All the bars are running girls out of their affiliated hotel, but only one has its act together and it's interestingly enough Bar Tropical. The streets were pretty empty aside from the usual touts and paraditas and the reason is all the mongers were holed up in Hotel Rizo. Yes, there is a bus. I took it myself several times but I don't remember the bus number. You may find all the info you need if you go to the San Ysidro bus website (or possibly the greater San Diego public transpirtation). Sorry but I don't remember the details.

That bus is specifically for those coming back via Ped West. I took it once a couple years ago. You can walk also or take cab / uber I believe. Is all how you want to "roll".

I agree with the things the other posters wrote. Most important are the safety of Thailand compared to the dangers of Tijuana. Second most important is that the Thai girls will have a fun attitude and make it fun for you, don't expect that in Tijuana. Expect the Tijuana street girls to have the same passion while working as the guy at Jiffy Lube who vacuums your cars interior.

Why spend days traveling across countless time zones to Asia? Just go to your nearest major Canadian city, if you want safe mongering with plenty of GFE. A few bad ass Policia will try to scare people into giving them some money. I would not give them any. Just be calm and cool with them. Take down their car numbers and all info and tell them you will report them to Internal Affairs. Deny you have been drinking or carrying drugs and refuse to get into their car. Tell them to call in their sergeants and you want to go to the station to see the judge. They would waste their time and have to let you go.

One time I went past a stop sign on Coahuila and policiia saw it. They stopped me, searched my wallet. Their sergeant showed up, total 3 cars, 6 pigs. I was trying to give the sergeant a 100 peso note to let me go, but he would not take it. He left it up to the 2 original pigs. They kept telling me I clearly crossed the stop sign and the fine was something like 1,000 pesos. After 10 minutes of haggling, the bros my my car was getting hungry for the AYCE Churrascaria do Brazil, so I gave a guy a 100 pesos. He was groaning that I was cheap. I gave the other guy another 100 pesos note. They let me go, laughing, even stopped traffic so we could pull out.

Just keep a few 100-peso notes in your pocket and deal them out slowly if hassled by hungry cops hehe.

This post is going to tick off some Tijuana lovers, but this is my informed opinion.

Here is your your big mistake: "I've been mongering in Thailand, Colombia and some parts of Europe so I'm sure it won't be too different than those places." I'm very familiar with both Thailand and Tijuana and you are wrong. If you are thinking of seeing many cute spinners for street action like Sukhumvit Soi 4, forget it (you might find 2 in all of Zona Norte).

Apparently you are familiar with Bangkok (Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy and everything in between), Pattaya (Soi 6, Walking Street, LK, etc.) and Patong Beach (Bangla Road). On a really good day, the total of what is availability in Zona Norte, Tijuana, is far less than the worst of those Thailand options that I mentioned. On a good day Tijuana is about as good as RCA Entertainment in Ao Nang, but it is much different. The Tijuana girls are lesser in terms of beauty, service, and attitude. IMHO, losing HK is losing the best part of Tijuana. The streets of Tijuana are not safe like Thailand, you must stay in the heavily populated red light district.

I can get laid in Tijuana about 8 hours after leaving my home. I can get laid in Bangkok about 28 hours after leaving my home. Given that trade off, I still see no reason to go to Tijuana unless I'm already in Southern California.

There are, indeed, more Latinas in Tijuana than in BKK. It all depends on what service level you want, and how much of the fabled "GFE" you expect. Thailand tends to have that in spades, although it is on the wane. It's much harder to find in Tijuana because the scene isn't oriented to that, it's oriented to the wham-bam-let's-get-out-of-town mindset. If you're going for bar girls, know that the typical session is 30 minutes and they will try to squeeze $100 out of a newbie. As I said in the other thread, with the pandemic you may get a bit more mileage, but don't expect it. If you want street action, the "paraditas" are available in the alley and along Constitucion Ave. They typically offer 15-20 minute sessions starting around 500 pesos.

So, as long as you're going into this with your eyes open, fine. Don't have any great expectations because right now the Zona Norte is not a very fun place to be.
