    Dollars vs. CRC

I see all the prices on the forum being quoted in dollars. Do you fellow mongers actually pay the chicas in dollars? If so, do you carry cash from the US in dollars? I was thinking of carrying minimal amount of cash and withdrawing local currency there in CRC.

On a somewhat related note, is there a real "Costa Rica for newbees" report. I have had these invaluable reports whenever I have visited other destinations (Rio, Bangkok, etc.) where a first time visitor can find 80% of the info they need in one spot. Of course, you do need to sift through the forum for the remaining 20%, but this one report gives you a good foundation to build on. I did not find any such thing for Costa Rica (may be its there, but I haven't found it... if so, please point me in the right diirection). I have already RTFF'd and having been able to piece together a lot of the basics, but would appreciate your help.

And of course, I will write a report or collate existing ones, if I end up going on my trip.

    Thanks a lot.

    Prices

Since this is my first trip down there - what is the going rate for a LT or over night for a true stunner from DR, Sportsman, etc - can I get if for $100US which the top of my budget?

I'm rather picky and want a younger attractive type.

Yes that's definitely the impression that I got - especially since I was offered short times for $25 by two Dominican girls after spending some time talking about their country.

The reasons I accepted the high price were: I didn't have much time, I didn't feel like haggling, I didn't want to get lesser service after getting the price down, I felt that she was worth $100.

With the threesome, $100 seemed pretty reasonable when factoring in cab rides to and from and the pics/vids and extra work involved.

$100 is not the short-time norm at the Del Rey/Blue Marlin, particularly in this current buyers market. You could have politely offered $60-80 and she would have likely accepted it. NBD, but, believe me, guys who know the scene there rarely pay that much. Friends of mine who live in San Jose consistently pull hot ladies out of there for no more than $50.

    The Blue Marlin

Recently spent some time in San Jose.

The Del Rey Hotel is very easy to find and visible from a large part of the downtown shopping district. The famed "Blue Marlin" is right there, though it's confusingly not labeled as such. Instead the awning reads "Hotel Del Rey Restaurant" (if I remember correctly).

First arrived alone on a Tuesday evening. The man working the door asked for ID, but said never mind once he realized I was from the US. I sat down at the small bar and ordered a beer. I must say that all three women working the bar were fucking gorgeous. I didn't RTFF enough to know if they were available but figured that if there were it would probably be much more than I was willing to pay. I later asked a Dominican customer I met and he said it was possible on a case by case basis with lots of work and cash.

The place was full of women, though they don't circulate enough in my opinion. It's necessary to do a few laps through the small casino, both lower rooms and the upper bar to see what's really available.

I was only approached by a handful of aggressive women. The prettier girls seemed reluctant to risk rejection. This seems to be the norm in Central American houses of prostitution.

There were just as many Dominicans and Colombians as Ticas.

I talked to a number of women but finally settled on a fairly attractive light skinned Tica with a nice natural body name Laurie. While chatting her up I noticed for the first time a super sexy thin blonde Tica with a gorgeous face, fantastic ass, flat stomach and big fake hooters. I'm not into fake tits, but she was hotter than hell. I should have went with the younger hottie, but didn't. I still regret it.

Laurie asked for $100. I didn't want to haggle so I agreed to this ridiculous (for Central America) rate, which seems to be the norm for foreigner-friendly spots like this. Laurie told me we could go to a room in the Del Rey for $100, or a short time for $20. I asked for a cheaper option. She said there was a $10 short time place, but said we'd have to walk. It was midnight, but I'm not really afraid of San Jose at any hour. Another woman told me there was a 5 dollar place around somewhere, but I never did find it.

We walked to the short time place hand in hand. I paid for the room and we entered. Not bad for a short time place. Pretty clean, sanitary plastic sheets, decent bathroom (though cold water shower of course).

She didn't shower. I should have asked her too. Let's say she wasn't 100% fresh when I DATY'd for 30 seconds. It wasn't terrible, but you could tell she'd been walking around in the heat all day.

She DFK'd me and stripped off my pants, jerking my cock lovingly and getting me instantly hard. She sucked me with a rubber then hopped on. We did many positions. It was good, but not so tight. Additionally, I was put off by the lack of freshness and her over the top moans. Everything was so "rico" even when it clearly wasn't appropriate.

After 30 minutes she seemed to loose patience. She started sucking again. Then jerking. The whole time, my penis was periodically inspected to make sure the condom was in place. Did she have a bad experience before or just paranoid?

She finally finished me off with a handjob. We talked after and she was a very nice woman. Kind and honest. She said she was tired of the job and was having even more trouble now with the down economy. She said she hoped to find a nice guy to settle down with to get out of the work she was in. She seemed genuine. She offered her number to hook up another time for a discounted rate, but I was headed out of town and declined.

I walked her back to the hotel then cabbed it back to my hotel.

