    Ab!

Fresh, if it is MILFs with BIG boobs you seek. Then AB is your goldmine my friend.

I do agree with Rippa, don't limit yourself. I love Tropical and the chicas there are not yet as into the routine as AB and HK girls. I know most guys hate fichas (I don't like them either) but since I speak spanish it helps me decide if I want to proceed or cut my losses. I lose $8 but save $52 by not going arriba.

I'm starting to think waiting untill Monday to cross back instead of a Sunday is not such a good idea after all. I had a slight dilema yesterday when crossing back, for the first time ever the ready lane was longer than the general line. I decided to stay in the ready lane, even though I thought it might be a bad idea due to there always being more lanes for the general line once you reach the agents. I did scope out some people in the general lane to keep an eye on to see who got there first. It was a game of leap frog one lane would surge ahead then the other would do the same. But in the end the general lane inched ahead and won, even though the wait was almost the same. One thing that has changed that makes it a little worse for the general lane, is now the people who are dumped off from the buses join the general line instead of being dumped into the handicap line. The time before I crossed on a Monday I went in the morning and I thought that's why I had such a delay. This time I got in line at 5:45. Pm And the wait was a solid 2 hours.

As far as the Ticuan goes I have used the in room safe there many times to keep cash in and never had a problem. When it comes to changing currency I have found you will get a better rate changing it in the USA rather than Tijuana. There are a bunch of Cambios located around the trolley station, in the area right before you cross. As far as what percentage to change that depends on what you want to use the pesos for in Tijuana. You don't have to worry about anyone not accepting dollars. For myself the only real advantage I have found in using pesos is when dealing with SG's while they will always start the negotiations at $20 they will almost always accept 200 pesos which comes out to about an instant $4 savings. You will have no problem finding a cab from The Zona to Ticuan at any hour. When dealing with taxi's I to would ask how much to get to where I'm going. But once you figure out the Gringo prices and the local prices it is best to tell him what you are willing to pay if he says no walk away and another cab will be coming by in seconds. The ride from the zona to Ticaun should be about $3 however if you ask the driver they will usually say $5.

    PHORDPHAN.

Thanks for the information on Sotano Suizo I have tried to find that place a few different times. On a Tijuana restaurant map I have used in the past they show the location as being past the Holiday Inn in the area of 20 de Novembre. Now I have a real good idea of where it really is.

    PIMPINIT.

I do want to apoligize for Sunday night but you know how it is, Bitches be drunk Bitches be crazy. Well at least the beer bandit didn't get you this time.

My flight has been set up and I am set to arrive in San Diego on the morning of August 26 2014. If anyone is in town from the 26th to the 28th and wants to grab a a soda (I don't drink) I would more than welcome that. I figure I should be in Tijuana by lunch time, get settled into hotel, have lunch then head out to have some fun. For my first visit I am planning on keeping to the larger bars, so expect trip reports when I get back.
Hey 'Freshie', why limit yourself? Sure, see the biggies, AB and HK by all means, but I'd suggest you broaden your horizons; stop into the legendary Chicago, definitely spend a little time with the FOBs in the Tropical Bar, and cruise through Las Chevelas, Playboy, all of them you can get to. And don't miss strolling the Alley for eye-candy SGs if nothing else.

And round two of newbie questions. As far as my hotel goes, I have decided to stay in Tijuana. Now while staying in la Zona sounds awesome, I have also heard great things about Hotel Ticuan. Would it be fairly safe to get a taxi from La Zona to Hotel Ticuan in the early morning hours? I have also seen that some of the rooms at Cascadas and Rizo have safes and so do the ones at Ticuan, are those safe at all? I am taking just a backpack with two pairs of pants a couple of shirts and some socks and underwear so if those dissapear, oh well. What I am most worried about is my plane ticket home and money.
If you RTFF, you will see both the Cascadas and Ticuan have their merits. If you are only banging SGs and BGs, go with Cascadas, but you will be at ground zero, it can be noisy if you are a light sleeper, and many guys don't stay here for more than a couple of days at a time. Ticuan is very nice for the price, quieter, and gets you out of the Zone to 'decompress', which can be helpful. Also, if you are entertaining escorts, this is the place to do it. Most will NOT go to a hotel in the Zona. Yes, use your room safe, but only for extra $$ and MAYBE your passport, carrying a copy with you. I personally just carry the original, zipped up in my pocket. BTW, who has PLANE TICKETS anymore, man?

