You paid for you membership like I did to post here, you had an invitation to come sit down and talk face to face after you told me how you would love to see the Club be successful, I wanted to meet you in person to resolve any issues. But you would not even respond.

I have built businesses all my life when you have a problem you deal with it in a professional way. In business 101, you try to solve the problem not hide behind the internet and make claims about the Club that change every day. I am not hiding, I am at the Club, if someone over charged you or offended you or disrespected you then meet me in person and deal with it, Tell me their name, give me a date when this happened give me some facts besides posting comments from another person from another website and bit and pieces of your story mixed in with no facts. If I am to correct a problem I have to have all the facts not bits and pieces.

In this members mind (Dgfd) I need to be more American in Latin country, sorry this is CR not the USA. So which part of this story do I address? My business, in a Latin Country? Or my American business in a Latin country? I am American who runs a business in Costa Rica plain and simple. If you go to our website or ask anyone who is a customer you get the same answer that was posted here in this site? We open at 4 pm most of the time that means anywhere from 3 pm to 4 pm the door opens if the door is closed we let people in early who may arrive early. Yes there have been a couple of days we actually did not open until 4:15 maybe even 5 pm.

We made mistake. Can you imagine? A business in CR that did not open exactly on time? WOW! How could we be so foolish not to open exactly at 4 pm sharp! I am sure this probably happened at least 4 or 5 times in 5 years. How could we be so careless? I guess my Tica manager who worked in the gulch 15 years ago in the Key Largo made a mistake. She might have gotten caught up in traffic while riding the Bus to SJ for work. Wait do we need to tell the CR government that they need to be more American and have the Buses on time every day! I am trying to remember where I can go that everyone and everybody is on American time here in Costa Rica a country who just recently came out of the third world status in the last 15 years.

Why is it so important to Dgfd that everything here be on American time? Why is it so important that I be like the gulch? The Pirate Club is on Avenue 10 in the Southwest part of San Jose what does the gulch have to do with having fun in CR? Why does Dgfd keep referring to my location? Why is so important that the Pirate have any relationship to the word gringo gulch? The Pirate Club is open to everyone and we have customers visit from all over the world? We don't discriminate against any nationalities.

One fact that most members here do not know on ISG (International Sex Guide) is The Pirate Club used to be called Bar Dandy and one of the oldest and most well-known Pensions in the Country of Costa Rica. As a matter of fact the same owner of Idem MP was the previous owner of the Pirate Club, which I have a working relationship with that owner. Idem and Bar Dandy has been two of the longest lasting Pensions in Costa Rica starting back in the early 80s, with respect we did not change the name of Bar Dandy the previous owners changed the name, we took advice from the successful owner who has over 25 years' experience. Our girls are Latin women they are not American, they will always live and act like Latin women and will be on Latino time, with Latin lifestyle that is why all these Americans and All international travelers visit Costa Rica because of the Latin women. Americans and other foreigners want something different and we provide that experience.

My manager is excellent with our customers. She knows how to treat a customer and how to deal with problems!

Dgfd I am really sorry, how could we be so stupid not to have change for all the Taxis that come to the Pirate Club we only get about 30 taxis a day, How could we be so dumb not to provide change for you?

Get my point? Dgfd You made a big deal out of the Club having change. Why did you enter my club angry and aggressive and talk almost to the point of screaming at my manager for change? Why would you go to a massage parlor and act like an ass? Dgfd you claim Marisol gave you a lecture? OMG you are so weak, everyone who knows the Pirate and knows Marisol is sweet as sugar, our customers hug her when they come into the Club, Marisol is the Manager, mom and friend of the Club she doesn't have the personality to lecture anyone.

The problem arises again we don't know which guy we are talking too? You make a claim, you had a problem? Now a second party (topman24) is taking claim for alleged events and postings from an outside website? Also this person (topman24) is back peddling about the statement of the Friday night 10 pm closing. Of course because Dgfd made the post in January. About some GUYS that claim (Guys take a cab on Friday at 10pm and its closed.) That was you? Or the second party? Topman24 did not have enough information to know the whole story, yet we now see his claim posted on this board. But you say it was his story and not yours? Neither story has any real facts and neither story matches with the other.

Now I am being told this is an issue from the outside monger website, why are we talking about an outside website? Dgfd started all this as if he was making the complaint, now Dgfd has another person who is in the mix and the GUYs that went on Friday night? Lots of people involved since Dgfd started this story. Now he has involved another website (Monger site) that is owned by a CR business owner, in other words, the competition. I personally think the owner of that website has more integrity to be involved and probably be would be upset that Dgfd brought his website into these claims.

