On another note: Played a bit of pool at Sportsmens Lodge last night. I enjoyed a few games with one cutie in particular, but she was being jealously guarded by a giant guy. I took the safe option and went to Blue Marlin Club around 10pm (6am Dubai time, and it sure felt like 6am to me - I was bushed but determined to have some fun). I wanted to keep my post a readable length yesterday, but since it's a rainy afternoon in SJ, here is the longer version, just for you.

Trust me Lorenzo, It happened, and it was no fun spending another day in NYC with only my passport, credit card and ATM card and a bit of cash. Plus wondering if I would ever see my luggage again - including my laptop, three USB drives, two cameras, and newly purchased sex accessories.

I flew Taca. You are right - they breached the regulations. By the time I woke up at the airport, there was no-one at their desk, so I called their 1800 number twice that day. On the first call I re-booked my flight for the next morning ($100 rebooking fee) and asked how I could track my luggage. The guy said it would be on the flight to SJ. I pointed out that they cannot take unaccompanied luggage. He said they would. Still concerned, I called later in the day, and was told by another guy that they absolutely would not take unaccompanied luggage. Now I was worried, as I would be in SJ next day and my luggage would still be in JFK. He told me the only thing to do was arrive at the airport extra early and ask the TACA guys.

This story is getting long, but bottom line is I arrived at JFK early, the TACA guys were confused but helpful. They made a few calls, and sure enough my luggage had gone to SJ without me. I pointed out it shouldn't have. They pointed out anything is possible. Not only that, but my e-ticket had been given to someone else!

I was a bit pissed off that they left without me, considering I was snoozing in the seat closest to the boarding gate. It should have been obvious I was the missing passenger.

When I boarded the plane, the lead agent checked my boarding pass and said with a smile "Ah! Mr. Piper! You decided to fly today." When I mentioned I had fallen asleep and no-one looked for me, he said they left 45 minutes late while they waited for me.

Epilogue.

I arrived at SJ airport, went to the TACA guys, and after 15 minutes they brought my luggage to me. I opened it to check it was all there, and the guy told me not to worry, he had already opened it yesterday and for security reasons had checked everything. With a sheepish grin, I asked "Everything?" and he showed me the inventory: laptop, two digital cameras, backpack, etc. He forgot to open the black plastic bag with a couple of vibrators, masks, lube, full-body stockings etc.

I posted, some time back, my "first day of stupidity". Of course I am writing with some humility on my experiences in Costa Rica. Maybe some can learn from them. I am not, however, presenting the following as an authority on the subject. Again, if you would like to read how it all started, scroll back to my original post "my first day of stupidity"

I think it's important to state that I am a bodybuilder, not to be impressive, but I think it will explain what some of my expectations were.

1) I didn't go to Costa Rica to get laid, no more than a child goes to Disney World to watch cartoons. I get laid at home plenty. I did expect a chance to chose some very top quality, young (over 18), women that would be somewhat reasonably priced. What I found were girls that were in their mid-twenties on up, that all had children, and most had really stinky pussies. One girl that told me she was 26, actually was 32, when she presented her passport at the hotel counter. 2) Since I only went for what I considered 9-10s, and there were damm few of them, I found them unwilling to negotiate below $100. I would offer $60-$80 and they would walk away. One even offered to introduce me to "other ladies that would take $60. " So, some will say they got pussy cheaper, and I don't doubt them, but I wonder about the quality. I found the Blue Marlin full of women of all levels of quality, and I am not sure that's even a good place. I did go to New Fantasy and Zona Blue and found the women there to be less than acceptable and walked out. Maybe you if I did repeated visits I would find better, I don't know. Again, I wanted prime-cuts, not some passable chick to fuck for pennies on the dollar.

3) Everyone seemed to talk about how dangerous it was there, e. G. Muggings in Parque Morazon. I walked through that park at all hours and never once felt unsafe, nor did I on the streets, or when I got lost in the bad section of town. Nobody asked, but let's talk about safety. You shouldn't go to Costa Rica to get wasted. I don't drink and maybe I am bias, but do you "need" to drink there? Save the drinking for when you get back to your hotel room. No matter what part of the world you are in, NYC or San Jose, every thief looks for a drunk. When you are walking the streets, maintain a serious look, not a threatening one, but one that makes you appear alert and ready for business, walk with your hands in a fist. No thief wants a confrontation, and if you look like you'll kick ass, he'll/they'll avoid you. I had a knife at all times too, not a pocket knife, but a good stabbing one. But, I was in the Army and I know how to use it, it's not a hard technique to learn, but don't carry one unless you know how to use it. Also, do you really love that beer gut or wouldn't you be happier with some muscles? Work out for a few months and make your trip to Costa Rica you reward.

