Received a report that American John has passed and was buried recently. The report said that ownership would turn over to his family, who reported new things to come.
Sad to hear of his passing; he had a storied life for many years! Me and my wingman were fortunate to have stayed in the " owners suite" several years ago when John was out of the country.

Took a weekender down to San Jose this past Thurs-Sun. I stayed at the Sportsmens and spent time around the gulch venues. I've made many trips in the past, but this was my first visit since the pandemic and I was interested to see how the scene was.
There were at least several chicas available in the Sportsmens every day of the trip from early afternoon onwards. More in the night of course, and sometimes a couple earlier. I pulled three times from SL during my stay. As others have detailed, Taormina is definitely the best option. I enjoyed the bar and casino vibe. Nothing the scale of HDR a decade ago, but definitely fun and many chicas available. Pulled really good lookers both Fri and Sat nights there.
During the days I walked a lot and stopped at several spas that I've enjoyed in years past. I found Relax completely closed, apparently gone the way of Idem. Popped my head into a couple salas on Sixth, but no diamonds in the rough to be seen. I sessioned with Julia at Monicas. She was the only flaca in the line-up the morning that I stopped in. Great slam session for the price (BBBJ, CFS).
I stopped in at HDR twice during my trip. Once on Friday afternoon, and again on Saturday evening. The lobby bar and the blue marlin bar were both open. I was surprised to see that they have carpeted the floor in the lobby, and as reported by others, all the casino games are gone. There were several chicas available both visits. Many of the same bartenders are still working, and to my disbelief, they brought me my correct change after all of my drink orders. Friday there was no one to my liking, but Saturday I pulled a really nice looking flaca who I took back to Sportsmens to show me a good time.
For anyone that might be interested, I picked up a box of 8 generic cialis 20 mgs from the pharmacy across the street from the old Morazon hotel for 30 usd. So 3. 75/ pill.
All in all, I had a good time, and think San Jose is still a decent enough option.

As a first timer, in SJ I would stay at one of the monger hotels, Sportsmens, Taormina or Castillo. All have their pros and cons as previous posters have noted.
I Jaco, the Cocal is ground central. Rooms are nice but pretty basic and a bit expensive. If you stay anywhere else be sure to confirm their guest rules as many places in Jaco do not allow unregistered guests.
Get it in writing.

Hey All,
Looking for a little advice here as this is my first trip. I've read a lot of prior posts but still have a few questions.
I'm coming down shortly after Labor Day for 5 days 4 nights. It appears action is easy to find, I just may need help location the pensions. Hopefully I will run into some veterans who can show me around.
Anyhow, would it be a good idea to maybe take a day trip to Jaco or even stay 1 or 2 nights to see something different? I'm more of a beach person which is why I have been to DR on many occasions but want to see something different.
I've read a lot of the hotels in SJ do offer tours, so I may look into rafting or fishing. I just don't want to wind up staying to long and be board. I would consider taking a trip to one of the other beaches but my research shows they are 3+ hours away.
Looking to make a decision in the next few days and book some travel.
Thanks.

Re reading many reports questions of safety come up.
I have met women all over the country in person, and using tinder, and also meeting girls in the ol HDR, cocal, local bars and the beaches.
I speak ok Spanish but in the beginning I knew none.
In all that time I have never ever had a dealing with a woman where they put my safety in danger. At least that I knew of. I have had many in the apartments I have rented. I have not found the ladies to be advanced at running games.
The only time I can even think of was after I came back from a short time with a Nica in Jaco ant an st cabin near coral, and what I believe was her drunk boyfriend on the street. He was not making much sense and yelling, but I was able to avoid him easy enough and got in a cab and left.
Of course you have to pay attention but overall CR is a very safe place for us gringos. If you meet a girl and she likes you, rent a car and she will travel with you anywhere and be your eyes and ears. SJ I guess could be a place to proceed with extra caution but I have always found it safer than most bad parts in the avg Gringo city.
Only speaking from my own experience ymmv.

