Never been to cueva but I have a coworker who swears by that place. He has several "novias" over there who he loves to spoil with his well accumulated pension hehe. I always advise him to ease up on how much he gives these girls but he says they reciprocate well beyond imagination. He says he prefers going over there because he has never liked the ambiance of the zona and prefers places that are more laid back.

Coincidentally, also never been to Marabu but I know of a guy who recently knocked up a girl that works over there. They were actually going to have the baby and move in together, but the girl ultimately decided to have an abortion due to their constant fighting and bickering. He was not able to look the other way on a couple of issues due to her past so she decided having the baby would only make things worse when she was hoping it would have the opposite effect.

La Gloria bar probably comes closest to the feel of the old Tropical bar. I also saw bar sinaloense mentioned. I tried going in there during the week recently, but dead dead dead. I was there once before on a weekend night and really enjoyed that place. For sure the only gringo in the whole place.

Also wanted to check out Bar Marabu but the GF said that place is way to dangerous for an elderly white dude. But I don't believe her she also tells me not to take the rutas " muy pelegroso" . But I take them all the time with no issues.

Any time Bax you want to go to Marabu, I'm in. I stayed at Hotel Cucapa across the street once to meet a few escorts but never made it into Marabu. It's really a good setup because you have Hotel Cucapa, right next to it is a Soriana so you can get whatever you need, and Marabu is across the street. The area even at night seemed pretty tranquilo to me.

That's what I'm hoping to experience this time, the locals scene where I am probably the only American in there (though I'm dual Mexican and American citizen). Yes, I'll do some zona norte because I'm there for almost two weeks. However, I want to experience some more of locals environment too.

So the goal is to go to Cueva (which Ive been to before), but also Siete de Copas and Bar Sinaloense among others.

I hit up Cueva a few weeks ago on a week day late aftermoon. Not to busy. As a zona regular it was a nice change to get out of the zona for a bit. Several months ago I hit up siete de copa with the GF. Kind of an interesting place for date night. There was dancing and some conventional entertainment. And an occasional strip show. A huge place and I did notice some hookers sprinkled in but not many. I was there on weekend nights and strangely it did seem more like a nightclub than a hooker bar.

I thought they had the feel of the old Tropical Bar. Guys addicted to HK will be disappointed.

If you speak Spanish a popular place is "Las Pulgas" disco (disco, bar only no prostitution) opposite the Jai Alai Palace on Av. Revolution. Hong Kong, Chicago and Adelita are popular clubs for non-Spanish speakers.

I'm a veteran to Tijuana and will be there later this month for 2 weeks. Any ideas or intel on clubs outside the zona? I like Cueva del Peludo and am also planning on checking out Siete de Copas. Any info on these places? The board here is a little bare. Any other places that you go where regular Mexicans are? I'm trying to find some new places to visit and review.
