Posts: 3359Each taxista in SJO may hold only one medallion, so if you write down the number of your cab, you have probably better traceability than with Uber. And all the taxis are metered. So taxi ripoffs are less of a factor in SJO than in many other places.

Posts: 254Uber in SJO is a good option
Just got back from SJO. Don't have much to add to what is here except to shill for Uber. I used Uber to take a taxi from the airport to La Amistad for about $12 US a third of what I was told is the going rate. Around town used it often, never paid more than a buck or two to get around down town and felt safe that I wasn't going to get robbed (or gouged) as Uber would have a record of who the driver is. Here in the US use it for transfer to and from my local airport again for about 1/3 of the cost of a taxi.

Posts: 53Fantastic place to party in San Jose
This weekend I had a group who requested I find a private house in San Jose that could be used for lodging the group together. I found the Presidential Mansion, the best place I have seen in San Jose to host a wild party. It had 6 bedrooms, three with king beds, 3 with queen, a large common area with stereo system and big screen TV, huge bar, and kitchen. It is perfect for group privacy, security and centrally located in the Gulch. It is within minutes of hundreds of women, casinos, restaurants, strip clubs and the Del Rey. It was a perfect place for a bachelor party or crazy Superbowl party. It was as good a location as the old Hotel M, only more conveniently located. The group enjoyed the location but failed to take advantage of its potential. They were content with the talent at the local mps. For anyone wishing to throw a great party, PM me for details.

Posts: 19Negotiating a Full night rate?
What's the best way to negotiate a rate for the night?
I've read girls typically try and fit in multiple clients so if you show up between 12 and 1 am things slow down and they may be more open to accepting one price for the entire night, but don't want to miss out on the talent either.
Another option may be to offer say $70 per shot. So even if they take the entire night to help you finish 3 x that's still $210 plus tip in their pocket. Likely more than they'd make other wise in a night and this is guaranteed $.
Any other suggestions?

Posts: 19Options close to Del Rey
Flying out of San Jose on Monday, coming in from Jaco on Sunday and want to stay somewhere near Del Rey. Have narrowed down to Hotel Presidente, Balmoral and Holiday Inn Aurola. Whats the "guest fee" at each? And which do you recommend? All are within $10 of each other and seem to be 2 or 3 minutes walk from Del Rey.
Or do you recommend another? Appreciate any advice you can give a newbie.

Posts: 44San Jose vs Jaco- how to divide my time
I'm planning a trip in Dec for 4 nights. I was thinking of Tu-Wed night in San Jose and Th-FR night in Jaco, flying back on Saturday eve. I'm wondering if the HDR in San Jose would have enough chicas on a Wed night; any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Posts: 95Pops Costa Rica Tour Guide Review
Hey Guys,
I just wanted to come on the forum to talk about the Pops Tour in Costa Rica. Pops aka Ed is one of the coolest mofo's I have ever met. Most of you may know him from Costa Rica Ticas. In any case I paid $50 bucks for his Costa Rica tour and I can tell you it was the best $50 I ever spent. One of the problems I have encountered while traveling is that when you travel to a new area there can be a steep learning curve as to what one should do and not do. Hanging out with Pops, I was able to avoid all the newbie problems and hit the ground running. I can not recommend Pops services enough.
I think from know on I will look for a recommended guide on this forum when I travel to new places. The amount of time I saved was immense.
If you are reading this. Thanks again Pops. You are the man.
Chaser.

I've just tried to walk around Tica bars on calle 2, av 10.
All of the mare cellulite exhibition. No point to stay.
After that came to Alcazar. Is similar, there are girls, but none is my dream.
Took a taxi an he brought me to "nice place where there are nice girls", the drive took 3000 C in the middle of nowhere. Same result.
After that Del Rey. This is a spot. The girls negotiate up to 60 $. You can choose there your dream. 50+ chicas.
Tomorrow I will check out the casas.
