    Can you say Ripped Off

"We had the taxi waiting, who later took us to the massage place two blocks down to new fantasy. Here they do not do 30 minutes and it is $43/hr. The have more of a Thailand style fish bowl type setup."

You were had by the Taxi my friend. I am sure others will chime in.

Its too bad because NF is one of the better deals in the Gultch.

Better luck next time. Any don't be afraid to walk around the city its great exercice and you don't get clipped by the taxi's looking for a cut of your action.

    Taxi tour

thank you guys for helping me plan this trip.

couple of good friends and i rented from an airport hotel and rove to the city. first hit zb around 2 pm. hey, i thought i read this forum extensively but still missed the fact that if you stay at zb you get unlimited pops for $20/each. however, i don't think i would have stayed there.

my first take out is clarissa (?). face is a 6 but body is a 8.5. very good service. she showered with me before and after. bbj, daty, mish, doggie. nice. i love the ceiling mirrors.

my friend took maria and was in love with her.

i took kathy from nicaragua. she is a bit shy and not overtly friendly..may be if my spanish was better she would have eased up. in the room she did not shower with me. she loved being kissed on her neck and ears. she melted. i felt guilty, almost like a ****, because she looked like she is 17. she said she is 20. ok then..i got on with a daty which she enjoyed. cbj and the standard stuff.

we had the taxi waiting, who later took us to the massage place two blocks down to new fantasy. here they do not do 30 minutes and it is $43/hr. the have more of a thailand style fish bowl type setup. there was a hottie who is tall, fair and was wearing a black woolen hat. you could not pass this one. my buddy took her and he had a great time. we did not find much choice there so we left our friend there and went back to zb for another session.

all of us later drove to idem which was dead at 5 pm on saturday. the taxi took us back to the hotel.

btw: i promised one of you that i will report on tango india. i am so sorry. i was dog tired and did not go out the last night. i still regret not checking out del ray and ti. oh well, there is always a next time

    Hello Guys a little HELP!

Hey I am headed back to CR late May (2 yr absence) and I am looking for this girl? Is she still working? I have had fellow CR mongor tell me she is still working but I just want to be sure, this is the only picture I have and I just found it. She was (might still be) a good provider. Hey can anyone tell me any information and how much she is charging these days? I use to be a regular with her long sessions very GFE (all day or night). Usually 150 for the session. Let me know if you have seen her or done her (LOL)

    ATM Use

I've used the ATM in the Del Ray lobby many times and never had a problem.
Also, you can interchange dollars and colones at the casino, usually with pretty decent rates.

The one recommendatrion I do make is, notify your bank where you're going and what dates you'll be there. I had my card cut off on my first trip to CR, luckily is wasn't until I returned.

    Thanks RexG

For the great report. As a newbie myself, preparing for a San Jose trip, you gave me some great tips for getting around and keeping it in perspective. Thanks for the map links.

My trip's not until June, but I'll try to do as good a job in return.

    Hey Rex,

Negotiations had nothing to do with it. What are you going to do, offer extra for "service with a smile?"

I have learned many methods that I use to make the chicas feel comfortable, put them in a good mood, and do
everything I can to see that they have fun, too.

Plus, I talk to them quite a while before pulling the trigger, so that I can make my best judgement on their personalities.

Despite all that, there is always one or two every trip that go sour once they are back in the room.

Most are friendly, many enjoy their work, but some don't. And never will.

Once I had a chica explain her [CodeWord140] poor attitude by saying "To me it's just a job."

I answered "Find new work, your not any good at it. You're fired."

RE: Learning my way in San Jose

Rex, great report. I too recently made my newbie trip and made a few rookie mistakes. I'm not all that surprised the ICE lady "took ownership" of your situation. I found Costa Ricans in general to be really nice folks. Yes, that includes MOST cab drivers.

What you say about San Jose after dark is so true. It's the single thing I did not like about San Jose compared to most cities I have visited. It simply is not a good place to walk around at night, it gave me a feeling of confinement. I always took cabs at night to specific places.

