Spent a great Turkey Day visit in SJ, just getting back on Tuesday.

Had I known it, they have a turkey buffet at the New York Bar that we missed out on. But I digress. We stayed at the Balmoral and were pleasantly surprised. It was very clean, the staff very friendly. One thing I didn't do, is if you book a room for two, you get a bigger room. You still get hit for a chica fee however. Not sure what the fee was, but my bill for the four nights was $51, the room was already paid for in advance. That covered the three girls I took up to my room. They have a decent free breakfast too.

As for the girls. Let me add my thoughts. They have very beautiful girls in the HDR/KL area that make men drool. My strategy is to look for the one's off by themselves, not flaunting themselves. Why? Because generally, the first topic is "where are you staying, do you want company" is the first thing out of their mouths.

I found one girl the first night in the New York Bar, invited her over to my spot and we had a great time. Never did the topic of money come up, even after the romp in my room. Did I pay, yes, but nowhere near the $100 asking price the fake tit Barbie-doll girls ask. I did it to be nice and pay for their time. All three that I ended up with were all nighters. And the second and third girl I met were both out of the HDR. Were they 10's, no. Were they in the 7. 8 range, most definitely. And, I don't feel the need to show them all over the internet in photos like they were trophies. If you respect them, they'll respect you.

I also have to add that there are a lot of classless Americans who give us a bad name down there. Some advice; clean up your act, don't get drunk like a college frat boy and show some class, it goes a long way.

You guys need to realize that what stevewxly is saying is spot on. They do not like you, they like your money.

Perhaps you need to look for chicas outside San Jose. I too lived there in 2002, and a lot of what you say is spot on. However I did hook up with several non working girls, that were just happy with a nice dinner, but you have to develop these relationships. Not every tica will open their legs on the first date.

You guys also have to remember in the eyes of the working girls, americans are nothing but money trees. The working girls in most cases, are uneducated, and cannot fathom something like a middle class guy. It just does not exist in their minds. We are nothing but walking ATM's to many of them.

The odds for this happening to them is about 10000 to 1. My point is that they have to make as much money possible in the shortage period of time, in order to secure a future for themselves, their kids and in many cases mama also. Brief report of my thoughts......after being in residence in San Jose for the last seven weeks.
And I have made many trips to CR and SJ in the past....

The local girls.......after meeting perhaps over 100 of them in the last 6 to 7 weeks.....Tica, Nicas, Colombianas, DR.s, etc. I have come to the realization that they are only interested in ONE THING.....and that is how many bucks you are going to shell out to them in like the next hour.

It does not matter if you have a nice big expensive house here, or car, or boat, or anything. You could be Donald Trumps younger monger brother....with riches in the BILLONS.....none of that matters to the chicas....and we are talking about the working girls plying their trade almost anywhere in Central America.

They simply do not care about anything else other than how much money you are going to give them.....not this month, not this week, not today....but only in the next hour or so.

The biggest mistake I´ve made in the last few weeks since living here is that I thought since I had a $ 300,000.00 home located about 3 miles from downtown SJ with 6 bedrooms, 7 baths, swimming pool...that that was going to ¨"cut some ice" with any of the local working girls. They could simply give a shit less about all that.

And another thing is that once they figure out that you are living here more or less full time....then they consider you to be a "local gringo" and as soon as they find out that....they will drop your ASS like a "frita caliente"....the world famous....hot potatoe.

They mostly are looking for gringos who blow into town for a few days or a week, and who have a hotel room close at hand. Within walking distance if possible....like you meet them in the DR...then they only really want to go up the elevator to your room....give you a quick covered BJ....and a covered Quickie Fuck....get their $100.00.....and be back downstairs within the shortest time possible from start to finish......even before the leche dries on your dick.....if they can manage it.

Then its on to the next guy with $ 100.00 in his pocket.............

It happens in the DR probably over 100 times a day....hell maybe 200 times a day on a weekend.....and Big John the owner or the DR pays them absolutely nothing....nada....to work there....but collects his $ 10.00 every single time they go up and down the elevator to your overpriced room at the Del Rey Hotel.

Back to the working girls....they will lie, cheat, do anything they need to do to put some good cash in their pocket...........they don3t give a SHIT about any guy.....only the money he gives them....so fellas be advised.

One other small thing....I have met perhaps 2 or 3 gals in the last 7 weeks who I thought might be a good canidate to invite to go to the beach...Jaco, or possibly to Bocas del Toro, Panama for a nice weekend, or on to Panama City for a week.....but I have thought way better of doing that.....hell it would be exactly as they say , " to carry coals to Newcastle "....or to the unlformed......."to bring sand to the beach". Save your time and your money....and forget doing anything like that.

