I was in san jose costarica in Aug. 2014 and I visited the dell rey the prostitutes there were not very attractive except the bartenders and they all looked indian I didn't see any that had caucasion features I also visited a few other brothels in the day time and same thing. Also, it is important to realize the first price out of the pharmacist's mouth is more of a suggestion or hoped for price, and you can counter with the price that you would like to pay, and then there can be negotiation. This is socially acceptable and even expected. You can also "vote with your feet" and you may find the price dropping as you get closer to the door!

The rooms were kind of worn out and smelled like chlorine-gone-bad. Not sure if this is a good place for children. My teenage son was really happy about the other patrons and would disappear for an hour at a time after asking us for money. I'm not sure what was going on there but he was almost mad when we left. There was a really nice man standing out front that offered our teenage daughter a summer time job if she wanted to return when school was out-which I thought was really nice of him. The food was okay but it all smelled and tasted of fish. I spent all my time gambling but my wife, who isn't into gambling, did better than I. She later said she found a new game to play. Ate breakfast at hotel which was included. Good location next to Gran Hotel. Bought some stuff from the walking mall shops.

Brief scare- withdrew money from ATM and lost my Paypal card. Quickly canceled card and transferred money to another account for a zero balance. Deactivated all the other accounts.