Thanks again for the report, sounds like you had a pretty good time. I hope you get to conclude your business with Elizabeth on your next trip. ;-)

    Rex,

You have to File a official complaint with your bank and they try to collect the money, if the banco does not respond on time they send you the money (your bank) the same thing happend to me in Jaco, It took months but got my $300 back bueno suerte.

    Rex,

Sounds like you had an interesting experience. Sorry to hear about your $80.00, but just think how much more you could have lost going home with this "Elizabeth" before knowing her better, and being seen with her at ZB.
I have found that it is much safer to at least stay on neutral ground for a while.
I will be there this Thursday and will give your love to Elizabeth!!!

Do you have a photo? i don't want the love to go in the wrong place!!!

Learning my way in San Jose

Here is a report on my recent visit to San Jose. I arrived very early on Monday, 17 March, for a four day visit. I departed very early on Friday, 21 March. This was my first visit, although I am not new to mongering. Most of my recent adventures have taken place in Brazil. But with only a limited amount of time, and with new direct air service to San Jose, I thought it would be a great time to visit Costa Rica. Overall the trip was a success; however, not without a few rookie mistakes and other minor mishaps.

The first lesson I learned was to heed the posts in this forum with respect to ATM hassles in CR. I wanted to get some colones, so I requested 40,000 from the ATM near baggage claim #1 at the airport. The machine started to make the proper money counting noises, but then went "temporarily out of service". And it neglected to return my debit card. My Spanish is very poor, so I appealed to the woman nearby who was selling phone cards for the ICE telecom company. She immediately took ownership of my problem, and worked her way through the Spanish phone tree at the bank until she was able to talk to a human being who gave her the number of the bank branch serving the airport. We then waited for the branch to open, and she called them for me. They didn't offer much encouragement, but she kept after them, calling them repeatedly. They finally relented and sent someone to retrieve my card. It took three hours, but I finally passed through customs with my precious debit card. This happened on Monday. On Thursday morning I checked my bank account and discovered that the 40,000 colones had been deducted from my account (but I never received them). I immediately went to Banco Costa Rica in San Jose, but they were already closed for the Easter/Spring holiday. I don't have high hopes of recovering my $80.00. I did have good luck with the ATM at HSBC bank. This branch is located on Avenida One towards the financial district which would be about a 10-15 minute walk west from the Hotel Delray. At the HSBC bank, the ATM also requires you to relinquish your card completely to the machine. It is probably best to find an ATM where you don't let go of your card.

The second thing I learned is that the week before Easter is not the best choice for mongering in San Jose. It is a spring break type of holiday, and many of the choicest chicas were apparently at the beach, or perhaps they were just resting their kitties. The real holiday started Thursday afternoon with liquour sales halted and the city becoming almost deserted. Hotel Zona Blue was apparently the last place to serve liquor, but it closed at 18:00 on Thursday for the weekend. I am so glad that I left early on Friday morning, because everything was shut for the weekend.

So my rookie lesson number one is to avoid the ATM's of Banco Costa Rica. And rookie lesson number two is don't visit San Jose during spring vacation. On the positive side, I learned how helpful the people can be. Lizelle (that's not her exact name) at the airport went all out to help me. Without her help, I would have had to cancel my debit card, and use a credit card (loan) to get my colones. I wanted to show my gratitude, but I was uncertain whether or not I might offend her by offering some money. I finally offered her $10.00, but she refused to accept it. She did give me her manager's e-mail address, and I will send him a very nice message on her behalf.

A final word about ATM's. Most of the posts in this forum discuss chica negotiations in US dollars. So I had two rookie questions. Can you get US dollars from the ATM's in CR? Will the chicas accept payment in colones? For both questions, the answer is yes. You can request dollars from the ATM's, but it really isn't necesary. At least in my very limited experience, the chicas negotiate in dollars, but they will accept colones in payment.

