I'm landing in SJ tomorrow night and was planning to stroll the city. I have traveled to other places and frequent Tijuana zona roja solo. There are pensiones which are more or less like what New Fantasy was. And there are still strip clubs, but I have not gone to any in a number of years. The pensiones are talked about in some previous posts but as the girls working in them change from day to day it is hard to say that any one is better than others. Monicas, Oasis, Pension 360, Muses, Relax, are a few of the ones that some gringos go to. They are a day time option and most are closed in the early evening. Most of the visiting mongers stay at either Sportsmens, Castillo, or Taormina, and there are various girls that work the bars in these hotels, and that would be the main way that visiting mongers hook up. I was at Krysis back in the Spring I think, or was it 2 Springs ago? And the left half of the building turned into a night club that night and there was a big party on a small crowded dance floor with bar service. Generally, the atmosphere felt unsafe and a lot of locals were telling me and each other who to be aware of. But the dance floor was hot and I think the danger level brought up the temperature for everyone. There were definitely a lot of shady characters. But so many young, hot chicks too. It was like a dance floor full of semi-pros or want to-bes.

Eventually someone asked me if I saw a girl I liked or whatever and it wasn't even apparent that any of them were "available" in that way. It seemed like we were all just dancing. I'm heading down for my 12th annual Super Bowl Vacation in San Jose. Have a fairly good handle on what's happening and pricing in Jaco, Sportsman's Lodge and Taoromina. But have been plowing through the thread and can't get a handle on what locations like New Fantasy are open? Closed? Are any of them still around?

Any word on anything good at the strip clubs? Alcazar etc?

I was talking to a guy in a downtown sports bar watching the Sunday Night Football blow out. Never thought I would feel bad for Dallas fans. He said that a girl at the Taormina quoted $500. When he asked her how she would ask that price he stated that she said "I'm beautiful", which he said she was. Being a wise man he said he sent her on her way. Having cocktails with a couple of guys later that night they were saying girls were asking $300 in Jaco but you could get them down to $150. What the hell is going on with pricing? A year ago at the Sportsmen's every girl was looking for $100. I was into a game and blew a couple of girls off. Later a pretty Nica said she would take $80 so I could not resist. I have been doing the pensions so far but what is going on at Taormina and Jaco these days?

Nothing is going on that has not been going on for several years. Girls were asking $200 or $300 hundred in Jaco in past years, and once in a while in San Jose $150 or $200. Some hold out for their asking price, most will drop it, but the base rate is around $80 in San Jose although not all will take that. In Jaco, not sure, I haven't been there myself for a while, but I've heard that $150 is more the base rate, and sometimes they will take a bit less, perhaps later in the evening, or before they leave to go back to wherever they are from. But same girl in Jaco may hold out for $150 and yet happily take $100 in San Jose. They know the competition and how they rate as far as chance of success. Lots of the $200 and $300 dollar girls in Jaco actually get that as there are lots of visiting bachelor types down for parties, staying at fancy places, or wealthy people who don't know prices at all. So that becomes a price. Anyway, this is nothing that different than a few years ago. Perhaps on average the minimum has gone up $20 on the low end and $50 or so on the high end.

As for $500 at Taormina. If she is that beautiful I bet she gets that occasionally. Because there are those guys that just cannot resist the most beautiful one in the room, their ego whatever.

San Jose is still a "buyers market"! Most any fire in San Jose will agree to $100. Some girls won't do BBBJ, so a propina may suffice in that case.
