If anyone else also has any contacts that help hook you up with some local talent, I'd really appreciate some direction!
Planning a trip to Costa Rica mid-December and was hoping for some direction. I'll probably be there for a week and a half and hoping to tourist and visit the country as well. How many days would you recommend staying in La Fortuna? Monteverde worth it or pretty much the same as the forests around La Fortuna / Arenal? Any attractions on the west coast apart from Tamarindo beach?
Thank you!

I'm currently staying at Taormina, a 5 minute walk from Sportsman's. It's a decent place. The bar here has at least as many girls each night as Sportsman's (20 to 25 I'd guess.) I took a girl from the Taormina bar last night, she asked for $80 and I didn't bargain. She tried very hard to get me to take her friend too for another 80, but I didn't go for it. Tonight I took a girl from Sportsman's. We had a few beers ahead of time, and dinner together afterwards, there was some chemistry. Her English is excellent, my Spanish is alright, we spent a lot of time talking and sliding back and forth between the two languages, I have a lot of fun with that. Money was never discussed. I gave her 100; according to the forum that seems to be the precovid standard. Someone said the girls at Sportsman's are dogs. That's about 60-70% true I'd say. The girl I took tonight, she's done some modelling work, showed me the pictures. Someone mentioned taking girls waiting to get in to Sportsman's. I don't think that's a thing, I haven't seen anyone waiting outside (and I just went by there at 9 pm on Fri night to check.) These places are closing early. If lowballing is your thing then one strategy might be to hang around outside when the bar closes and offer a lowball price at that point. Just now when I came back in to Taormina there were 6 to 8 girls hanging around outside; I think they are getting ready to catch a cab back home. Offer one of the 50 and see what happens. There's not that many girls but there are definitely more girls than guys here currently.
It's my first time to CR so I can't compare it to the good old days.

Booked flight just now, purchased my Covid Insurance Policy and Booked stay at Sportsmen's. Going based on the market favoring the consumer at the moment. I like the plan of offering 60 and bringing them into Sportsmen's plus Pensions are not too far of a walk away. I'm sure it will be a different environment now than it was a few years ago when I was there last. Is Luna still around had some great times with her. Scatter PM me your friends WhatsApp info I'd greatly appreciate it brother.

Did you visit any of the spas in San Jose like Relax or Monicas? If so, are they open and business as usual?

I went to San Jose last weekend from Thursday to Sunday. Hotel Del Rey and Blue Marlin are indeed shut down, never to return. Many rumors here, but locals in the know say it's future is uncertain. May be a family hotel, maybe a deserted building for a long time. If it does re-open, it needs major repair and renovation. The status of the gambling and liquor license is a major issue. The amount of bribes and licenses to return it to original status is just not really economically or practically feasible. Seems most of the women that stayed in San Jose moved to Sportsman's Lodge, but with strict COVID restrictions, the number of girls allowed in is restricted. There is a line of hot girls lined up on the sidewalk to get in. A good play would be to pick a girl out of the line and low-ball an offer. Worked like a champ for me. $60 for an hour with a $100 Blue Marlin quality girl. They will go because there is a fair chance they will not even get in the SL, and even if they do, they are hit or miss at best at hooking up. Better $60 than 0. Ball is in our court now so take advantage. These girls have done nothing for 4 months, so $60 is welcome income for them. Don't inflate the prices because you feel like Abraham Lincoln. Most Del Rey girls have moved their business to Jaco.
Restaurants are open and I explored some outside of the gulch, and was quite shocked about the number and quality they have there. I have been going for 25 years but ventured out more this time since most of the ex-pat bars are closed now. Bar Poas is open with limited seating and little crowd. San Jose is not the mongering destination it used to be and is unlikely to ever return to its heyday. Sad. I have a lot of lady friends that I stay in touch with on Facebook, so it was a very productive weekend. They were all happy to get a little money. Even a little seems like a lot to them right now.
I stayed at Hotel Little Havana. There were some girls there, but not the quality of SL. The bar closed at 7 pm weekdays, and by 8 or 9 on weekends. Very few gringos. Mostly locals drinking beer and talking with the girls, but obviously not taking them.
If you have any questions, post here or PM me.
Happy hunting.
Snook.
