But it's pronounced more like houra. And he won't be writing it down for the chicas.

Therefore, I'd just rather avoid them. Especially if they are dangerous. In Thailand, they were simply a "curiousity". I had to just stop and stare, ya know. Rubbing my eyes in disbelief. Wondering why the "real" girls' legs couldn't look like that! Ha! Isn't life funny sometimes?

It sounds to me like the Trannies in Costa Rica are similar to the one's you might find here in some of the big cities in the US. And if that's the case, I'm sure they look more like men dressed as women. Which wasn't the case in Thailand. Hence why I was wondering about Costa Rica. Anyway, thanks again.

I've been doing my research and can't wait to try out Costa Rica. Looking at early February. Considering the Sportman's Lodge. Can't go wrong with the Sportsman's; great place. Spend a few hundred bucks on private lessons (see Craigs list in you area) well worth it.

Be careful of the "women" who are around Parque Morizon at night- that is where they are. In truth, some of them are very agresssive- not like in BKK or Pattaya, where they just bother you, but there have been many attacks by the "ladies" of the park. It one of the main reasons to not walk there at night.

Street action is not common in San Jose since most of the good and cheap options are indoors- if a chica is on the streets, there is a reason for it, and it is usually bad (I. E. Banned from places due to being a crook or having a drug problem).

Manny guys go to CR within knowing any Spanish- of course it influences the types of expereinces you can have, but you will be fine. The main problem is that there are basically two type of chicas who speak English well- girls who are well educated, and girls who have been "in the biz" for two long, and can be more hard core. Of course, there are many exceptions to that rule- find them.

    Enjoy

I had no idea that it would be such taboo. And my other two questions were actually my primary reasons for posting. The third question was simply a curiosity. Like I said, many guys in Thailand were playing with both. And I personally found many of the "T's" stunningly attractive! Just wouldn't know what to do with one of them in the bedroom. But, I'm not going to say anymore about the subject if it's that unpopular.

So, I'm still wondering if not knowing much Spanish is a problem for some guys while playing in Costa Rica? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I did stop during the ealy evening and they had 15 or so that I saw.

You probably know the format with a bar and the girls in line against the wall at tables.

Very customer friendly environment and the girls are upper end quality.

Stictly 1 hour format, no half hour visits.

    Hi all,

Here are some thoughts on my 9 days in San Jose at Thanksgiving. As a preface I had been to CR on 2 prior occasions, but not for 7 years.

Lodging: Stayed at Little Havanna & Sportsman's & liked each for their respective advantages. L. Havanna has a very nice in-house staff option that I enjoyed. In general they were friendly and several were GFE type experiences. A couple were less so, but overall I definitely recommend. Nice staff & relaxed setting.

Sportsman's was different, but very nice as well. Easy shopping with the girls there, including daytime, and the girls are less transactional than the Key Largo & Del Ray environment. The selection is not as large as DR or KL, but fine for a limited stay.

Massage: I like massage and tried a number of formats. New Fantasy is still there and very clean, professional and fairly priced. The staff numbers double digits, but is not huge anymore. I found this an excellent option with very good hours. Opens at 9:00. Relax, across from Idem, was good for my tastes also. I found very friendly girls there at fair pricing. Illusions is a couple blocks away and small with 5-6 staffers, but would recommend. My favorite was Kama Sutra in Paseo Colon neighborhood. Hard to find as it is an unmarked house, but great quality and attitude with market level pricing. Excellent.

Clubs: Highly recommend the Pirate Club (formerly El Dandy). Very American friendly and the girls are super service oriented and the accommodations are very hygenic and modern. Pricing is great and girls are above the norm and very responsive.

I looked at or actually shopped several places I'd known before or read about including Tangas in the red zone & would not recommend. Aside from the neighborhood the accommodations and hygiene are not consistent with N. American expectations.

Language: I know 60 or so Spanish words which was enough to get the non-English speaking girls to laugh and try to help. I would recommend trying even if you butcher the language as it helps with rapport.

Safety: Worse than the time before, which was worse than the time before. Everyone cautioned me including the girls and most taxis are metered and fair (in my experience) , so don't walk if questionable.

Negatives: I like overnights and those are rare in SJ, all the girls are moms and don't want TLN as they want to get to their babies. TLN really helps the GFE idea, and I found it either expensive or just impractical as most girls needed buses for 20-50 minute commutes. Many are nursing as well, some are sensitive others it isn't a bother.

Nationalities: I saw mostly CR, followed by Nicas, then Dominicans with a couple of Columbians.

Pricing: Depended on format and time of day, etc. Many massage options were about $35 USD. Take out from SL and similar venues was higher and I would pay over-market to be on good terms. Typically $70, some $60 and one or two $80 because I lost coin flips.

Overall I enjoyed and met nice girls & the staff at Little Havanna & SL was great. Not like Asia, but a shorter flight.

Hope this is helpful to some.
I liked your post and thanks for posting. I also noticed a few Dominicanas and Colombianas who had the excuse that they couldn't stay the night because they didn't have baby sitters. I thought most foreign girls were there to make money and sent money home to momma who was taking care of the kids. What girl goes to another country to trick and takes their babys with them? I think these girls use this excuse to make fast money. I didn't see any Dominicanas or Colombianas at the park with their kids. Possibly if they arent back at a certain time, they are required to have over 200usd for LT. Possibly these girls arent interested in doing Lt. Don't be fooled fellas.

    More on Kama Sutra

Kama Sutra is only about 2 blocks off Paseo Colon on Avenida 5. I think they call the neighborhood Paseo Colon as well.

There are several massage options within walking distance. Some are somewhat marked and findable like VIP Massage (common name, there are several VIP massage. This is kiddy corner from the big Scotiabank building) , and Oasis Others like Veronicas and Kama Sutra are really hard.

Veronicas is around the corner from Club Elite on Paseo Colon. Not far from the Wendys, Subway and am / pm mini mart. It is findable.

Kama Sutra, best ask a cabbie although the one I took hadn't a clue, nor did 3 people we asked on the street within a block of the casa, nor did the dispatcher. It is a very comfortable setting with very high quality staff at the same rate as the lesser locales.

Golden Girls is on the corner less than 100 yards away too. They have only the most discreet small sign in the window of open (in Spanish naturally). They are quite good also and hygenic. I stumbled into it looking for directions to Kama Sutra.

YMMV naturally. My own style is laid back and I like to try to talk, give a massage to get one, and the like. I not much of an in & out, quickie guy. That style seemed to play well with the girls.

Man, this is a great report. Thanks so much, Casey. And thanks especially for commenting about the neccessity of knowing some Spanish. (I read your post AFTER I made my post and inquiry on the subject.)

I studied Thai for several months prior to my Thailand trip last year, and found as you did in CR, that it came in quite handy and was much appreciated by the locals that I gave the effort to learn their language. Thanks again!
