There are "pimping" laws in CR that make it illegal for establishments like the Del Rey and SL, both owned by "foreigners" BTW, from getting involved with arranging "monger satisfaction." These ladies are thus by law defined as independents. These laws are admittedly confusing and selectively enforced, but, believe me, if the Del Rey and SL tried doing what you and our newbie superstar Samata61 seem to be recommending, e. G,"pick the girls that work there," they would be shut down in a heartbeat. These types of comments reflect a complete ignorance of the realities on the ground.

As I've previously stated, mongers who actually know the CR scene and know how to play the game generally don't have much of a problem finding nice ladies who aren't fat with sagging tits for a "reasonable" price. Yes, there is some controversey about what constitutes a "reasonable" price, but, believe me, Samata61 was willing to grossly overpay. I am a guy who mostly opts for 1-2 hour short-time sessions, and I generally pay in the $50-80 range for independents, such as those that hang out at the SL. I'm not a big fan of the DR, but this price range is definitely viable there as well, most of the time. Sure, some of the ladies will insist on cien. Just be polite and move on. I have two close friends who have the advantage of living in San Jose, and they pay much less than me for a similar encounter. Heck, I'm willing to admit I probably overpay a bit.

Imagine how you might react if some complete newbie visited Medellin for the first time and spent his entire stay at Aussie Greg's "Medellin Mansion," and boldly proclaims in his TR that Medellin is too expensive and the quality of the girls is terrible and that are a bunch of places with much better girls at the same price or cheaper. In Samata61's defense, he did at least make it to Jaco, hitting a place I like even less than the Del Rey, the Beetle Bar.

BlackBeards (owned by foreigners) in the Dominican Republic shoots down your whole first paragraph. The Dominican Republic has laws that forbid pimping. The resort is set up for male single travelers. The girls are tested, are encouraged to smile and be receptive, and are supposed to respect the resorts guests. From having lunch, to a walk on the beach, to spending all night (independent girls can do these things not ask for 100usd for an hour then run off) , to off the resort dates (no sex) to see the Dominican experience. Black beards is not in any way involved in profitting from sex (you pay the girl not them). They make sure the guests are NOT ripped off basically. Maybe they deal with the once a year police checkup (payoff). But if your telling me an establishment doesn't reserve the right to decide who gets allowed on the property and who is not, maybe I'm not the only one "that reflects a complete ignorance". I know your going to say CR and the DR are different places, but its the same model.

I will agree with you that most of the Mongerers stay in the Del Rey, and vacinity and never branch out. But last time I checked there werent alot of other reports about different areas. First outside destination we hear are Jaco, and the Beatle bar. Please don't get me started on that place. So 'Honest Samata61" comes to this board and goes by what he has read, and ends up in Del Rey. I respect his HONEST reporting about over paying more than some guy that "knows the game", has friends there, and states he overpays (50usd) at Hotel Del ray.

Maybe what this board needs is an HONEST person who "has connections" and" knows the game" to educate us about their experiences outside of the Del Rey area. Are you willing to help us overpaying Del Rey Junkies?

FYI in my forum"Mr Gogo in the DR", I do trip reports (and pics) from all over the island and try to distribute all the HONEST info a newbie or veteran would need to know before traveling. Being no info is on this board like this, I have two assumptions: 1). Either everyone is keeping their secrets. 2). Only a few who selectively sanitize CR, really like it. The only place which makes an attempt at quality as far as I am aware of is IDEM otherwise it is up to you to flush out the type of women you want. Some of the strip clubs too try to chose their dancers but you have to know the good ones from the rip-offs.

For a first timer it can be difficult to find the classy women he wants and in that case some of the following techniques are recommended:

1 A guided tour by an expat. For a day to show you the kind of places that would appeal to you. Could cost you around $50 to $60 but well worth it to get the kind of girls you want.

2 Join CRT and meet some of the members at their hangouts and reap the benefits of their local knowledge.

3 Speak fluent Spanish and develop an interview technique to get the girls you want and like.

I just read your trip report for your recent trip to CR. Having gone to Thailand (you don't say how many trips you made there). One would expect for you to be fairly knowledgeable about mongering in foreign lands. But after reading about your exploits in CR. I can say that you manged to do just about everything 'Bassackwards' when you were in San Jose and Jaco.

You were there only 6 days and by my count you perhaps spent around $ 2500 to 3000. 00 (or more) for this trip not counting your airfare to and from home. For 6 days. ?

I have gone to CR before (in Oct. 2009 to Jan 2010) on a 90 day trip and spent about 1/3 of what you spent. And again I was there for 90 days.

I stayed in San Jose for about 80-85 days of that trip, but also make a trip to Jaco Beach and back as you did. But I spent around $ 1000. 00. For 90 days.

I did have a FREE place to stay. In that I had a house sitting gig for most of that trip. I was in a large mansion. 7 bedrooms. 7 baths, with a great pool for most of that trip.

I got laid perhaps about 2-3-4 times per week for that time. I also found a nice 38 year old nurse for some GFE. Found here one night at the HDR. But never went back into the HDR for about another 4-5 weeks.

