I noticed that you said her "starting rate." I remember the time when a cutie looked at me and quoted cien. I almost spit my soda, and started laughing so all could hear. She quickly added that since I was a nice guy, she would not charge such a rate.

    HDR... action

Well, been in CR a few days relaxing after leaving Rio. A step down but still there is a charm here. The daytime action is hit or miss. Last night I picked up a this tica, nice looking but lacking skills in the sack. Her starting rate was $100 for an hour. After she noticed my wandering eyes the price stayed the same but she agreed to two hours. Then three hours and lastly allnight if I paid her cab fare to return from my apt. Also. Not much to report, I kicked her out after 3 hours. Gave her a coca cola and a smile.

The tension has seemed to ease a bit with some of the MP's opening back up after meeting the required handicap requirements etc.

I will sample a few soon. Enjoy!

I assume you're mainly kidding about that. In actuality, those 2 workstations MAY sometimes BOTH be tied up, but it is just as often being used by other mongers as it is by the chicas. BTW, there is supposed to be a 15 minute time limit but I don't think that is ever really enforced, at least as long as no one else is waiting to get on one. Any way, even if you do have to wait it is rarely for more than just a few minutes.

There are for more serious issues about using public terminals such as those in the HDR lobby.

    1) You never know who might be looking over your shoulder. At the very least, use some common sense. That situation would probably not be the best time to start checking out the naked HDR chica photos that are posted on this forum.

    2) You can never really be sure whether some dickhead had loaded some keylogger program on that open workstation you're borrowing and will come back after you to harvest your passwords and such (ie it may not be the safest way to log on to your internet banking website to check on your account). And even if there isn't a keylogger, there are other ways for them to get you. For example, if you use a public terminal, you should always remember to clear your cached browsing history, temp files, cookies (and passwords if you were stupid enough to check off any of those boxes at login). You' might be surprised how many times I've logged on to the internet at one of those type places and seen all the places the guys that were on before me had been.

    3) They aren't always configured the way you're used to. It is not that difficult to switch between keyboard language layouts, but the first time you go for an @ symbol when trying to send an e-mail and get something else or try to enter basic punctuation to no avail, it can really throw you for a loop. Even with public workstations that are configured for gringos, you'll still be missing all your bookmarks and other personal settings.

    4) Some guys like to bring their own laptops because they have it loaded with special programs or files such as their favorite games, music even videos plus perhaps special applications that they need for work they plan to do while down there (plus any data files that go with it). Some of that can be overcome by bringing the necessary files on CD/DVD or even USB drive, but you're not likely going to sit leisurely playing a game or watching a video for an hour or two on the public terminals in the lobby.

Personally, for me, these are relatively minor inconveniences. I can do my on-line banking when I get home and I usually have better things to do while in CR then sitting in my hotel room playing computer games. And, to the extent having that sort of capability might be a nice bonus, that all gets trumped by the added risks of having my laptop lost, stolen or damaged plus having an extra item to lug around (btw, laptops don't always fit in hotel room safes, so find out whether the HDR's do and bring a good laptop cable lock if they don't). However, I also realize that some guys don't always have much of a choice because they have to keep up with stuff at work (even while on a vacation) or they simply have different priorities. As Nixonbd has said - to each their own.

Hdr does have Ethernet LAN ports in the rooms. Just ask for an ethernet cable at the front desk, and they'll hook you up. Make your own wireless network with something like the Apple Airport Express.

HDR does have wireless available in their rooms.

I heard recently that they are not charging for it anymore.

Not sure about the wireless because I never stayed there but they have two or three internet terminals downstairs that anybody can use for free. Most hotels that I have been to have free internet terminals somewhere in the lobby that anyone can use.

The raids have extended to more tico-oriented MPs as well outside of Barrio Amon, according to CRT members in the know. Nonetheless, I think this is a short-term issue and I'm not that concerned. You are indeed correct that numerous MPs are still open. BTW, I have a comprehensive MP map with dozens of entries. But even if every one of them were shut down, I could still have a great time in San Jose. You have the Del Rey, Key Largo, the Sportsmens Lodge, and a number of strip clubs with on-site rooms. Also, after ten previous trips to CR, I know a number of ladies who are just a phone call away.

There's still more than 30 MPs in the downtown area alone. The day of the raids I asked a few cops about them - bottom line - the Gringo MPs were targeted. The others are still doing fine.

    Green_Thumb,

Take a day, go to the beach and go Sailfishing. Jaco Beach has great fishing and just by chance has a bar that rivals Blue Marlin. Beetle Bar.

    Have fun

    Thanks Roberto

Following the show of force by the Ministerio de Seguridad Pública and the Municipalidad de San José in closing down massage parlours in the downtown San José on Thursday, many like IDEM (picture above) were open for business as usual by Friday afternoon. The police action was based on lack of or expired licenses. However, operators say that the municipality is on a "witch hunt".

IDEM opened yesterday and will maintain regular hours.

My only hope it, if the girls from the MP's are still working the bars by Labor Day (this would be if the MPs have not re-opened by then), that the high priced girls in Del Rey, Key Largo and Sportsmans don't talk them into raising their prices.

I can oonly imagine the irls all getting together for a meeting. All the cien girls at Del Rey would tell the MP girls they have to start charging more. Next thing you know, I hit Del Rey on August 29, and now all the MP girls are asking for cien.

I don't think that will happen, and I expect several of the MP's to be re-opened by then, but it would suck if the P girls realize they can charge more in their new venue.

It would be nice to see the Gardens Bar at the Castillo full of ladies looking for a place to work. Then I wouldn't even have to walk to Sportsmans.