This old dog has been (nearly) everywhere, laid countless numbers of hoes....and the bottom line is this.......none of the gals gives a Shit about who you are, what you do, where you come from, or anything else. Nuff said ........

I do not say this in anger...., as I am not angry at them or myself.....this is just a "heads up" to all who pass this way.

ok here goes my cr rookie report.

first part i will describe cr itself.

then i will compare it to my normal mongering spot dr(pop).

well i went down on thanksgiving day.

i read a great report from kid brooklyn before hand that warned me of the long lines.

as soon as i got off i headed straight to the immigration line (which was empty) but on the way i passed the cambio booth and decided to stop and even $45 i feel uncomfortable in a country and not having any local currency.

this was a big mistake.

by the time i turned around what was once a empty hallway now had a line stretching past the little shop on the right hand side.

an hour later i was through customs.

getting a cab to morazan was fairly easy.

the airport guy snatched me up before the local cabbies could get a shot.

i heard horror reports of people not getting their reservations correct, but they had me down got my safe key and card in like 15 min.

the room was clean, shower was hot tv worked.

i really had no complaints. since our friends on spirit air done feed us i was starving.

i ordered something from the hotel while i didn't expect great hotel food i didn't expect it to be quite so bad but hey cest la vie.

since i only changed $45 at the airport i went to the casino so i could change about 300 more.

the lady said no can do only 100.

i was a bit perturbed by this since it was already 7 and the cambio across the street was closed.

off to hdr.

i went up o their casino booth and the woman changed the whole $300 no questions asked.

she then told me where the world famous blue marlin was and up i went.

i hung out there till about 10 and the place was jumping.

there was a wide variety of girls there tall short ticas nicas colombianas domincanas. qite a few had tit jobs done.

many looked like they were out of some magazine or wanna be models, with the attitudes to match.

also saw lots of lots of guys drinking and having a good time.

i met a few of them hell some of them may even be board members and i didn't even know it.

after about 2 hours there this black dominican girl was dad on my case.

she was a little too chubby for my taste so i just bull shitted and brushed her off.

then i saw this tall slim morena i flirted with earlier when i saw her on the street.

called her over bought her a drink and we talked for about a half hour.

i told her i had to go to the rest room for a sec.

when i came back she was poof, gone like smoke.

i hung out for another 1/2 hour then went over to key largo to see what they were saying.

soon as i walked in i saw the sme chick hanging out in kl talking to a local dude.

i decided to leave that alone and see what else was there.

there were quite a few girls there but they seemed to be into themselves or not too concerned with me.

fast forward to 3am its been a long ay/night.

i say this to you future cr virgins that go there becaus i had to learn the hard way hat the country of costa rice does no believe in 2 things.

well at least i think.

anyhow.

this place is a cheap local joint something like 8000 cl for a 30 min session.

its the exact opposite of zb.

in not only that sense the performance of the girl.

she did bbbj and much to my amazement swallowed.

however i don't think i would go back there its way too cheap and dirty and i'm afraid of crabs from the beds or lice.

but for those of you brave sould thats where it is.

later on that day i tried to find the other local mps but had no luck.

until i went to get some food and met another monger.

he directed me to europe 2000 which was so discret i walked by the place 3 times and didn't notice it. i guess i figured they would not have the audacity to have such a place directly across the street from the busy bus stop.

the wome there were ugly but it was run by a nyrican who spoke perfect english.

so thats a plus for those of you who are spanish challenged.

the other place is across the street and less that 50 meters down.

for all intents and purposes lets call tis the golden gate place.

thi was even more discreet i would have never found it without the fellas help.

the girld there were few (2) but looking much better about a zb level.

the fellow monger and i decided to go with them.

the one i had was a really short 19 yo nica.

i would rate her as a 7.

great service clean rooms.

and they also function as a hotel for $26 a night.

with safes in rooms.

just shared bathrooms.

went back to kl later that evening and basically messed around.

at this point i had no interest in picking up girls in hdr or kl.

as i was not feeling them at all.

i resolved myself to hanging out with female canadian tourists and joking around with the working girls only one did i find appealing but she refused to accept my $60 at 3am.

so i lost interest and went back to bull shitting.

sunday was much of the same.

since the mps were closed i toured the city and talking with guys at hdr.

went to vip later in the night but didn't see anything appealing.

i went oto see the dentist steve recommended.

his name is sergio chen or as i nicknamed him dr smiley.

he saw me the same morning i called.

the office was clean as well as the rooms inside.

he was really pleasant and smiley.

what i needed to get done was braces.

in order to do the braces they mus remove 4 perfectly fine teeth (which was exactly what a dentists in the states told me).

anyhow dr smiley said he can pull the 4 teeth for $50 usd.

and an orthodontist he works with can slap on the braces for $400-500(i was quoted $5900 in the stated after a 2week wait for an appointment).

needless to say i was satisfied with this answer and will be returning to cr to do this and only this.

as mongering in cr is not my cup of tea.

on the way home.

this airport is slow.

if you go.

