I disagree with your assessment of Hotel Havana. I agree there is better talent among many of the venues in San Jose, Hotel Havana is a fine place to stay and there are a few top performers there. Anyone who spends time in San Jose would be well served to check out more than a few places, and not spend too much time in one place.

To cross Hotel Havana off the list, and say all the girls are ugly, however does not make sense.

Also be careful with asking locals for directions. It seems they don't want to look like they don't know so they will just make up directions. I downloaded a free Costa Rica map to my Garmin GPS but it didn't have the ability to give turn by turn directions. Later I had a deal that the car rental included a GPS so I copied that file to my laptop and later transferred it to my personal GPS which works much better (however it will sometimes tell you to go the wrong way down a one-way street in San Jose).

My first trip to Arenal was during the dry season and I never once saw the top of the volcano as it was always covered in clouds. I went later in October (a very rainy month) and had excellent views. I prefer to rent a 4X4 during rainy season.

This is because MOPT (the highway authority) will sometimes totally reverse the flow of traffic on a one-way street. When hey do this there is very little indication of the change. I bet they don't notify the GPS people. Buyer beware.

Yea that is a hassle for sure, but you got to give them credit from a business standpoint, gringos effing love the place and it's great for the newcomer / inexperienced.

Pro tip for anyone getting price gouged at New Fantasy: Walk out.

Last time I was there the girl was giving horrible prices to me in colones, definitely cheaper to use dollars if you're gringo at NF. Anyways, I attempted to walk out, next thing I know I am getting blown sin condom for 20 bucks versus 60. Since the girls don't get any of that extra money they will do what it takes to get their cut still, unless they are stupid, which is always a possibility.

Hate to give a bad report on my first posting in awhile. Just got done with a session from "Valarie" from HDR. She is tall and very cute with long brunette hair and braces.
