I have stayed there many times. Very clean. No problems.

How is the Balmoral Hotel? Is it clean?

I've stayed at the Del Rey three times in the past two years. Some rooms are better than others, based on what you're willing to pay. To the extreme are the top floor rooms with a balcony (which isn't private) , those are more in the $150 range. I pay for the $100 room and ask for the outer rooms as high as I can get, like the 5th floor, minimum. Used to stay at the Balmoral,

But they're in the $80s range and have a guest fee of about $15. I stayed at the Morazan once, and thought it was a dump.

Why the HDR? Because I can get my drink on, charge it to my room and not worry about walking around with a lot of cash.

Just get on the elevator, go take a quick nap, go back down and get right back in the game. Some people go there to find the cheapest hotel, cheapest pussy. I'm not one of them, not in the 1% either, LOL.

I took a room at Morazan. The room is ok. Nothing special. I chose this place mainly because I got a good deal with the flight / hotel package. The room ended up costing only $40 a night (including taxes). It was all built into the package.

The HDR looks ok. One-stop shopping. Room upstairs, girls downstairs. I asked about their guest policy. Its $11 per girl to take up. Thats the second reason I chose the other hotel.

The girls were ok last night. Something for everyone. All shapes and sizes. Almost too a girl from he DR. But I was there in June, so I took her number for later. She started at $100 and came down to $70 for 1. 5 hours. I took her number for later in the week. Ended up grabbing a library looking 30 someting chica. It was about 3. 30am when she came over to talk to me. She offered her services for $50. I asked her what she likes to do in the room. Told her what I like. She agreed and off we went. Decent time had by all. Looking for something better today.

There were some hotties the the HDL last night also. They wanted $100, I told them that was too caro (expensive) for only one hour. They were cool for the most part, but I could tell a few of them thought they were worth it. Not in my book.

Is the Hotel Del Rey chica friendly with no joiner fee?

(I'm assuming it is but I want to be sure)

I have read a ton of posts on here about the hotels and many guys seem to go to the Sportsmen's Lodge, Hotel Morazan, and La Amistad.

I'm wondering why I haven't read any posts about people staying at the Del Rey?

Is it because it is an obvious choice or is the hotel not a good place to stay?

I'm thinking if I stays there I would be right in the action.

Any intel will be appreciated. Pipe

Perhaps you misunderstood what I as aiming for in my comment about Bunda Mans report. I have no problem with his last report, or any of his reports. For that matter.

I do not personally know him. But we have corresponded via this forum. And he seems a very straight forward type of fellow. One of the good guys. And his reports and photos are usually very excellent.

What I was asking for. Was for Mr Jackson. The administrator to change the style of the reports some. So they did not appear in 'skinny columns'. Which for me are hard to read.

There is a whole page to use. So why not use it instead of making the 'skinny columns' snake all the way down the page.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that Jackson probably deleted it because it had nothing to do with Costa Rica. There is a "proposed site improvement" thread where you can make suggestions pertaining to the site itself. I personally like the "skinny columns".

I, for one, have no idea what you are talking about. What "skinny columns" are you referring to? I looked at Bunda Man's lengthy report (which I agree is excellent) and it covered the most of entire width of entire width of the page, minus the column on the left that contains the poster's name and number of posts. So please explain what you are referring to.

If you haven't noticed there isn't alot of activity in the CR forum, but you want to slap the one dude who is proactive? Damn. Unless you are willing to provide a better report and show us some of your pictures please sit back and just enjoy it. Thats like the State the objecting to a witness who is helping his case. Let me help you out, a thank you would have been more in order as other members have done. Save your objections to Jackson for when you have a real beef. Good report Bunda man and keep them coming.

Since you really enjoyed yourself, and what did you negotiate?

What about SL. Were the ladies behaving and asking reasonable compensation?

How was NF?

Girls, service, attitude, etc.

Went to San Jose for the first time in 2 years. I went to the DR and the girls were of high quality as usual. There were a few Nicas that just blew away the competition the pricing point was high value for service. I really enjoyed myself there.