1st go pay your tax $26.

then fill out the form.

before you get to the ticket counter.

no one told any of this and it was mass confusion when we got up there.

ok this is getting longer than i tought so let me do my quick run down comparing cr to dr.

flight:

my tix to cr was $300 from miami 3 months in advance.

however at least 2 people on the plane said they got tix for $200.

tix to dr(pop) usually run me about $400.

they only tax your $10 though and they force you to pay it up front.

before you even get to immigration.

it kinda helps when going back.

the cities:

san jose: landlocked.

noisy and full of city people going about doing their hustle and bustle.

very fast pace like any major city and not very relaxing.

mongering seems to be side action of he city not the major attraction.

sosua (dr)is a sleepy little one road town on the coast.

beaches are within walking distance.

no big buildings no hustle hustle no casinos.

just a lot of girls.

bars

and guys on motor bikes taking you from a-b.

everything is within walking distance and its fairly safe at night.

i have walked back to my pad there at 3am on several occasion without incident nor have i heard of incidents.

accommodations:

san jose i only saw hotels to say at.

morazan cost me about $45 per night which is pretty good.

i had no issues witht he hotel at all besides the little chica fee for having 2 girls, them forgetting to bring the food i brought up to my room and refusing to change more than $100.

other than hat it was fine.

dr: 1st time there i got a hotel room.

65 per night.

safe in room.

there was no chica fee but they do check ids.

however.

there is another hottel called eupropa which is almost like the hdr of sosua.

girls hanging out there all day and night.

however i usually get apartments.

i rent them out for $35 per night; depending on season of course.

i get living room and bed room and balcony with this.

no safe in the rooms.

no chica fee.

nor do i have anyone checking for her id(in case she forgets it. get your borderline **** minds out the gutter lol).

finally the girls.

i fount the women to be very fake in attitude and body.

full of themselves and robotic when it came to sex.

it was really hit or miss few girls at the mp seemed to give a decent screw.

but that was a quicky.

i don't know who/what /how when the girls got spoiled down there but the cien asking price is ridiculous imo.

sure they can be negotiated down but the fact that i have to run my mouth for a few min i find highly annoying.

walking through the hdr reminded me way too much of walking through clubs in miami.

were the woman are waiting on men to pick them up.

cr will only see me again for cheap dental treatment.

However there are solutions to posting pictures and not identifying the girls...you can still use your jersey but have them turn their head away or just crop the foto appropriately so they cannot be easily identified...

Sorry to hear about this BS re chicas being aware of your photo postings. I don't think its fair to blame CRT per se, however. MOST CRT members get just as upset when this unfortunate situation happens to them, and CRT administrators have specifically expressed their disgust at this kind of behavior. Is it possible that an idiot or two who happen to be CRT members are guilty here? Of course.

I can certainly understand if you never post another photo, but I really hope you do not stop posting accounts of your experiences in CR. You are truly a top-tier contributor on this board, and I have greatly enjoyed perusing your entertaining and informative posts.

Well, it kind of sucks when your trip is hampered by a sore throat that turns into a bit of a cold. If anybody has any useful tips on how to stay healthy even with lots of DFK and DATY and so forth, please advise.

Day 1

I arrived at SJO at 10 PM Wednesday night. Immigration was slow and I checked into HDR just before midnight. Note that I pre-arranged ground transportation with Interbus. The service worked fine and is only US$6 each way.

After checking in I proceeded to check out the sights at the hotel. My first impression was that it was much bigger than I expected and that there were far more girls than I expected to see.

I did not shop around much for my first chica experience as I was tired and simply wanted a little relief before I headed to sleep. Carla (20ish, morena, short) had a lively smile, spoke passable English and gave an average performance. Not a girl that I would recommend or try again but gave the service I needed. (I did chuckle when she started at "cien" as the forum had prepared me well for this. We quickly agreed to $60 and we were on our way)

Day 2

I woke up late on Thursday and was much better prepared for the day. After some coffee and a good breakfast I began to search for talent. I was in a mood to drink and laugh and had fun chatting with various girls (and of course buying drinks). One of the girls I spent some time with was actually a resident of Jaco and was in San Jose for the weekend to visit family and make some money. I forget her name but she was 30ish, blonde and very slim. She had spent three years in my native Toronto as a stripper and spoke excellent English. She was also a great source of local knowledge and shared some insight on the various girls. She had to leave to pick up her son at school and I expected to meet up with her later. I did not see her again and do regret not having a chance to session with her.

