    Base rate in San Jose

Some hold out for their asking price, most will drop it, but the base rate is around $80 in San Jose although not all will take that. In Jaco, not sure, I haven't been there myself for a while, but I've heard that $150 is more the base rate, and sometimes they will take a bit less, perhaps later in the evening, or before they leave to go back to wherever they are from. But same girl in Jaco may hold out for $150 and yet happily take $100 in San Jose. They know the competition and how they rate as far as chance of success. Lots of the $200 and $300 dollar girls in Jaco actually get that as there are lots of visiting bachelor types down for parties, staying at fancy places, or wealthy people who don't know prices at all. So that becomes a price. Anyway, this is nothing that different than a few years ago. Perhaps on average the minimum has gone up $20 on the low end and $50 or so on the high end.

As for $500 at Taormina. If she is that beautiful I bet she gets that occasionally. Because there are those guys that just cannot resist the most beautiful one in the room, their ego whatever.
I could pay 50 K colones as a base rate which at current exchange rates is a little less than $100.50 K is an nice round number which most of the girls will accept as close enough to cien dollars.

The Taormina is a great hotel with a casino and a good number of girls; depending on the day of the week. Other than that; the noted massage parlors in previous notes.

The guest fee for the Taormina is $12; or you can pay an extra room rate that includes the chica fee.

    Taormina trip

Haven't been to Costa Rica in almost 2 years, and took a stroll after dinner to the Taormina last night with a buddy. Watched the 2nd half of the NCAA game then started looking around. Was only interested in two, then one exited with a guy. My buddy started chatting with a nice skinny chick, but was more interested in a different one. I said no problem, so I asked her to go grab to one he'the been looking at. We hung out for an hour with drinks and talking. The girls were humorously open in talking about being prostitutes. They said that $100-120 is normal in San Jose, but can up the price to $250-300 in Jaco. And $1000 for a weekend with a guy over in Jaco.

I took mine to Masion Doreen via taxi, and we had a room with a stripper pole, jacuzzi, fuck chair, king size bed and a bondage thing. Used all except the bondage thing. My Hotel doesn't allow chicks, so this was a good place to monger with music, beer, toys, etc. Everything covered but loved when she soaked the bed because she came so much. No, I'm not a sex god, but I think she just relaxed enough to enjoy it. $150 to her for almost 2 hours.

There were probably 4 of the 25 that I would've picked, so am still seeing possibilities for all there. Every shape and size, even for me who likes trim and fit.

Oh, and she says that Taormina is the only good place in town these days.

In fact, it's somewhat of a dump now.

San Jose Update for January 2024

I am a first time poster to the Forum but have been an avid reader. I appreciate all the guidance from the members. I arrived in San Jose on Saturday the 6th of January and thought I would give an update.

    - Elected to stay at the Hotel Castillo. Registration is very "simple". No issues with guests. They were friendly and helpful all the time. The room is pretty tired and could use a new mattress. You roll to the middle and sink in.

    - Used Shuttlebug for the airport pick up. Valerie is friendly and had great advice. This is the only service to use when in San Jose.

Now on to the nights activities. I visited 3 places.

    - First place was the bar at the Hotel Castillo. It was dead. One girl was there sitting at the bar. Three loud gringos berating the monger scene. I had one beer and left. The bar tender said very few people go there.

    - Second place was the Sportsman Lodge. There were maybe 6 women there. What they lacked in looks they made up in years. Definitely a hang out for past prime talent. One thing I would like to say. Please put your pants on when you have a room on the hallway when your "date" leaves. There are just somethings a person should not have to see.

    - Third and final place was Hotel and Casino Taormina (thanks to Valerie). They have a great bar and both the bar and casino were packed. There was a girl for every taste. The music was great and the bar was well decorated. Beers were reasonably priced.

That is it for now. I will try a few of the other standard places and let everyone know.

    Dunn Inn

I think they have a $30-$40 guest fee though, unless that has changed.

On another note, I probably will never stay at Sportsmens again (after going there off and on since 2008). Booked two nights 2/9-11/2023. Received a "confirmed" reservation. Booked 5 nights for Super Bowl at Cocal beginning Superbowl Sunday. Received an email today cancelling my 2 day reservation and asking if I would like to book a 3 day stay because its Super Bowl Weekend literally a week after receiving the "confirmed" reservation. Called spoke with a guy named Flores. Taoromina is booked for the weekend. Cocal has nothing for the 9th and 10th. The only place I've ever stayed in San Jose is the Del Rey, Sportsmens and Taormina. Any suggestions for 2 nights in San Jose or Jaco?