Another claim says, that we charge Gringo Tax. All our pricing is equal for everyone, we use a computer system with set pricing that prints out receipts, for every customer to view. If this guy really claims being Gringo Taxed! Look at the receipt; sorry we don't have a Gringo button in our computer.

The pattern of these claims has so many weak points and so few facts. How am I supposed to make sense of any of these claims?

Dgfd complains he comes to the club to see a girl that has not worked there in 1 1/2 years and now I call him on his BS he gets another person involved to say this was a post from another site? Wait a minute? Hold the phone! Which story is true? You coming to the Bar, and asking for change for your Taxi? Or coming to the Club for Trisha? I am confused wow! Which story is true Dgfd?

Let's sum up this whole claim game. Dgfd

1. You came into the Club a few times, many times, several times? You claim all three. Which one is it or will that change again?

2. A Guy told you the Club was closed on a Friday night? Hmm which guy? You post a claim based on some guy?

3. You came to the Pirate from Idem to see Trisha? What year was that? She has been away for some time now. What's your point? You claim you know the Pirate but you come there to see a girl that has been gone for over a year and half? You support Idem and yet you trash Pirate Club. Both Idem and Pirate were once owned by the same person! Yes I know the owner of Idem, I respect him very much, I have followed some of his traditions, business ethics and standards at the Pirate Club.

4. You make complaints about the Pirate but you say it was really about another guy on another webpage? Why? So you're repeating a posting from another website? Why? Please clear up this story for all of us! You did accomplish on thing Dgfd, you got our attention. We all want to see how this story turns out.

5. Your making quotes from another (monger site) on ISG? I joined for information from ISG not another website!

6. Now you have second party taking claim he made the posting? Originally you made the complaint. You state we are never open on time! You claim we don't have a phone? Our phone line has been a working ICE number for over 7 years. Ask my manager how many times a day it rings! Do you have multiple personalities? Are you the second shooter on the grassy knoll? Better yet are you also the GUY that came on Friday that night?

7. What do we call you? Dgfd? Or do you have different names?

Trying to put this story together is like nightmare, like your grandmother kissing you and slipping you the tongue. It makes you sick thinking about it, all the ISG members have to suffer through your (claims) and postings. For that I apologize to all the ISG members. However I cannot allow my business, my staff and the Pirate girls to be put down unjustly!

You told me today, you are a business owner here in Costa. Please tell us all, about your business, what kind of business it? What is the name? Where are you located?

Tell us how your American business is being run in Costa Rica! Now that you have made such a point here on ISG, and you have our attention, many of my customers have seen your post and they want to more about you and who you are? They want to meet you; they want to see how you run your business! Please tell us, so we can all learn.

These claims Dgfd are unjust; let me say one thing about this other site you constantly bring to this ISG.

The previous owner of the site you keep bringing to ISG. I know him, he and I are friends, he told me one day he was so sick and tired of the negative comments, of his own website. So many members had joined that site only to complain and whine and cause problems and use the site to trash other business owners, he told me he was sick and tired of it all, and that his vision for the had been had been lost. I know he was tired and ready to sell and get out, when he created his site his vision was to promote tourism and local businesses for the better good of all in CR, it is sad to see how it ended. I have no idea what goes on over there, I am not a member and I do not visit that site. I have no ties or problems with the new owners for that matter. I joined the ISG website because it is the International website for Mongering and not contaminated by any biased reports. That is why I support this site! I want to say to All ISG members I hope this type of stories will be sorted out and that this site never gets out of control. I have put a lot of thought who would be so vindictive and careless to put this weak juvenile tale together? Yes I have had to kick a few people out of the Pirate from time to time in the last 5. 5 years for various reasons and I supposed that would cause some resentments. I had to make business decisions to protect my customers and my girls.

Just came back after a weekong trip and my observations are 100% in line with yours. One has to spend hours at delray to find a good looking girl, the sessions are mostly lifeless, girls don't do it to give you a memorable sex. Sportsman was totally hopeless when I checked it out twice, relax MP was a shadow of its former lune up quality I saw in 2012. Only 360 saved the day.

Looks like lack of business equals lack of good looking girls at delray. I don't think I saw one girl that I would have paid happily just to see her naked.

The only solace is that most girls were semi pros and not one of them said no to my offer of $50+$10 propina.

I was in San Jose last week for 3 days, Friday Saturday and Sunday and had the absolute worst time. A lot of fat ugly hags and very few true sweethearts.

I am not looking for love at the Del Rey but I am looking for someone who is open, friendly, warm and not about rushing to the bedroom. Perhaps it was bad luck as in the past I had a lot of luck. It does seem to me though that the talent has declined significantly compared to even four years ago. I did find a few good ones at the Del Rey but it was a hassle, and alot of the time I felt bothered by the girls as they wouldn't just leave me alone to find a good looking girl!