I chose to stay at the Hotel Zona Blue in spite of the expense. It seemed like it would be a fantasy come true to stay in a luxury suite in a brothel filled with beautiful women. And it was a pleasant stay. Eddie and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. All my laundry needs were fulfilled at no charge. (I did tip the maid.) But I don't think I would stay there again. I like rooms with lots of natural light. There is zero natural light anywhere in Zona Blue. And it closes early (9PM) and becomes nearly deserted. I like the idea of having a bar open at least until midnight. During the week, I visited Sportsmen's Lodge and El Castillo. Next time I will choose one of them. Zona Blue currently has a breakfast arrangement with the Clarion Hotel (one block to the north). Apparently there are a few glitches in this arrangement, and some of the staff at the Clarion don't accept the voucher. So ZB started giving me cash for breakfast instead of a voucher. Problem solved.

Due to the spring vacation, the second team at ZB was carrying the load. Gone were the superstars that I had wanted to see. No Andrea. No Mille. No Karin. No Naomi (although I may have spotted her on Thursday just before the holiday closing). One of the Pamela/Lorena duo was there, I think maybe it was Lorena. While many of the girls seemed to sit in the bar all day long, this Lorena (or perhaps Pamela?) was in very high demand. She would spend about 35 seconds in the bar before leaving with another client.

I was initially surprised by the number of chicas from Nicaraqua, but it makes sense that the greater poverty there probably pushes the pretty girls into the trade. Nearly every chica I met, and every chica I fucked, was from Nicaragua.

I was also surprised by the temperate climate of San Jose. The high temperatures never reached 80F/26C during my stay and there was always a nice cool breeze. The nights were actually chilly.

At Zona Blue, I sampled Suzy and then settled in with Klarissa. Suzy has had some good reports in this forum. I thought she was OK, but not great. She is nice looking and I can understand that some would be happy with her. I was also attracted to this (relatively new?) Klarissa. She has nice natural tits, great legs, fine ass, reasonably flat stomach, and beautiful skin. She is in danger of becoming a little too wide in the hips, but currently she looks very nice. She is in great shape for having two childen. During my visit, I found that I wasn't very attracted to many of the others in ZB, so I had several sessions with Klarissa including some 2 hour sessions and one TLN. She doesn't do BBBJ (not even with tip), but otherwise her manner is very nice. I think we had a very good chemistry. I like taking things very slowly, and she absolutely did not rush things. And she kisses forever. A very nice, unrushed, GFE experience, but not a PSE-type experience.

I also wanted to try the infamous Blue Marlin bar, and I went there in the early afternoon of my second day. I was soon in the company of a very very pretty Nicaraquan girl who called herself Joanna. (I was also approached by several other chicas who did not interest me.) Joanna was very friendly, and after about ten minutes, the negotiations began. She started at cien, but I held firm at cincuenta. I didn't really feel like this chica was a must. She finally agreed to the $50, but some of the friendliness was lost in the process. For some reason, I felt funny about taking Joanna back to ZB, so we went to a short time hotel around the corner from DR. The cost for the "room" was 4000c plus 500c for a condom. By this time Joanna had completely changed from friendly/sweet to business/professional. She provided full service, but not exactly with a smile. I know that various members of this forum negotiate the finer details of a session, but I personally don't care for that approach. I guess I will sometimes pay the price for not dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

During the days, I walked all over the central part of the city visiting several of the mongering spots (New Fantasy, Bar Idem, Sportsmen's Lodge) but not partaking. I visited a few of the cultural attractions. I recommend the subterranean museum of culture and the national museum. Both are located on Avenida Central within easy walking distance. I was completely ignorant of Costa Rican history, and now... well I am no longer completely ignorant. I found the displays of recent Costa Rican history (in the national museum) to be particularly interesting. Finally I visited the mercado central, also on Avenida Central. I highly recommend this window into the everyday lives of working class Costa Ricans.

During the nights, I typically had dinner around 19:00. I had originally planned to visit some of the bars and strip clubs, but for some reason, I decided against this. I didn't feel very adventurous in San Jose at night when the city takes on a rather mean and deserted look. It would have been nice to be able to return to a hotel (e.g. Sportsmen's Lodge) where there was nighttime activity, but, alas, this was not possible at ZB. Live and learn.

