Here's another guys post from a CR board.
After spending some time at Bar Idem during the evening of the last Thursday in June to see if my friend Karen was available (she was occupied) , I decided to take a taxi to the Pirate Club to check out the scene. I've been there a number of times in the past, mainly to session with a petite flaca named Tricia who had a delightful set of very large naturals. Anyway, I arrive at the Pirate Club around 8pm to discover I hadn't any small bills left to pay my taxista, who claimed he couldn't even break a c10,000 note. So I rush into the essentially empty club and request cambio to pay my driver. This request went over like a lead balloon. The young female bartender and a middle-aged to elderly battle axe with reddish hair who must have been a manager huffed and puffed and eventually decided to convert my c10,000 note into two c5,000 notes. Not very anxious to pay my driver what amounted to $10 or so US for a $2 dollar ride, I politely requested some smaller denominations. They refused! Frustrated, I then just ordered the Bavaria Gold I was going to order in the first place, and, presto, my change rapidly appeared. I went outside to pay my driver and came back in to drink my beer, anxious to get the hell out of this place. Needless to say, the mood was broken! The only lady who seemed available came over and sat down next to me. She was friendly but not at all my type. When I mentioned to her in my semi-fluent Spanish that I'the been in here a number of times and didn't appreciate the rude treatment, the afore-mentioned battle axe overheard me and proceeded to give me a lecture in decent English about the need to always have small bills to pay the taxistas! I just gave her a sarcastic smile, chugged my remaining beer and fled. Not sure I'll ever be back. At best, this place is hit or miss and can be somewhat of a pain in the ass to get to, as I've encountered a number of taxi drivers who didn't know where it was. And I've never been very impressed with the attitudes and demeanor of the staff. I'm referring to the bartenders and management, not the working ladies.

I was first in C. R. In 1985.
You were most likely not around then.
I am asking for information to help the new Mongers.
So, just help them and fill in the Blanks.
I do not make any money like some of the other people on this site.
You seem to have gotten lost on just giving helpful information to the Newbies?
I will check Matt's info about the Amistad. As for the rest, yes I just copied what other Mongers Posted and there Opinions.
So, what is the Beef?
I am not trying to One Up anyone, I am just supplying Information. How about You?
As you will find, I did make changes to the Hotel List on the Map!
So, Tell Us More What Is Wrong with the Chica Lists and the Hotel List. Help US?
I will Make Changes to benefit All Of Us.
Thank You for your Contribution.

One other question, did you compile these lists from scratch or lift them from another source? Just curious.

In Jaco pool side now but I really enjoyed the Amistad. Great food and the owners and staff took care of me like family. I'll post photos when I am back home. Did not hear train.

I agree La Amistad is a very good place to stay and food is very good. Train was a big issue for me when I stayed last year because of the horn at 6:00 am. Didn't care for that at all.
$79 all inclusive sounds good, but I thought breakfast was already included? Also, are there girls there now? They weren't there when I was there. Don't think I'll be there drinking with a bunch of guys in CR. That defeats the whole purpose of going to CR for me. Plus, I'm out wondering around by afternoon. Don't think I'd be going back there just to get my free dinner while I'm on vacation, but hey that's just me. I rather get some discount on the room and call it good. To each his own.
