Coming to CR in November for the first time, trying to decide between staying in SJ or Jaco, any recommendation? What location has the best chica selection for the money.

Jaco is fun, but I'm not too turned on by the atmosphere of Hotel Cocal. Sometimes too busy to get a bar seat, it rains a lot up until November and the poolside bar floods easily. We asked one girl what the going rate was and she said $200 - $500, which is bullshit. Jaco, if you've never seen it, is must see. That said, I've always had more fun at the HDR; the girls come to you, or you flag them over. The quality has declined sure, but the cost per chica has remained constant. You can get a girl in the afternoon for $60; any night a girl can be had for $80. I would never pay $100 unless the girl and sex were amazing.

I went to San Jose in June 2018, stayed at La Amistad and had a lot of good luck pulling chicas from Sportsman's Lodge just up the street. La Amistad is chica friendly and the going rate for an hour or so of fun in San Jose is $100. Gorgeous ladies are available at either Sportsman's Lodge or Del Rey. I talked with many of the working ladies and fellow hobbyists that said Jaco is way more expensive (think $150-$200 or more) for the same session. You may have, on average, hotter women in Jaco, but the price for the ticket is way higher. I had a good experience with the level of service and attitude in San Jose and the $100 was in my budget. Just my two cents, brother.

I have been in San Jose for one week and I have never seen it this slow. This is on both ends and the only advantage is better price negotiation since there a small number of guys to choice from. This is also less females but you still have some tens available and they quickly move from the $ starting price.

I have noticed a steady 20% why / why drop in quality and quantity in San Jose. Del Ray used to have several dozen ladies in the evenings on weekdays but those days are a memory now. Last time I was there, the numbers were and single digits!! Good Lord. Hardly anything to even look at. Massage shops sill managed to save the day but I consider them only fillers. The days of stellar sessions with semi putas are long gone and I am afraid it will be all over within coming two years.

Panama has one venue (Habanos) which I loved but its lot more expensive and good for late evenings and nights only.

Change is the only constant in this world.

Some background information: I have travelled to the Dominican Republic six times in the last 6 years for much needed holidays with beautiful ladies and sunny climates. Four of those six occasions have been travelling to Black Beards (BB) in Puerto Plata and two of those occasions have been to the former Tropical Adult Vacation (TAV) in Boca Chica. I enjoy the lovely chicas that are available on premises at BB, but I found that having the ladies so ever-present on property was a bit of a drag after a while. Mind you, its nice to have attention from a model-gorgeous lady, but I can usually only pop once, maybe twice on a good day, so it becomes frustrating for both parties after a while when you can't consummate a deal frequently. I did some research on my own and through ISG, relying heavily on fellow hobbyists such as Geolopes, to guide me towards a better destination. It seemed that Costa Rica was the most affordable and realistic given my budget. I tailored a trip to San Jose, Costa Rica, staying at Hotel Castillo (the sister property to La Amistad), which is a short walk to the Sportsman's Lounge and other hobbyist destinations. It is a remodeled property that I rank among the nicest I have ever patronized. It serves great food, has reasonable rates on classy and spacious rooms, and is very noise-free. Chica friendly, but no chicas on-hand to take to your room. Get the all-inclusive deal for $10/ day extra. It's a no-brainer.

Friday, June 29th: Day 1.

This time of year is the rainy season in Costa Rica, so afternoon showers are the norm and the temperature ranges from the upper 70's in the daytime to the mid 60's at night. Perfect really, but you should probably bring a light rain parka of some sort. When I arrived at the airport in San Jose at about 3 pm I was offered a cab by a nice young lady cabbie. On the way to the hotel I determined she had great English skills and a good command of the streets so I hired her for Sunday at 10 pm To take me on a tour of the city for 6 hours. We agreed on a fair price for her and re-confirmed the time on Sunday with me taking her business card. More about this soon.

Once at the Castillo, Ernesto, the bartender recommended a young lady by the name of Samantha for my first night's activities. He even had some great pics of her and she looked like my type. I eventually met her at The Sportsman's Lodge later that evening. She was all that and more (a solid 8. 5) with a tight 4'10" body and bubble booty. She was a great performer and very fun and perky with a great outlook on life. Not a clock watcher. She spent over an hour with me for $100.

"No need to call and check-in with me again", she said. 10 am comes and no Andrea. "Tico Time", I figure. Nope. 10:30 comes, no Andrea. I call, leave a message. Nothing. 10:45 am comes, no Andrea. Same thing. Fuck it. Call another cabbie and do my shopping and tour for half the price anyway, but the point for mentioning all of this regarding appointments with Costa Ricans is this: As a rule, they don't seem to give a fuck. It's best to work things out on a day-to-day basis and not think you are gaining an advantage by making appointments. During my shopping I bought a local unlocked phone and SIM Card. Got it all activated and WhatsApp downloaded. This pays huge dividends. Get a local phone with enough minutes to cover your vacation. Collect numbers to put yourself in control when meeting working girls. You can evaluate the best of the best and not worried about missed appointments if you have a team of working girls phone numbers in your local phone contacts.

Anyhow, to the interesting stuff. Another hobbyist and I from the Castillo decide to walk down to Del Rey and hit some other places along the way and back. Here is a summary.