Back to hotel choices; when I have time, I like to break it up a bit and spend a night or two at each hotel, El Ticuan and in the Zone. Personal preference. If you do use the Ticuan, it's a safe and interesting short walk to and from the Zone during the day. A bit deserted at night, so I'd advise a quick, inexpensive cab ride. Cabs are readily available at any time, in the zone or at the Ticuan. Don't use the cabs that pull into the Ticuan driveway -- much cheaper to walk a few steps to the corner and pick up a cab in front of Las Pulgas.

Speaking of money do you guys recomend I exchange my money to pesos and go from there? I would start exchanging money at home as I live near the border and would probably exchange maybe half of what I am taking before I even leave.
I've found the best exchange rates are on the US side, but NOT always. Unless you are going to spend a lot of money in Tijuana, or are a real cheap Charlie, I personally don't think it's worth the hassle. US dollars are accepted everywhere, especially with the ladies. And remember, you always get screwed exchanging anything left when you return. So unless you visit Tijuana a lot, or can spend pesos readily back home, I wouldn't mess with it. Again, personal preference. But whatever you do, bring LOTS of singles!

I am fluent in Spanish and do travel into Mexico, so not too worried about communication. And I actually do have the habit of asking a cabbie how much to take me somewhere before I hop in.
Speaking Spanish with the locals, and especially the chicas, will open up a whole 'nuther world for you my Brother. At times I actually feel a bit sorry for the mono-lingual Punters who join us down there. Yeah, many of the damas can communicate in some English, but many cannot. To speak some Spanish with everyone just enriches your encounters by several orders of magnitude, and can even lead to some mind-blowing satisfaction, often difficult to impossible to find here in the Sex Prison that is America. Just MHO. Hell, Tijuana alone, and it's many features to savor, is enough reason for you non-Spanish speakers to take some lessons. The Putas will often reward you for that courtesy and a little extra effort on your part!

One last question for now, I am really into the busty MILF type, I should have no problems finding that right?
No, I'm sorry to say, Mexico, and especially 'La Frontera' is the land of little, itty-bitty-titties, didn't you hear? LOL. Walk into any bar, but especially AB or HK, and be prepared to have your ever-lovin' mind expanded when it comes to the definition of curvy MILFS. (are they all natural? Well, that's another matter) And you will see just about every other size and flavor of woman your heart could possibly desire.

Thanks for all your help guys!
Dude, I know it's easy to do, we've all been there, but just don't over analyze this too much. It sounds like you know Mexico, so like any large urban anywhere in the world, you know to keep your wits about you, but don't fail to have some FUN, too, and just go with the flow. Eat some great street tacos or venture out to many of the really nice restaurants you'll see written about on this thread. Hell, I really enjoy the chit chat and like to mess with the meseros a little, they often appreciate the banter.

OK, now just pay it forward by doing us all the favor of writing some INTERESTING Field Reports when you get back, will ya?!

    Safe Travels,

    -- Rippa.

Decided to veer off my usual path which is HK and AB and take a shot at an escort. Made the appointment with Mundo at cumintj.com. So the reason for this report being in this thread as opposed to the escort thread is that I want to give my view that escort services might be a superior alternative or a good compliment to the gogos in the zona. At least that was the case for me.

A little about me: I don't speak any Spanish. I usually take solo trips to Tijuana for the sole purpose of mongering, but sometimes come with friends for the "strip club" experience. I am not a bargain monger since I don't go too often, and when I go to HK / AB, I bring 250-350 bucks and hope to have some left at the end of the night. GFE is important to me, at least some aspects of it. I am quite reserved and have a hard time bargaining for services (bargaining on price is standard). I am quite cautious and try to make the trips as low-risk as possible.

So I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the escort agency. No bullshit approach, you tell them which girl you want and when, he calls them while you are on hold and tells you the situation and their availability. Mundo offered a ton of flexibility for me in terms of meeting place, meeting time, choice of motel, etc. I have dealt with 8-10 agencies before (non in Tijuana) and there is usually some kind of angle (bait and switch with photos, additional fees in room, shady atmosphere, too much personal information asked, etc.). There was none of that here. Really high quality service. I now am looking forward to trying out the other top tier agencies.