4) This maybe a little hardcore for some, but take alcohol wipes (70% or better). Wipe your scrotum, dick, and the whole pubic region after each session. Your balls are banging against that infected pussy and when you flaccid penis comes out of that condom, guess where it lays. Against your infected scrotum. It only burns about 20 seconds, be a man and suck it up. STDs hurt a lot worse. All the chicks I had, were so impressed they used my alcohol wipes too and I even let them take some. Do it!

5) Know your limit! I paid for two girls, $100 each, on separate occasions, and didn't cum! Felt kind of stupid, but there is a limit to the number of times you can cum in a certain period of time.

6) Never believe their claims about not rushing you and how they'll give you a good time. They all rushed! They are all sweet and full of promises until you get them to your room.

7) Darkness can fool you. At the Blue Marlin I turned down a chick because she didn't look very good, and ended up picking up somebody else. Guess what? The one I chose looked worse in full light, the one I turned down, I saw in the lobby the next day, she was much prettier in the light. I really regret that situation, but try and get the lady you are talking to, to go with you to a more lighted area, it doesn't hurt to make sure.

8) I stayed in over 7 hotels. The absolute best deal, cleanest room, etc. Was the Sleep Inn next to Hotel Del Rey.

9) Don't stay at the Hotel Del Rey. I wouldn't know from experience, but every hooker in the Blue Marlin told me that. I think they would know and I would heed their advice.

To answer some of the questions that people wrote about my original post.

1) I rented a car so I could drive around the country, not to drive over to the Blue Marlin bar.

2) I knew about a "tica tax" I didn't know it was $47 at the Holiday Inn. Besides, Holiday Inn sucked! I thought I could bribe the doorman to let the girl in. The girl waited until we got inside then she went to the desk and made me go with her. I guess I could've backed out then, but it was the first night.

Well, I'll probably think of more to say. I know some of the old hands will pick this apart, but I think the perspective of a first-timer, written in truthful humility, is very educational.

My flight and ALL my luggage had gone to SJ without me (I'd put my carry-on inside my suitcase).

Are you SURE your luggage went to SJ without you and wasn't taken off the plane? If so, this was a serious breach of security. Since 9/11 there has been an FAA regulation that no plane is to take off with unaccompanied luggage. I was once on an American Airlines flight out of Miami that was delayed for nearly an hour while they removed luggage that had been checked in but the passenger didn't show up. That's why I'm somewhat skeptical. What airline were you flying. I'll be sure to avoid them in the future!

I arrived in SJ this morning after a traveling nightmare yesterday. After checking in at JFK airport two mornings ago I managed to fall asleep in the waiting lounge. (I'd had a big night out and a blowjob in a Manhattan club, and no sleep for 30 hours).

My flight was 630am, but I woke up in waiting lounge at 9am, dazed and repeatedly saying "Oh fuck". My flight and ALL my luggage had gone to SJ without me (I'd put my carry-on inside my suitcase). This afternoon I went to Zona Blue to pick up a discount card I'd paid for online a week ago. It wasn't there. The manager said she would give me the discount prices anyway if I wanted a girl now. Most of my mongering experience has been in Asia (so that's the framing I bring.)

Also, $100 or so is the going price. What was not clear to me is was this for Short time? OR all night? Typically, I like all nighter, GFE types.

I travel the country solo most of the time, rubbing elbows with ticos on public buses and practicing my spanish, staying in tico hotels and visiting tico bars. Last trip, I climbed Mt. Chirripo. One thing that seems to be overlooked in this string and many other discussions about pricing and chica experiences, is the amount of time one spends in San Jose.

If you're visiting for a long weekend or maybe a week or 10 days once or twice a year then you are going to have a completely different mindset on hooking up verses a guy who spends a month or two at a time a couple times a year.

The infrequent traveler hasn't the time to experiment very much and his experiences are mostly limited ....thus making my experiences and 2964 and others, RCB (possibly) ventures seem a bit unrealistic

Believe me, two straight weeks at ZB, SL, DR and Kl can get a little old.

Venturing out for a change, and taking the risk of no pussy for a day or two can be very threatening to the occasional visitor.

So maybe not to fast on critisizing of what you really don't know and keep an open mind that maybe someday it could be you if your willing to do the work and put in the time.

If 2964 had specified that the 7K for 2-3 hours moonlighting with a pensiones whor, we wouldn't be having this discussion. If he had said that he was privey to some special deals with the ZB or NF chicas by virtue of being "willing to do the work and put in the time" (or as likely several sessions where you weren't getting special deals and possibly laying down heavy tips), then I'd even believe he could get them for below session price, just not anything near 7K which nowadays is a TIP at ZB. BTW, if you were a rabbi you'd know that it is priests who deal with wafers and moyels that deal with foreskins.
