I think a 0 chance that the Gran would be guest friendly. They are in the tourist business and their normal guests do not want to see anything to do with the sex trade. You might be able to sneak someone in somehow, but you could also find yourself out on the street with no refund.

Upon check-in, they will inform you that there is a $140 USD fee for any "guests" so, yeah, I guess it's semi-acceptable (it IS legal after all) but I've not tried, nor would I.

I will defiantly report back. The Gran looked really nice and it's close to the HDR, but I'm not willing to risk a hassle from the Gran regarding guest (s).

You can learn a lot more from walking over to the front desk and asking their guest policy, takes all of the wondering out of if they allow or they don't.

Good catch on noticing it was his first post; have to wonder if he's even ever been to Costa Rica.

My take on dating or meeting apps: The more information you put out on one of those; name, phone number, email address, photos, likes (sexually speaking), opens oneself up to extortion by a talented party. That's not to say that a girl couldn't claim that she was "raped' in your hotel room. It's all a risky proposition. Back in the day, the HDR used to take care of their guests, but now it's a different game. A couple years ago I took a girl up to my room at the HDR, went in to take a shower and when I came out, she was looking under my mattress for whatever I may have stashed. I kicked her out before any money had changed hands and she cried, thinking she may be banned from the hotel. When I went down to the lobby security and reported her; the hotel security response was; "well, you chose the girl". That opened my eyes bigly!

My comment about the "pensions", was related to San Jose. The $200 figure I quoted about Jaco is what the girls "usually start out with.

As I stated previously; I'd much rather meet a girl in the bar, have a few drinks and judge her by whether she knows the bartenders, other girls I may know, etc.
