I wouldn't expect any weather conditions, except flooding in Jaco I suppose, to restrict your options enough to worry about. Prob more important to avoid Easter week & other religious and national holidays. Have a good time!

May be a difference in numbers of gringos. Peak is Jan through March. Chicas may know that, so may base their strut on that, but who knows. Some have contacts who know how many guests the various hotels have in them, and this may influence whether they show up to fish, or stay home doing other things.

Fewer gringos is not a bad thing. Lower supply would hopefully keep prices lower. Though, I know chicanomics doesn't follow any sensible economic principles. I'm not a guy that loses sleep over spending $5 USD more. But I have avoided CR primarily because I've read consistently that it is expensive for the hobby. The prices are definitely higher than other countries I visit. But, I am a bit excited to venture to new destinations.

It's been a really long time since I've been to Costa Rica, but I remember that August used to be a favorite time for me to go. A very "fertile" time to be there. If you get my drift.

Fertility is a scary word in this hobby. LMAO Not a concern for me though. Snip snip. Haha But I appreciate your response. I'm neither a fan of heat or rain, but it sounds like August may otherwise be a good time to visit. Thanks again!

I'm leaning towards splitting a week between San Jose and Jaco. And I have alot of research to do but most looking forward to places like Sportsman's and Cocal. Lots of research to do but I've yet to read anything about volumes of girls fluctuating one way or the other in the rainy season.

I have stayed at the hotel several times. Most recently the weekend after Super Bowl Sunday. I wish I did. Though the girls at the front desk are always nice when you stop by with a girl to go upstairs, the process becomes tedious of the girl with the Cedula and you signing the book. It was more problematic when I got to my room and Racquel showed me a picture of her knockout girlfriend who hadn't been "upstairs" all day and was willing to do a threesome for $100. I called down to the front desk and was told I would have to come down, log her in and pay an additional fee. Ugh!

Question? Is the ten dollar daily fee paid in advance for unlimited girls in the room per day? If you know?

I book through an agent of the hotel who does all my reservations. It's outlined on the room reservation sheet that the first girl is free.

So, if you just get the regular room rate, you'll be charged $12 for the girl. They have additional charges if you take two girls at the same time, or if the girl stays in the room more than a couple hours. I always pay the extra room rate where the girl fee is waived; but to each his own.

This is good to know. So if I choose to take only 1 girl to my room per day (night), then I guess I'll save only $2 per day if booking for two people. I plan to visit a massage casa for the daytime session which will be using their rooms.

I guess I never noticed the 10 dollar difference in rates booking through Taormina site since I've always booked for 2. Also remember that booking for two includes two breakfasts in case you are convincing a lady to stay overnight. Or want to double up on breakfast yourself to get your calories in for afternoon romps. Haha.

After the first freebee I've always paid the 10 now 12 for the guest fee. Theyve never asked or clarified if girl is staying a few hrs or overnight. I need to clarify next time if there is a lesser rate for just an HR in room.

Also stupidly I've never tried the next day to get my freebee as well for paying the 2 guest reservation.

[The Cane]

The ONLY good thing about the Castillo is that it is truly "all inclusive"; meals, drinks and guest fee all included in the room rate. Though the restaurant only serves during set hours for meals; it's not 24-hour. The rooms are kind of a dump and I was in the prime suites on the top floor! The girls are limited that hang out there and some are a little rough looking too. Whereas the Taormina is pretty much a regular flow of girls, especially later in the week and Friday and Saturday night. Plus you have a decent casino there, a gym and now the kitchen is open all night. The Taormina is worth it!

I've never been to Castillo but I've always preferred the energy and atmosphere of Sportsmen Lodge. Sorry Mike Mark that you had that terrible experience, definitely not professional. Almost how I get when I get screwed over by a cellular service provider swear them offf then get had by the other cell carriers as well and soon there are no more viable ones to use their services. Love the bartenders there. Security is friendly. Seems like they are stricter with who they let in and don't based on prior bad or shady behavior with clients.

At least you still have Taormina. Taormina has the most Holiday Inn or budget hotel feel. I do prefer their rooms and cleanliness over Sportsmen but I like that SL has no guest fee and you have options of rooms with jacuzzis. At Taormia if you book for two be sure to remind the lady at reception so she doesn't charge you for the first lady you bring up to your room. I'm used to seeing many girls bounce around in taxis from one location to the next when they get no takers at one. I've walked from Tao uphill to Sportmen passing Castillo many times and also over to Del Rey at night. I've never felt too shaded out. A few beggars or trannies on their corner that a quick no Gracias or "no tengo nada disculpe" gets them to quiet up. And usually police presence at the park / square you cross going toward Del Rey. Not sure if that has changed since Tao became the main spot. I've been recently, a little less than a year ago and forgot to even check out the Jungle Bar. I stayed in main Casino and bar area on main floor. Even met some nice talent in the mornings and midday something less likely at Sportsmen.

Thats why I was hoping someone could confirm that Sportsmen still gets good action at night or on the weekend. Planning to split my time between both next trip if it's worth it.

Sportsmen though be careful what rooms you choose. Better in the mansion wing or the new wing. Some rooms look great but if they are around the bar or worse in the front by the entrance where security sits the noise and privacy gets a score of zero.

Mike Mark please do give some feedback on Tango India or Pension Monicas if you end up going like prices and experince if you can. Thanks!
