Idem I think takes cards, HLH used to I don't know about now. I have used mine at Pantera Rosa many times with no issues, they bring the receipt with a flashlight and make sure you can see what you are signing.

I just booked a room for five nights at the Sportsmen's Lodge beginning on Sept. 8 and checking out on the 13th. If anyone wants to hang out, let me know. It's only my second trip to CR, but been all over Asia. I can't recall if the SI has a pickup service from the airport or not and what it costs. Anyone know?

The Corobici Hotel is about 6-7 miles from downtown San Jose. About half way to the airport. I had a friend stay there, and he said they would not let him bring two girl at a time up to his room. Plus they have a chica charge to boot. I would avoid this place and stay somewhere else.

I would recommend the Hotel Castillo, the Sportsmans Lodge, or the Amistad Hotel.

I'm sick of hearing about CRT, pick a site and stick with it. If you're only going to monger in Costa Rica stick with CRT if you check out other areas than ISG is great.

Hey there Johnny Sax! I feel your pain. I haven't been down there in 5 years, but I'm going to be going back down early next month for a few days. One thing I know is new is the president. It's a chick and she was coming down hard on the fun, but as usual the business eventually wins out. How can you stop the oldest profession? I heard the old ZB is under new ownership and doing well. Prices $50 for the hour. More than I want to pay so I'll just keep hitting the little dives in Paseo Colon. From what I've gathered prices are still approximately the same. I heard one of my old faves is still at her locale. Guess she'll stay there till retirement.

Two things I need to know is if the exit tax is still $26 and what the orange taxis are charging for a lift downtown.

My hotel is still the same rate, and the dollar exchange is still approximately the same. My favorite pharmacy has closed, so I guess I'll have to pay what the street pharmacies charge. I used to use Farmacia Alvarez out of Alajuela, but no more. Good prices. Good service. Delivery to my hotel and all kinds of drugs too, not just the boner one.

Will post a report when I get back.

I have a friend / client who lives in Pattaya, Thailand. I havn't been to Thailand or Asia for that matter yet because of the distance but from what he says and what I read it's not a beacon for non-violence and that's putting it mildly. Bottom line is that as much as we like to let loose on these trips we always have to maintain our wits and keep our safety in mind, or a have sober wingman to impose on. Best of luck, Bunda man.

Having been to both SJ and Pattaya; these are the differences I've noticed:

1. Security Guards in SJ are a joke. Minimum wage earners and give them a gun. Police in SJ are only slightly higher on the food chain, but don't expect to see any near the Del Rey or Key largo.

I once took a girl up to my room at the HDR that I met in the Blue Marlin. When I came out of the shower I found her searching under my mattress. I kicked her ass out before I had given her any money. Security at the HDR told me it was my problem because I chose the girl, LOL.

2. The crime in Pattaya, from what I've read, because I didn't see any on my first trip last year, comes when you get too drunk and act a fool. There are reported news stories I have read of girls slipping drugs into an unsuspecting saps drink, then the sap wakes up and money and jewelry. All gone. There is a story posted in the Pattaya forum today of a guy describing how his pocket was picked by a ladyboy on Walking Street as she was grabbing his cock. Where it happened appears suspect because he said it was on Walking Street at 3 a. M. The reason I say suspect is because Walking Street at 3 a. M. Is still very lively. The fact of the matter is that the guy appears to have been drunk as a skunk.

The correlation between the two areas is that there is very little police presence in both places.

Both locations offer places you should not walk at night.

You can gather a lot of information on this site on the do's and don't's of all the mongering locations.

Bottom line is don't get drunk, don't carry a lot of money or flashy jewlery and draw attention to yourself.

Sometimes venturing into sketchy areas to find the cheapest pussy, can cost you in the long run.

Know your wherabouts and respect the locals.

OK Got in to town today. Mucho calor. Took somebody else's advice to make a $20 offer to an orange taxi on the second level and it worked like a charm. Very exhausted after the flight and all the traveling broo ha ha. Did make it to Oasis. 12k for half, and 16k for an hour. Five girls that I could see. I would do them all. They were all young and semi good looking at least. I had a very good session. It's good to be back.

I posted the link for infomational purposes only as I do not feel that the San Jose forum gets updated as often and expediently as it should be, especially in light of the incident (s) described in the article. Each of us must of course take our saftey and best interest into consideration when choosing a mongering destination. I will be staying at the Sportsmans the entirety of my Labor Day weekend trip despite the incidents. IMHO the SL is as safe and secure as it can be under the circumstances. The guards are armed, the iron fence is locked at midnight when the bar closes and the rooms have electronic safes. Of course, even these precautions can be circumvented by an inside job / employee involvement, which is apparently what occured with the incident at the SL described in the article. Whenver I noticed the armed guards at the SL I always imagined the possibility that some or all could turn. Also, I always figured that showing your key to the guard to gain access after Midnight obviously wasn't foolproof. I am most grateful that the causalities were limited to computer equipment.


I understand the Bill (the owner of SL) is implementing remedial measures in light of the incident which include guest lists which must be checked by the guards at the door before anyone will be allowed entry, restrictions on the guards, and credit card encryption software. Bill has been posting on CRT almost daily with updates and responding to questions and concerns.