Provider was on time, looked exactly like in the pics, did everything advertised, etc. It was kind of a great experience after I had a few disappointing trips to AB and HK that. I am thinking that my next trip might start out at HK for some drinks and the party atmosphere, that I will get a room at Cascades for the night, and just use the agency on top of anything else I might want. That's the thing, HK is great to party and get in the mood, but sometimes it gets annoying with the whole upsell and everyone trying to get tips. That would be all A-OK if the arriba sessions were consistent. With that said, I have had shitty escort sessions before and I guess it makes it all the worse if you pony up more money and have a terrible session there.

Anyway, just wanted to give my $.02.

Last thing at 3:15 PM today, I waited about 2 hours and 30 minutes to cross the border on foot.

    Sotano Suizo

I've "found" another great place to get away from the gringos and have some pretty decent food. It's a very easy taxi ride from the Zona.

When Anthony Bourdain did his Baja show a couple of years back he visited here. Unfortunately, that footage wound up on the cutting room floor. I remembered it this Saturday and, having the time, I decided to find it.

Actually, I've been driving past it regularly, but didn't know it was there. It's on the SE corner of the "Las Tijeras" glorieta. It's in Plaza Zapatos, which is a huge flea market on the weekends. Also along the road frontage are a couple of bars, La Cantina and Pancho Villas. But no indication of anything else.

Using Google Maps as my guide we parked along the street, and then walked past the main building and around the corner. Wow. There's a virtual rabbit warren of little bars, restaurants, clubs, etc. , all lurking back there, most of it hidden from the street. More on that later.

We found the place. Actually, it's hard to miss due to the big Swiss flag on the wall and the big menu in German (the only one I've seen thus far in Tijuana). They have a sort of "basement" (hence the name) with a large window, tons of street-level inside seating, outdoor seating and lots of TVs, showing baseball and soccer. Happy hour is every day, 5 - 7, 2 x1 mixed drinks and beer. What's not to like?

The French onion soup sounded great, and I was drooling at the thought of some good fondue. But I was there for the hot dogs. If you like sausages, you won't be disappointed. Juicy, red color from the Hungarian Paprika, a bit spicy, overall very tasty. As you can see by the pic it's on a large French baguette which is covered with strips of Swiss cheese. Then three or four sausages are placed over that, then covered with mayonnaise, deep-fried onions, fresh tomatoes, mustard and those delicious grilled Chilis Gueros. Washed down with a cold Tecate. This is the "Mamuth" dog, about 1. 5 feet long and it sells for 200 mxn. They also have a "regular" size dog for 100 mxn. You can easily feed three with one of these. Beers were 20 mxn, IIRC, and my date's Margaritas were about 50, but memory is fuzzy on that point.

Overall, this is a great place to hang out, watch some sports if that's your thing, eat some pretty decent food that's not too common in Mexico.

On a side note, we returned in the evening to check out the other places. There's something there for everybody. La Cantina had a Mexican band, Pancho Villa is mostly recordings ranging from Beatles to Pit Bull. There's also a Pulqueria, a Mezcaleria, many small holes-in-the-wall, some goth-looking thing called the Monastery. I wanted to check out several places, but my date was Miss Ultra-Low-Key and didn't like any of them. So, next visit might be with Rocky the Flying Squirrel or somebody with more energy.

    Good Report

Thanks for the report The Cane, This is how it should be. A newbie would get a lot of helpful info from that. I too agree that those agents are just doing their job. It's not easy having a job to give people a hard time. Even though I still hate the ones that are dicks about it!

In any case, glad you had an overall good experience. I am heading down there in a few weeks and look forward to my new adventures. It has been WAY too long. If I was on the west coast I'd be broke.

I agree 100% with speaking spanish opening up doors. I speak spanish what I would say is well above average if not close to fluent (Even the slang terms etc.) and it has helped big time. Every adventure I leave with a lot of #'s but of course I am not trying to be a PLM so most stay in the trash in my Ticuan hotel room. But it is nice to be able to call back on a good session outside the club.

I usually stick with club girls or escorts. I have tried the SG scene a few times and it's been 50/50 which is why the guys that find a gem keep going back to them. Most are mechanical. Amazingly I would say my experiences are around 50/50 also. I think what makes me not so inclined about SG's is the rooms are dumps with nowhere to wash up. At least with a Club girl or escort you can wash up good and feel fresh and ready to go.