I ended up having a double with two chicas. (Jackie – 25, taller, blonde, implants; Julinha – 20, morena, slim and natural tits). They claimed to be hot for each other and we negotiated for $140 for 2 hours "completa". They actually showed very little interest in each other in the room but at least did show interest in me. The session was okay but nothing that I would consider memorable. I have to admit at this point I was beginning to compare Brasil to Costa Rica and was not impressed with the performance of Chicas. None of the three had shown any of the "love of sex" that I have experienced with most GDP’s.

I returned to the bar and decided to go to the restaurant. I had a very nice dinner and ended up talking to a gringo who was now a full-time resident of San Jose. He asked me about where I had been spending my time. He asked if I had yet experienced the "bathroom guards" or the bar at the opposite side of the lobby. When I appeared puzzled he offered to take me for a short walking tour of the different areas. I followed him and we stopped at various parts of the HDR as he explained the various areas. He also pointed out a few Columbians and Nicas and demonstrated how to tell them apart.

He left me to explore and I now had a new strategy. I decided to take my time, move around and shop the entire place. After about an hour I noticed a cute little mulata standing in the upper bar. We talked briefly and began to discuss price. We ended up at $80 for 2 hours "completa". I cannot remember her name but she was great. She was about 20, very slim, no tattoos, no implants and very sensual. She was into DFK, did not watch the clock and left the room every bit as satisfied as I was.

Day 3

I had gone to bed at a reasonable hour the night before and now had a chance to see the HDR in the morning. One of my lasting memories of HDR is that the place truly has different cultures at different times. The morning is more low-key, the afternoon starts to pick up tempo (the "shift change" between 3 and 5 is quite interesting), the evening is the full buffet and late night is when some bargains can truly present themselves.

I spent several hours talking to an older girl (again I cannot remember her name but she is slim, late thirties and has been at HDR for a number of years). She seemed to be friends with quite a large number of the younger girls and the table was busy as others tried to share in their friend’s bounty (free cigarettes and free drinks)

I originally had no intention of having a session with this woman but after sitting back and watching her low-key manner and enjoying our conversation, I decided to give her a try. It ended up being my second memorable experience at HDR. She was skilled, loved DFK, knew all of the positions and had a surprisingly tight little body. She laughed afterwards at how much fun she would have teasing the younger girls about being chosen instead of them.

I finally ventured out of HDR later that afternoon and did a little shopping and sight-seeing. The city has more of a "big town atmosphere" and is quite easy to navigate. I managed to locate some of the places that I had read about in the forums (El Presidente, SL, etc) but soon decided to return to the hotel.

I figured I was due for one memorable session prior to my return the next day. At around 6 PM I began to look for something exotic. I considered trying out one of the Columbians but frankly am a little turned off by large silicone tits. As I was walking through the upper bar I heard a soft little "hola" and turned back to see a tall Dominican with a big smile. We talked for a bit and I invited her to join me for dinner. We went across to the restaurant, shared a bottle of wine and had a very nice dinner. She then suggested we go to the little bar where we could sit a little closer and finish the wine.

Again I cannot remember her name but she has been in CR for almost a year. She is tall, slim and has no surgical enhancements. I brought up the subject of her fee and she said that we could discuss later. I told her that I did not want any misunderstanding later and preferred to simply get this out of the way up-front. We agreed to $70 for 2 hours.

This ended up being the highlight of my trip. This girl was into it from the moment we hit the door to my room. Everything was on the menu and I sampled it all. I think we started around 7 and when she left at 10ish I could hardly stand. LOL. She did not discuss any additional fee but I handed her an extra $50. She offered to stay the night but frankly I needed some sleep.

I returned home on Saturday and have had time to reflect. I admit to being biased towards Brasil but CR is truly a unique mongering experience. I will return as CR is easy to get to for short stays and is reasonably priced. I am also rather in awe of the whole concept of a "live-in brothel". Another little side note is that the San Jose airport seems to function more efficiently than any other in Latin America. I paid my exit tax, checked in at Delta and was through security screening in about 25 minutes.

I agree about crt. I still like that board for occasional restaurant review, but other than it's pretty redundant -- alot of bitching, criticizing anything and everything, and 5 trip "experts".