Here are the links to the maps that I used for navigation in San Jose:

    http://www.adultcostarica.net/
    http://www.dongordo.com/dongordoSJmap.php
    http://www.hotel-presidente.com/arch...ttractions.pdf

ZB also has a supply of excellent San Jose street maps available to anyone who visits there. They are on the table to the right of the reception desk.

As I said earlier in this post, everything started to shutdown on Thursday, the last full day of my visit. Since ZB was one of the few spots still serving alcohol, it became rather busy prior to closing at 18:00. I finished my last session with Klarissa around 17:00, and I wandered down to the bar for a final beer or two. This is when I met the young, sweet, crazy Elizabeth. She is also from Nicaraqua. I really liked her and I felt sad that fate had left me with no time to get her into the sack. ZB was closing soon and I was still spent from my session with Klarissa. I threw caution to the wind and asked Elizabeth to spend the night with me, even though I knew I had to get up very early to catch my 6AM flight. But Elizabeth said no. She had to care for her child. So we said good-bye and parted. I returned to my room, but I was very restless. Soon ZB would be closed and deserted. And all of San Jose was closed and deserted. There was still some daylight left and I decided to go out to try to find a place to eat. As I walked out of the door of ZB, there were still some girls there chatting and waiting for cabs. Elizabeth was still there. I impulsively asked her to go to dinner with me. She made a quick phone call and then she accepted. Great. But where to eat? All the restaurants were closed. I thought that the restaurants in the large hotels might still be open, so we made the short walk to the Holiday Inn. Under normal circumstances, I would never want to take a date to a Holiday Inn for dinner, and I was a bit concerned about the chica friendliness of the place. But we had no problems. Elizabeth knew that we were getting a few stares, so she stroked my arm with her fingertips and rubbed my leg with her foot. She knew I was a little embarrassed and she was loving it. After dinner we walked to a cab and she asked me to come over to see her place. Without any good reason that I can put my finger on, I felt timid about this and I declined the invitation. Instead, I spent the rest of the evening in the deserted ZB in the middle of the deserted city of San Jose. Without a woman. And without so much as a single beer. [Please note that Elizabeth is not the real name of this girl. I decided not to run the small risk of getting her in trouble with ZB management. Her actions with me were probably against ZB rules.]

Aside from the lonely ending and the rookie mistakes, I feel positive about my short visit to San Jose. I would like to give it another try. I have learned a few things. I know that my next visit will be more successful. And I want to fuck Elizabeth...

I think Pantera Rosa is more of a suitable budget if you are going to a strip club. I think they have those pantera closets where you can take the girl for 14k and I was quoted as 150us for a real room for 1 hour. The girls are pretty hot too.

isn't there a legal limit for the number of questions one can ask in a single post?

    1) yes, tango is the club that has an airplane hanging from the ceiling.

    2) to be honest, i'm not really sure what the dance prices or cost of "extras" are there. since it has such a bad reputation as an overpriced high-pressure clip joint, i've never bothered to check it out personally. if you go:
    . . .a) bring your "guard-on" with you,
    . . .b) watch your tab,
. . .c) resist the pressure to spend more than you really want to and
. . .d) absolutely don't get drunk there (or go there already drunk) as that will reduce your ability to follow a, b & c.

    3) my guess would be that any "extras" you get there would be very expensive because it would require plying the dancers with expensive drinks before you'd get "any". and if f/s was on the menu it would be even more pricey still. the best bet while there is to get whatever titilation you can in terms of enjoying the scenery and perhaps getting/giving any feels you can without having to shell out any more than you have to. if you want to go for f/s then somehow arranging it outside the club would be a much cheaper bet.

