If one of them freaks out, gets angry at you for some perceived transgression, she will show absolutely zero hesitation in calling the cops. Not sure about your Spanish skills, but it will be your word against the girl's. I've used AirBnBs in San Jose before, but only for mi favoritas that I (somewhat) trust. I'm not saying AirBnBs should always be avoided. Just consider your risk profile carefully and decide if it's worth it for you.
Those are the exact reasons to stay in Taormina or SL, security and convenience. I had a problem with a girl for not completing our agreement. The front desk staff and a security came and kicked the girl out. She was banned from entering the hotel again. Free breakfast in the morning, room cleaning everyday. Are just some added comforts that you won't find in an Airbnb. Unless it is a long term stay, to me, the hotel makes a lot more sense in San Jose for our hobby.

I don't think Twitter is an alternative. You will need whatsapp if you want to communicate by text, once you get contact info from the ladies.

Little Havana bar is about a block from the Taormina.

It has been often mentioned in this forum. I am just reinforcing the basic rule so that you cannot cry afterwards. Lock up all valuables. Do not trust any girl in this profession. Hotels offer extra level of protection with regard to checking cedula, calling you to make sure the lady is allowed to leave etc. Usually ladies do not make a ruckus in a hotel compared to apartments.

    So be careful.

Are they comfortable with that? Do they ask for more money to go elsewhere? I would think they might feel safer in one of those two hotels where there is security in case a monger gets out of hand, etc.

Looked at the Del Rey website, and there's some mixed messages there. In the room selection, there's a "family room" option and the booking menu has a field for number of children. However, its gallery features many photos of parties with scantily clad women, and there's more of those on the home page than you see in a 2019 version of the website on the Wayback Machine.

Maybe it's just more half-baked than anything else. There's still references to the Key Largo and Del Mar restaurant, even though that building was sold to become a cultural center. It generally has an "under construction" feel to it.

They updated the covid info on their website. Maybe another week and we should be seeing that it will be open.

That depends on how you play your hand. If they are comfortable with you, they will be comfortable with going. I had an apartment in the gulch for several months and brought women there all the time, mostly from Del Rey but also from Sportsman, Little Havana, etc. , but I was well known. I never was asked for more money and would use that as a weed out criterion or red flag. Also I think the more Spanish you speak, the less hesitant they will be. I think you are making the right call if you've got some experience.

Most of the girls in Taormina, Sportsmens, etc, will go to Airbnb's. Be careful with Airbnb's near the gulch. Owners know that a lot of gringos come to SJ for mongering and don't want it in their building. Some AirBnBs will have policies against it. If you're discreet and maybe give security una propina, you shouldn't have a problem. Taormina 4th floor after party

But, the $25 fee hurts. I can't wait to hear about Delray opening. As it will give a good starting point for us mongers, LOL.
I was at Taormina last Halloween. I've never stayed at but have seen the rooms at SL, and personally I think Taormina rooms are much nicer. Since SJ was still under a curfew (sort of) they had an after hour party on the 4th floor. You had to buy a bracelet to get in / out. But after a while they were just letting anyone who was staying there in. Because the bars on the main level had to close at 11 or 12, it was not bad if you want to continue partying and hanging out. Also, I think the parties on the 4th floor are only on weekends, Friday and Saturday nights. I'm going to SJ for Super Bowl weekend and will stop by HDR to see what's going on. I hope they open soon and go back to their old glory days. I loved that place jajaja.

So, for the two nights I spent at Taormina, one of them I had to get up at 5 in the morning to catch my flight home so I did not stay up late for the party on the 4th floor. Did not stay up late Friday night either. I basically would be at the Pension by 9 or 10 AM each day. Another girl at the Pensions in the afternoon, and then just one girl at night at Taormina or Sportsmens, where they are asking $100. Sorry, no news to report about the late night party. Sportsmen's was shut down by 11 or 12 each night, FYI.

I sandwiched the week in between in Jaco, but I have no report for Jaco since I was with my family at that time. Made it into San Jose Thursday around noon. Sportsmen's let me check in early, which was nice. Set out by walking around San Jose. I went over to Pension Erotica, which is located off a tiny park at Calle 11 and Av. 14. When I was in San Jose four years ago, I nearly fell in love with a girl there. Needless to say, she was not working there anymore. They had only one girl and she was busy. Ducked my head into Pension Corte nearby. Only 2 girls, none was do-able. Went over to Monica's. Monica's was solid. 6-8 girls working, and a few good choices. In the few times I went over there, I saw the cutie pictured below most of the time. The other time I was there I saw a great Venezolana, but I don't have a picture of her. I poked my head in a few of the other pensions, but most were not that good. I did find a gem at Malibu, however. I think she was brand new to the job-- very shy. I really enjoyed my time with her on a couple of occasions. New Years Day before heading out to Jaco I went to Monica's, but they were closed. Right across the street is Pension Erotica 2, and I had an amazing time there. Really lucked out. They only cost 12,000 colones for a half hour, but they didn't have a shower. Sportsmen's was good. They upgraded the beds since I was there 4 years ago. Fewer girls than 4 years ago, but I was happy. See pic below of the 2 girls I did a 3-way with on New Years eve. For the second weekend, I stayed at Taormina. Room was not as nice as Sportsmen's. Most of the electrical outlets didn't work. I didn't like that they charged $10 to bring a girl up, even though I had a reservation for 2.