One other thing I agree is the order of clubs you like. Adelitas is my favorite by far. But I do love HK and Tropical too. A few of the smaller bars are fun for me too though because I have made some "friends" with meseros / bartenders and you can get some good priced drinks with little or no pressure from the girls.

DG is a place I like to go and watch some of the games, and with Football season coming up it is a ton of fun! I was even thinking of pushing my trip back to Sept. Just so I can see the games out there and bet on a few as well.

Overall, TJ may not be the best mongering spot from what I hear, but for me it is perfect as it fits all my needs. (Love the look of the women, the food, the language, the location and the atmosphere)

I thought I read somewhere here in another report that you could, but maybe I'm wrong. Remember, I'm the Tijuana noob here LOL! Sorry if this (or anything else) in my reports is a bit of misinformation, and I take no offense at being corrected. We want to be conveying accurate information to anybody interested in visiting Tijuana.

Well said, there is no point in giving those guys headaches.

If you are an occassional Tijuana monger, just wait out the lines and don't worry about it. If you go more frequently, the sentri is worth having. If you don't live in an area where sentri is easily available, just get the Global Entry and you get the sentri benefits and won't need to wait in long airport security lines any longer.

    Room charges

I forgot to mention about room rates. That's important because in addition to paying the girl you have to pay for the room. I used Cascadas and the hotels associated with Adelita and Tropical Bar. All were fine and clean enough to hump in. To be honest, I don't remember the exact prices for each one, but I don't recall ever paying more than $14.00 for a 30 minute session. Remember to calculate the room charges into your budget when planning to monger in Tijuana. I had the HK Club VIP card but didn't realize that I could take girls from Tropical Bar and Adelita to Hotel Cascadas too. I thought Cascadas was only for HK Club girls and street tutes. Not only that, but I went with some girls who were on only their first or second day, and they didn't even know which hotels were associated with the puta bars they were working in! That led to some confusion at times when we were ready to go arriba and there they were asking the door man where they should go. And hell I didn't know because I was a Tijuana noob!

    Coming to America

Crossing the border back into the USA was easy and worry free. As it turns out, there was no reason for me to be concerned about long lines. On a Sunday morning around 7 am I took a taxi from the Ticuan to the border for $7.00. He tried to get me really close to the building, but they had blocked off the street that he wanted to take for bus use only. So basically, I had to walk from the point where the lines would start all the way to the building. It wasn't too bad a jog though considering there was nobody in my line, which was the sentri line. There was a long line for the general public, although not as long as the line that was there on Wednesday afternoon when I came in. Then there was the ready line that was relatively short compared to the general public line.

I have no idea what it means to be "ready" since that wasn't my line. The ready line and the sentri line start out as one, but then at one point they separate. What will happen though is that people standing in the ready line will block the path for the sentri line. I stopped at first and even asked the guy in front of me if we were standing in the sentri line. He said yes, but his answer was wrong, and I figured it out after a few seconds and started to move past the people blocking my way. Don't be shy and just start working your way through the crowd. If people don't want to get bumped then they should get their asses out of the way and stand single file in their line! What I did was just say "disculpe" and start pushing my way through, and people would get out of the way.

After I got past the "ready" people it was smooth sailing all the way. Before entering the building an official asked me if I had sentri, and I showed him my documents. I entered the building and kept right on moving past people standing in the general public line and the ready line. Eventually I saw a kiosk, and beyond that an officer waiting in a booth. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to use the kiosk or what, so I just approached the officer in the booth with my passport and sentri card. He asked why I had been in Tijuana and where I was going. He also asked if I'd had a good time LOL! I gave straightforward answers to his questions, there was a little more small talk, and then he handed me my docs back without stamping anything. After that, there was a conveyor belt that everybody had to put their bags on to get x-rayed. And that was it! I purchased my ticket for the trolley and headed back to the City College Station where I caught the 992 city bus to the airport.

The hardest part of the whole journey back across the border was that the taxi's way was blocked due to road closures to support some morning long distance run or something that was going on in town. All you guys bitching and moaning and complaining to or about Customs & Border Patrol about the long lines should just quit it. Those guys are just doing their jobs. With sentri it took me only minutes to cross back into the United States. Invest some time and money to get sentri yourselves and voila! Your long waits in massively long lines go poof! And are no more!

A good explanation of the difference between walkers and paraditas but it's worth noting that NONE of the walkers have health cards. That's why they have to keep moving and bribe the police because it's illegal to work without a health card.