She was some genuine. ' Girl friend experience'. I had a generally good time but got sick at the end with a stomach virus and had to cut my trip short to come back to the VA hospital (in the US) for some meds and treatment.

Found out later. That I could have got all that sickness taken care of at any of the local hospitals in San Jose for about $35. 00 for a Dr's visit plus the cost of the appropriate medications. (All I needed were some good antibio pills)

It is no wonder that you say you would not go back to CR. Because you simply did most everything wrong on your trip. As opposed to what I have done and would do again.

Of course I have made perhaps a dozen trips over the last 7-8 years to CR. And have learned a few things about going there.

Maybe you should write a book on your experiences in Costa Rica and call it," Costa Rica For Dummies ".

With all due respect, of course you would not go back, and I have never heard anyone pay so much in CR in my 7 years of travel. Sorry to say this, but this is must reading for newbies- read this and learn about every mistake not to make. He never negotiated for services, paid goofy rates, and in general did not seem like he RTFF. The culture and scene is different in CR than in BKK- you have to learn how to play the game.

You are taking my report too personally and no one comments pisses me off since everyone is entitled to their opinion. Should this report as 'Stevewxly' called it 'what not to do when in your CR' then it is still a positive contribution to ISG form and someone will benefit from it.

I always budget $500 or 500 Euro (if in Europe) per day for mongering and food so I was within my budget even if it seems for somebody that I spent too much. When I spend this money anywhere in the world, I get consistent quality and that was not the case in CR. I simply don't have 90 days to waste anywhere and 6 days was too long for my typical mongering trip as my trips are usually 3-4 days; I had 8 different girls and was laid 14 times during these 6 days so it was not for the lack of trying.

Maybe what I could not comprehend: why most of the girls have kids resulting in stretch marks and saggy breast. Make sure to see the girl's stomach before you go to the room so you won't be disturbed; God some of these girls looked great in cloths.

HDR has some lookers, some medium, some really ugly, and fat girls who by their admittance have not have a customer for over a month. Further, some have been working in HDR for over 3 years? Maybe the problem is HDR or where I went in general but I truly fail to see why HDR allows these ugly fat girls or allows the same girls to work there for 3 years! It seems to me that such establishment should be very picky about these girls, change them at least once a year for the benefit of their customers, and I am sure that there are tons of girls who would love to work there.

I had a good time and CR is a beautiful country but I will not go back because I can simply find countries as beautiful with better looking girls for the money that I am willing to spend.

I was not planning to submit a report on this trip but I promised myself when I joined ISG to write whenever I take a mongering trip.

Friday April 1:

It was my first time in CR so I decided to stay at HDR to be in the middle of the action. I arrived at 8pm, took a shower and went downstairs to check the action. Most of the girls were not attractive but there were a few stunners. I sat at the bar to have a drink and there was a girl sitting there (Caroline) and we started talking. She had a pretty face but a bit on the fat side, dressed in turtle neck with long sleeves, and long pants. She was the least attractively dressed in the place and when I inquired why, she said that she came from college directly to HDR and did not have time to change. Everyone is entitles to their opinion and this is mine.

I liked the way you write, I think your report is totally honestly and very close to what I could write if 2 years ago I went to CR instead to 2 months to Brazil.

In that times I literally spent weeks reading forum and check hundreds of pages of photo gallery and I got the conclusion that the typical CR is to me average in look and in level of GFE.

For one living in Europe, CR does surely not worth it, there countries much better for mongering, but I understand it can be a choice for ones living in USA so much closer to CR than me.

Just my 2 cents.

Depends on your budget, if you want a pimp ass room with staff that treat you like a king I would do hotel Europa presidential suite. It has run me 150-250 per night, negotiation is a must. The room is so so pimp, the bed is like a deluxe double king, jacuzzi and glass shower it has a bar area and a guest bathroom. There is no guest charges and they have always let me keep things in the safe boxes behind front desk for free also. It's about 1 mile which I always walk unless bringing a girl back with me and then even sometimes I can get them to walk with me (I hate cabs). I like hotel presidente too but feel this is a better bang for the buck. Also thought about trying a suite a zone blue, that's only half a mile from del rey and you get big discounts.

Just around the corner from the Del Rey. Walk out the Del Rey and and its right in front of you (2 minute walk) past the restaurant and disco. $59. 00 a night includes breakfast. Got casino and bar and Ricky Ricardo (head man) will take good care of you. No charge to bring your girls. Hotel Morazan.

I have to say I'm surprised at your dislike of Costa Rica because of costs. If you were there for a month I could see it, but it is way cheaper than Asia for short trips because it's like 300 for airfare instead of 1600 assuming you're from the US. You also tried such a small selection of girls that again that's hard to judge, I haven't been to Thailand or phillipines only because I can't get away long enough to make it worth it and I have a feeling the girls commit more there, but they also look identical and none of them have any ass or tits which can get old after awhile. I have to say I'm surprised at your dislike of Costa Rica because of costs. If you were there for a month I could see it, but it is way cheaper than Asia for short trips because it's like 300 for airfare instead of 1600 assuming you're from the US. Friday April 1:

All in All I had a good time and was lucky to find Fabienne otherwise the trip would have been a disaster.