The girls at the Sportsmen were better, a little more friendly and outgoing and I had a better time with them. I didn't go to any MPs. I have tried a few places and have to say Colombia and Curacao are better both in terms of things to do and girls.

Paid $100 at the Del Rey and $80 at Sportsmen roughly. They need to implement a door tax of some sort to keep ugly hags out, I can get a 200 lb black chick here in Canada, I don't need to pay for that! I pay for small cute spinners.

That was my post that Dgfd quoted from another forum. Everything I wrote was true, except I think the beer may have cost 1.40 more and not 1.50, I can't recall. That was my experience and yes the place was closed at 10 pm, I never said it was on a Friday so I'm not quite sure where you got that from. I stayed away from posting for a while because I had nothing to post about till now. What is your problem or better yet agenda? The Pirate Club is clean, friendly, safe, and cheap by others standards in relation to the girls and the BTW the girls are hot and fun and I have had some of my best times mongering there and I have traveled the world so I know from what I speak.

Costa Rica needs more places to have the standards in all these categories so the bar is raised not lowered. You say its not near all the hotels where the guys stay, my friends just stayed at the Intercontinental who came here and going to Pirate was a straight shot off the pista without the hassle of going downtown. You assume everyone stays in the Gringo Gulch and that does a disservice to the cool new hotels like the Loft or the Beacon in Escazu where my cousin stayed when him and his friends came because it was near the New Caldera Hwy since they wanted to go back and forth to Jaco during their week here. So rather than define who and why someone comes here to label something far away get your head on the positive track and not just what you think is happening in Costa Rica today not 5 years ago when those options didn't exist. It's hard enough in this economy for the country to get new people to put this on there mongering list of places to go to and having someone just bash, bash, bash keeps everyone's business down because variety is what brings people to explore a new place not just the same ole same ole. Nothing you have put on here I have ever found to be true in regards to your bleak assessment of the Pirate Club. So either you just have an axe to grind or someone is paying you to keep steering them to the same ole same ole.

Step up or step off but know some of us are on to you and would like to meet you and see what makes you go out of your way to trash a place that has been awesome in my time since I have moved here to me and all my friends who have come for a visit. It makes no sense to trash places like the Pirate Club when there should be more places like the Pirate Club so we could all have more fun and bring new visitors to Costa Rica and the girls could make more money and more money brings out more new girls which what all good Mongers are looking for to spend their money and time with. 1. pirates club. one lucky dogg will be at the pirates club san jose tonight to give you guys a report on all the action. i hear rumors that there is new talent at the shipyard. anyone who cares to join me, i will be there around 7 pm for the show. going to try and get a few photos to share.

2. hotel little havana is making changes and should be back better than ever. an old staple in the gringo gulch area, with a great staff and friendly service.

3. the all inclusive deal at the amistad seems to be paying off for matt as he is running near occupancy. must be the 50 lb. pork chop he serves? really not that big but i promise you it's the biggest you've ever seen. make sure you gnaw that bone as all good doggs do.

4. looks like bill at the sportsmen lodge is all geared up for football season. nice crowd there last night watching pre-season games. my falcons did not look too good last night against the bengal but it is pre-season. let's go dirty birds. all the guys there watching football and guess what, all the girls are there watching the guys.

5. mona lisa hotel / casino and poker rooms is making big strides. the monthly poker tournament is this sunday and pays $5,000 guaranteed to the winner. it's is an invitational tournament for the guys and gals who have played at least 50 hours at the m. l. in the month of july. no buy in fee. not a bad chunk of change. daily cash games as well. yorleny now has expanded her services and offers the absolute best therapeutic deep tissue massage for you guys who are coming in off of a long flight. special pricing for o. l. d. vip members.

If you are so concerned with the share that the girls get, you always have the option to tip them to bring the amount to an acceptable level. I'd be willing to bet that you have never given a chica a tip in CR in your life. Probably because that's what us stupid gringos do, right? Guys like you don't tip because locals don't tip. Locals can't afford to tip, most can't even afford the price much less a tip. And no matter how much you want to believe so, you are not a local. Don't get me wrong, I don't throw money around freely and without resaon, but when a girl works her ass off (literally) , I have no problem giving her 5K ($10). It doesn't affect me one bit, but will make a difference to her. I don't tip because I feel they don't get enough pay. I tip for good service only. Whatever agreement they have with their bosses is their business. I don't ask because I couldn't care any less.

It's interesting that the guys who complain most about chicas not getting a fair share of the price are the ones who never tip to make up the "shortfall".

$15 to your hotel, huh? I have never hear of any chica in CR going to a guy's hotel for less than $40, and that's low. I've been going since 2005. Please post some pics. I'd love to see this hottie.