Posts: 833Taormina Update. Friday & Saturday
Friday was a great night in the hotel sports bar; at least 50 girls filtering in and out. Saturday was slower, but still about 30 girls. The "Jungle Bar" is a good spot to take a girl and to get acquainted in a more private setting. Pulled a 24 yo tics last night, reddish hair, fair skin, skinny body with nice little titties. She was playfully grabbing my junk under the bar as I enjoyed my beer. Agreed to 50,000 colones and off we went, no guest fee included in my room rate.
Once in the room I opened some wine and put on some YouTube music as she did a slow striptease. She then got on her knees and showed her above average oral skills. Then it was my turn as I ate her for a good 20 minutes. Oh, the entirety of the BJ was condom free. Fucked her in multiple positions and came on her chest. All in all, a good selection with GFE treatment.
Didn't make it over to the HDR to check it our, but most of those girls are in the Taormina now anyway. May check it out this evening, Sunday is usually a slow night in the Taormina and HDR is usually more populated.

Fellow Mongers,
I'm headed to SJO / Jaco for the next 8+ days, two days in SJO, and 6-7 days in Jaco. Primarily looking to relax and "re-acquaint" myself with the local talent as this is my first trip since the dreaded 'VID.
I'm staying at the Taormina on the first night and will certainly take a stroll (or two) around the bar area and see if anything piques my interest. I usually stay at the S / L; however, too many negative reports. My plane doesn't land until 1900, so a S / T on the first night will be just fine. The next day I plan to stop by Monica's for a session on my way to Jaco. I've been there previously; however, my primary has since "left the building". She was a sweetie and will be missed.
Lastly, if any of you have specific questions relative to any of the above, send them over and I will do my best to answer. As is customary, I will report back any findings to pay for those that have certainly helped me with my ventures.

Hit town yesterday for a weeks stay.
Landed at 12:30 pm and immigration was a little crowded, but only about 15 minutes. Stopped in the Duty Free and picked up, a couple bottles of wine for the hotel; Chilean merlot $13, Yellow Tail Chardonnay $12: $25 total. Had a driver waiting for me, $30, standard fare. No traffic to the hotel (unusual for the afternoon), was there in 30 minutes.
The little shop around the corner from the Dunn Inn has closed. I have a local friend who will pick up some refreshments from Walmart for me and bring this afternoon. She arranges my hotel stay, transportation and can arrange an prescriptions and debta care as well. She can get any prescription through her pharmacy contact. If you book at the Taormina through her, they waive the standard Chica fee at the Taormina; one girl.
Per day. Thereafter, is a charge of $12.
The Taormina is the place to stay nowadays. Girls started arriving about 2 pm. By 6 pm there were at least 30 girls who filtered through the bar and casino areas; a couple "8"s, mostly 5 - 7; some chunky, if that's your thing. One girl told me that she and her friends avoid the HDR got business and rotate between Sportsman's, Castillo and the Taormina. I finally settled on a slender Nica, nice body (one baby, 3), natural tits with 1/2" nipples, shaved pussy. C50,000 agreed for oil massage (Nica's are known for their massages), BBBJ, Covered sex with multiple positions. She took CIM without my asking. Very GFE in my mind. Before she left she got in the shower with me to wash all the oil off. Gave her an extra C10,000 for her great efforts. Will do her again before I leave. Will see what Friday afternoon and evening have to offer!
Stay thirsty my friends!

Posts: 3V and see from Dr. Lee
I've gotten generic V and see from Farmacia Dr. Lee, which is near the NW corner of the next intersection down the hill from the Del Rey.
WWMG+F3 San José, San José Province, Costa Rica.
I can't remember exact prices, but I think it was something in the neighborhood of $30 for 16 100 MG generic V. I could be off on that.
But I do remember going around to other pharmacies and asking about prices and he was always cheaper.
