Anyone have a recent update on the Hotel Del Rey? I plan to be in CR mid August. If it's not "girl friendly" anymore, any recommendations? Tia.

Best Selection. AutoMercado.
Selection is heavily weighted toward South American an Spanish wine. If you are looking for a specific wine, search 'Bottega Costa Rica' or 'Vinum Store Escazu' to view their catalogs and relative prices.

Arriving in a couple weeks to SJO. Trying to determine if duty free wines at the airport are cheaper than what I may find in a local supermarket.
I hear bottles of wine can be expensive in San Jose due to import taxes.
Thoughts?

Posts: 98Prices are higher in CR compared to Colombia. Chicas are easier to find in CR than Colombia. Doesn't mean there's more P4 P in CR, just that there are venues in San Jose and Jaco where the chicas are conveniently ready for you to browse the goodies. Colombia requires more effort and more Spanish. So, in effect, in CR you pay for the convenience. But if you've been successful in Colombia and enjoyed it, I would continue to go to Colombia.

Posts: 688If I had to live in either Costa Rica or Colombia for the rest of my life, it would be Costa Rica for sure. If, on the other hand, I had just been told I had only a month or two to live, it would be Colombia for sure. Does that help?

SJ is cheaper and easy to navigate, Jaco is more expensive but has a chill beach town vibe.

I have an easy question for those of you that have traveled recently or have the experience. I cannot make up my mind. I'm planning on traveling in the next couple of months. I've been to Columbia and had an awesome time. I know Columbia is always good, but I heard it got really expensive. I would like to go to Costa Rica but don't know if the Chicas compare to Columbia. Can anybody tell me prices and if the Chicas from Costa Rica are as nice as Columbia?

As for addresses. Google may be your friend. But addresses are not much help in CR as in many cases there are none. The building I am in right now for example. There is no address. Well, there may be a descriptive one somewhere, but it is not available.
added - the farmacia he mentioned is a chain, so who knows which one he was talking about, but prices would be the same in all of them