My wife wanted to have a threesome with a hot Latina while in town. Originally she planned to come to the Del Rey with me, but we decided against it after checking the place out during the day. I got the number of a sexy Colombian girl while inside alone. I arranged for her to come to my hotel for a threesome with my wife and I. She said she was up for it when I met her, and arrived on time and looking good, but was clearly not enthusiastic. She went down on both of us and was open for pics/videos (after some prodding), toys and everything else we asked for, but it seemed she would never get into such a situation unless she needed the money. I don't mind paying, but in 3 some situations I try to ensure they're at least into the scene. This time I messed up.

The verdict: In a pinch, or if I was in town with $100 to blow on a gorgeous woman, I would return. But I wouldn't make the trip just for the Del Rey. I learned there are much cheaper places frequented by locals, but I didn't have time for further investigation.

    Hung Jury

Met up with Bunda Man after his exploration of Hotel G. I can confirm his assesment of the Hotel.
Unlike Bunda my wingman and I were walking down to the clarion and I noticed The word Hotel next to a she/he standing in the door. We had a good natured laugh and continued past Hotel G, the Clarion and on to Vips.
Other sites downplay a visit at this time of year but all I can say is the weather was good enough for me and what I wanted to do.
Priceing; I paid no more the 20 mil per 1.5 -3 hour session.
$80.00 for 2 girls out of the DR. Afternoon or night.
Edem had a great afternoon lineup Roberto was as always very pleasent and informative.
Relax well Jenny is not showing much, Alicea is great and the others were in the 4-7 range but priced right.
Surprice of the trip was 6th street & 747 4th street
Chubbs was a great place to watch a game Sunday as well as resonably priced food; Greg and his new manager Steve and the girls do a great job.
    Till November NO CEIN

    Beware, Of Hotel "G"

Apparently, the G in Hotel G now stands for Good God that's a Guy. A few of you were wondering about this place, which is located down the hill from HLH next to the parking lot for the Dunn Inn, after it's opening was reported about a month ago. My wingman and I ventured in this past Friday afternoon. The first person we spoke to was a food delivery guy who responded with an awkward NO when we asked if there were chicas at the place. Before we could go out the door, the staff came out to present themselves and they were all tranis. They were honest about their gender, but it was obvious to us nevertheless.

It is disappointing that we don't have another place to go to, but good for the tranis and those who love them as they have a much more private place to congregate than Parque Morazon!

As a general rule, for the most part the higher end MPs are clean as Jetsetter mentioned. I consider New Fantasy, HLH and IDEM high end and I have always seen the sheets changed by the girl after each session. On another note, New Fantasy now has a small bar in the lobby to the right of the reception desk. No chairs however.

Relax and Krysis, which I consider low end, even though the price for an hour is close to $40US for gringos, are relatively clean, as is Muses and Hostel Marruecos (which are still 10,000 Colones for a half hour). The rooms at these low end places are at least well lit so you can avoid lying in anything yucky! However, at these places I usually see the girls change the sheets after my sessions.

The rooms at the Dungeon, along Ave. 7, are just as the name suggests and along with 747 and Cha Cha Cha are some of the least cleanliest for me. I always chose to go doggy style with my sneakers on at these places. Don't see the sheets get changed as frequently at these spots. However, I have sessioned at all and have never had any issues, dermatological or otherwise.

Check Hotel Morazn. 2 minute walk to the Del Rey and Disco. Clean rooms and inexpensive. Around $52.00 per night. Small casino, lounge and free breakfast. Chica freindly and 5minutes from downtown. New Fantasy and what was Zona Blue a 10 to 15 minute walk. Best location that is affordable. Half the Sportsman and Del Rey rates.

    Hey David,

I am an old time CR monger here.....

For your first trip to San Jose, I would not recommend you stay at the Balmoral Hotel. It is well located to the action...but there are better places.

The Hotel Castillo for one.....less expensive, very chica friendly...no extra chica fees....and just a all round great place to stay.

My next choice would be the Sportsmans Lodge .....a great friendly place with an American ower---on site manager...Bill.....good bar, good food, and working chicas on site. You will need reservations at both of these hotels...they fill up fast.

Another friend of mine, a San Jose hotel owner himself, was specifically told by one of the Presidente owners that they are no longer interested in catering to us mongers, preferring to pursue business people and eco-tourists.

Yes, you can certainly run into friendly staff there, but shifts and personnel are always in flux. Problems people have had with the Presidente are much more documented on CRT. In fairness, some of the guys still love the place. I would rather, stay, however, at a hotel that genuinely welcomes my patronage and allows me to bring multiple chicas back to my room with not even an eyebrow raised!
I have no doubt that what you say is true and if they ever not let me bring a girl back to the hotel, I will stop staying there. Until then, I enjoy the place. I cannot monger 24/7 like I would have to at Del Rey.

As for the type of client they want, if it is eco-tourists, move the hotel to Arenal. As for business people, I have a couple of friends who travel for business and word will quickly get around that you could not bring girls back to the hotel and they will stop going there.