    4) cost of "take-out" at any of those types of places are entirely dependent on your bargaining skills and the willingness/ability of the dancer to string you along. will she be much interested in going back to your hotel with you at the end of a long shift, if she's already made a ton of money from you by getting you to buy her drinks and lap dances (ie without having to "put-out" that much)? otoh, will she be much interested in going back to your hotel with you (or spend much time with you at the club) if you somehow manage to hold on to all your money while you're there? if she is willing to entertain the idea of meeting you outside the club, what do you count as the cost of "take-out"? is it just what you agree to pay her back at your room or should you also include all the money she got you to spend on her will you were waiting for her to finish her shift? i suppose you might be able to get her to leave early by paying some sort of bar fine. again, i don't really know how it works at tango india. however, places like this in cr don't seem to work quite the same way they do in other mongering destinations, where bar fines are the norm or even the principal way clubs make their money.in cr, even more than elsewhere, business logic seems to be completely absent. otherwise, they'd lower their prices to some level that would draw in more than the tiny handful of customers willing to pay the outrageous amounts that they do charge (not to mention willing to put up with their pressure tactics). and of course any "bar fine" they might have would have to adequately compensate them for what they think they'd be losing by letting you leave with both your wallet and one of their dancers (who'd otherwise be able to help them work the next customer if she stayed).

    5) sorry, no pics and their website tangoindia.net no longer seems to work, however the word is that they have absolute stunners (as well they should at those us strip club prices).

i left this out of my last post, but, imho, if you really want to experience the best of sj (in terms of mp, bar and strip club), then someplace like pantera rosa, kamur or d'pelufo would be my own choice - each with really good looking girls and with much greater likelihood of being able to relax and enjoy yourself while there without spending all your retirement savings. in fact, although i don't know much about it, d'pelufo also has a club out by the airport near where vitrea will be staying and if their club in san pedro is any indication then that might be the best place for him and his buddies to wind up their evening. if they go for that, i'd be really curious to hear their report.

an alternative approach if you don't care about paying the few bucks extra for cabs is to gfo to tango second. just for the show, before capping the night off at the hdr where you can more easily take a chica out for a tln (todo la noche or all-nighter). however since you asked about st rooms, i'm assuming that is not really what you're after.

I'd start out with ZB. Like most MP's it is not a real late night place (I beleive they close at 9PM during the week & 6PM on Sundays). But the bigger reason to always start out your SJ stopover with a visit to an MP is that they have a set price (excluding the extravagant tips that some guys lavish on the MP girls). Get that first nut off at an MP and you'll feel less compulsion to give in to that cien ($100/hr) asking rate at the HDR/BM, which I think should be your next stop.

The HDR/BM is a 24 hour playground but it runs particularly busy from "happy hour" in the early evening until 12-1AM. It definitely keeps going after that but by then you might find that the best "catches" may have been "fished out" (if not already taken out for a TLN, then paired up with guys who are going to be taking them out). Now, before someone attacks me for this last comment, let me allow that some guys might argue late night is a good time to "shop" as you're more likely to be able to bargain the chicas who had been holding out for that cien all night and had no takers (and thus are more apt to give in rather than go home completely empty-handed). And that is certainly a valid approach. The problem is the hottest chicas have no trouble making their score earlier in which case they're either gone for the rest of the night on a TLN, have made their goal for the night and can go home early with the money they set out to make or are back to score more dough but are clearly not as "fresh". For someone seeking to experience the Del Rey at its most impressive, IMHO, the middle part of your evening is the best time to go.

BTW, the Del Rey doesn't offer short term rooms but you can find $10 rooms just around the corner at the Hotel Asia (all the chicas will know where it is). You can also sometimes rent a room for just an hour or two at the Hotel Morazon. That hotel is on the next corner over to the west of the DR and due south of the Key Largo, which you should also check out while you're at the DR. The Key Largo has live music and salsa dancing after ~10PM each night. The chicas that hang out there are not as goodlooking as the ones that stay at the BM but it is a fun place to go and watch the girls dance (or even join in if you think you have the moves).

Finally cap off your evening at the Tango India on your way home from the Gulch. It is located in the area of Uruca, which is pretty far from the other places you're going and in the direction of the airport, and so it doesn't make much sense to have to travel back and forth. The girls there are pretty pricey, so you might want to just go there for the eye candy before calling it a night, although it might be possible (and probably cheaper) to talk a dancer in going with you back to your hotel at the end of her shift in the wee hours of the morning (if your money and energy lasts that long).

An alternative approach if you don't care about paying the few bucks extra for cabs is to gfo to Tango second. just for the show, before capping the night off at the HDR where you can more easily take a chica out for a TLN (todo la noche or all-nighter).