Wasn't so sure about the SL went on 3 occasions and was disappointed by the quality of the girls there.

Also the new fantasy is still a bargain and highly recommended for your trip. Be safe

Went to San Jose for the first time in 2 years and made the mistake of staying at the presidente! Do not, I repeat do not stay there unless you have no interest in having visitors. They have turned into a LGBT hotel policy only. Why is that acceptable but normal visitors aren't? They will never get another dollar from me. Additionally, what idiot there decided to close the news cafe on the central avenida! WTF! They are idiots!

Now to the mongering it was awesome as usual! I went to the DR and the girls were of high quality as usual. There were a few Nicas that just blew away the competition the pricing point was high value for service. I really enjoyed myself there.

Wasn't so sure about the SL went on 3 occasions and was disappointed by the quality of the girls there. Clearly not the caliber of the DR but I would definitely recommend going to the SL for the experience and the club sandwich. The owners and management at SL are good guys and will definitely take care of you!

Also the new fantasy is still a bargain and highly recommended for your trip. I also heard some great reviews on the Oasis from a wingman. Overall San Jose is still awesome for me and I can't allow 2 years to pass before I get back down there again. Next time I'll stay at the morazon or sleep inn or even the balmoral.

The Del Rey is an overpriced dump that is very loud from the Casino that goes all the way to the top floor thru the "atrium", the thin walls so you can hear all the drunks rambling to their rooms and everything else, and the traffic noise. It's old. And, just imagine if they put the blue light in those room to see what was all over the floor, the bed spreads which they wash only occasionally, the door knobs, the light switches and on and on. Plus, zero customer service. I wouldn't stay there even if were $10 a night.

I have lived on the other side of the Rey from Morazan park for four years and can tell you there is not much activity upstairs.

Had the Del Rey got their act together and eliminated the fee back in 97, then they would have eliminated the market for other downtown hotels popular with sex tourists. Basically, their very short sighted approach to customer service hurt them badly in the business of hotel rooms.

Personally, I do not think it is a bad option, but you can not book securely online and have to negotiate to get a better rate, because it is not worth $100 a night. I understand that now they are offering the discount more frequently.

The hotel Del Rey is 'ground zero' for the (P4P). "pay for play' venue in San

Jose CR.

Everyone goes there to find girls. If not to find them, at least to oggle all of them. It is like Disneyland for grown up boys. Aka Mongers. Guys who have come to CR to "get laid".

Who want to partake in sex with the young ladies. Who hang out at the Del Rey.

They have a couple of nice bars, a small casino. And usually about 30-40 +.

Sometimes as many as 80-90 gals. All at one time . Hanging out in order to secure a date with a fellow.

There are those guys who stay upstairs at the Del Rey Hotel. I am not one of them. As I would much prefer to stay at: the Hotel Castillo, the Sportsmans Lodge, the La Amistad, or even the Morazon Hotel. In order for my preference.

The Hotel Del Rey is 'way chica friendly' but charges you $ 10. 00 each and every time you take a gal upstairs to your room. That can add up. Plus I think their rooms are overpriced.

You can go to the Hotel Del Rey. For free . And see all the gals-pick one up and then take her to your other hotel.

You should find yourself spending about 2-3 hours a day (on average) in the confines of the HDRey. So why stay there when there are much better hotel options available.

There are guys who go to San Jose. Who stay at the HDRey. Eat all their overpriced meals there, drink all their drinks there, lay with all their gals there. Check in. Check out. And then straight back to the airport for their return flight. Home. They do not go anywhere else except the Hotel Del Rey. But what a waste. Get out and see some of the country.

Be a little adventuring. Stay somewhere else. Just my 2 centavos worth.

PS I have stayed darn near at all the better monger hotels in San Jose.

But in about 12-15 trips there. 5-6 years and running. I have never stayed at the Del Rey. Except to spend some time there checking out the ladies. And occasionally finding one there to take back to my other hotel.