Taormino: Two working girls on premises. I give them each a 7 but didn't care enough to go beyond a brief up-and-down. The casino was busy with patrons. No other working girls. Sterile, Americanized place. Seen it all before and more in Las Vegas.

Little Havana: What a joke. Literally, there were no working girls and no customers, just a bartender on Sunday at 7 pm Okay, I was a little surprised there. The adjoining bar (don't recall the name) was a bust. Six dudes, including the bartender. No working girls. Hard to rate 'them when they are not even there.

Walked through a very sketchy area to get to the Del Rey and The Marlin. But here is the amazing thing. Even in the sketchy areas with druggies and dark streets, it was clean, clean, clean in comparison to the DR. I really was amazed at how modern overall CR is and how clean they keep even their most impoverished areas of the city.

Del Rey: 4:1 working girls to guys. Probably 75 working girls total. I saw several nines, but pretty much collected phone numbers and enjoyed the hell out of the vibe but wasn't energetic enough to bury pipe. Cabbed it up to the SL and it looked like a bomb went off in the place it was vacant. Oh well, got one more phone number, had a good meal, and enjoyed wishing I was fucking Angie, the waitress, who is really looking hot in some ass-hangin-out shorts with her tattoos showing. Dang!

Monday, July 2 & 3rd, 2018: Day 4 & Day 5.

Thanks to Geolopes' recommendations on Luna and his willingness to share a phone number, I was able to get some private time with this legend-in-the-making. Fuck. Girl has got skills! Have been in Europe and MDE the last 3 years and came back to see how things were here. The quote below sums it up perfectly. As much as I used to like SJO. It's not even about the money anymore. The quality has dropped, prices for everyday things are on par with the US, and for the life of me, I cannot understand how people want to come here after going to Colombia regularly. Lleras in MDE I know is very touristy, but it's still cheaper than SJO, has restaurants that simply do not compare with here in San Jose, and the overall vibe is just WAY more lively I think.

I will say that Del Rey, being 24 x7, and San Jose being pretty friendly / small. There is an appeal to that. But the instant I hear the "$100 or nothing" at 1 am, and just the overall unfriendly nature of the girls here, I sober up pretty fast and find myself in constant on-guard mode. It's pretty irritating, but that's life I guess. In 5+years and 20 trips to Medellin. The del Rey type of place just doesn't exist. In MDE there is: the mansion (good), a ton of strip clubs of all quality (great), Lleras (great) and the daytime parlors (great) -- In San Jose, it's 10 am to 7 pm parlors, strip clubs, and Del Rey. I cannot explain it, but knowing that I can walk in a bar at 2 am, an actual large (non-strip-club) bar / casino, and still see a bunch of girls. That is something Del Rey provides that few cities (including MDE) can.

I realize the above might seem a bit negative, but I'm trying to be obective. And regardless of my preference, I will probably come back to San Jose each year or two. Driving to the beach in 2 hours, and doing ATV tours, and just the fact that I've been coming for so many years. Part of this place still feels like home.

In other news.

1. Key Largo appears to have closed. They haven't been open at all, and say they are renovating. Who knows what that means.

2. Zona (previously Zona Blue, Then Havana, then Zona II, then whatever) and the other sports place next door have now merged owners and its still technically 2 places but connected inside via a small hallway. More girls than before, but roughly similar to about 2-3 years ago.

3. New Fantasy has closed. Not sure what all those 2's and 3's will do for work now.

4. Idem is still open as is one of the two places directly across the street. Exactly the same. 7 girls, 5-7's.

5. 360 is still open. Nothing to report on. 5 girls, 4-6's.

6. Going to try Monica's, not sure if it's still open.

7. Tengo India (yes, I know it's pricey) is still kicking, girls are hot as normal. 5's to 9's and there was (my version) of a 10 there.

8. Alcazarr in Amon was upgraded, and Nicholes is still lively (though each time I've ever been there, I don't remember much as it's after 2 am and I've been drinking too much).

9. Del Rey. Well, it's still the same as well: complete with the in-your-face bathroom mint-smells, the brunette that has sat by the slot machine men's bathroom for the last 7 years, and the overall 5% annual decline in quality since 2008. That being said, there are still plenty of hot girls that pass through here each week. But they are definitely harder to pull for under $80-$100 and still all-business.

6. Going to try Monica's, not sure if it's still open.

7. Tengo India (yes, I know it's pricey) is still kicking, girls are hot as normal. 5's to 9's and there was (my version) of a 10 there.

8. Alcazarr in Amon was upgraded, and Nicholes is still lively (though each time I've ever been there, I don't remember much as it's after 2 am and I've been drinking too much).

9. Del Rey. Well, it's still the same as well: complete with the in-your-face bathroom mint-smells, the brunette that has sat by the slot machine men's bathroom for the last 7 years, and the overall 5% annual decline in quality since 2008. That being said, there are still plenty of hot girls that pass through here each week. But they are definitely harder to pull for under $80-$100 and still all-business.

The reality is without them the entire scene is even below Tijuana standards (talent-wise). It was disheartening, and I was super-stoked to somehow find girls of that quality.... So yes, it's a buyer's market in terms of overall numbers. But a sad seller's market in terms of top-shelf talent!

I did locate it, but for a variety of reasons chose not to monger on this trip. I'll keep it in mind for next time.
