Did they take your payment last summer? That was the peak of coVid. Federal employees were working at home. They likely lost your application.

Not sure about SENTRI, but I applied for Global entry, got conditional approval in 3 weeks, had an interview lined up in San Ysidro in 2 weeks and got the card. A wingman applied for SENTRI, changes to GLOBAL ENTRY, got approval and an interview at LAX all within 1 week, with the card mailed to him the next week.

Print out your proof of payment and write to them with a new application. But I can tell you the federal government agencies are so far behind with their normal business that lots of things got messed up.

They did take my payment last July, I checked my status online. It said status was under review. Also what did your wingman have to do to get his money back from is Sentri application? Did he just change the application? Was it just as simple as filling out a brand new Global Entry application? Can I have both?

Little off topic but I read today that Eli Lilly has a breakthrough cure for obesity. People are losing over 20% of their body weight. 50 pounds of weight loss. This is a real game changer for us older mongers that gained a lot of weight. Here is the article. Yea when I used to visit every few months it didn't matter cab it is. Now I'm moving to SD and ill be a weekly monger I need to shave the extra expenses.

One mildly irritating thing about the vans is they don't leave the border until they fill up so there can sometimes be a bit of a wait. From what I can tell, the vast majority of times those vans fill up pretty quickly but last Wednesday night, which is probably an off-peak time, it took 10-15 minutes or so for the van to fill up. Not a big deal but would just be aware that the vans don't always fill up that quickly.

The 10 peso or 75 cent bus which somw drivers will ask for full dollar is generally white. And there's a guy letting people on saying where it is going. Its a sprinter sized van. Just make sure its Centro. You pay when you get off. Your stop will be called Madero. Thats a block before revilucion. If you miss the stop it doesn't matter because sometimes they stop on revolucion anyway, and most or all people get off on the block after revolucion. Thats even quicker walk to Hong Kong probably but maybe more dangerous in the area closer to the alley. If your surrounded by Mexicans doing their routine you won't get robbed. You can catch this van to border until evenings too. But he seems not allowed to stop in street to pick people up from Hong Kong area. So you have to walk up which is walking south maybe 3 blocks. When going to the border the stop is at a corner with a 711. When he drops you off for the border you still need to walk about 800 to 1000 feet to see the border line. He won't announce he's at the border.

If I don't have peso coins as change, I pretty much always give the driver $1 (as opposed to 75 cents) as it's much more convenient anyway. I'm one of the cheapest people you'll ever meet but that 25 cents isn't a big deal and the driver would probably appreciate the little bit of extra change more than I would LOL. You're right, there probably are 1-2 stops other than the Revolucion one that are a (slightly) shorter walk to Zona Norte but I'm very comfortable walking on Revolucion at any time of day, even well past midnight, as it's a tourist drag and there are usually a shitload of other people around. Those other streets nearby I'm a lot less knowledgeable about so not nearly as comfortable unless I happen to be walking during the day, though during the day I'm more likely to just hike the 1+ mile from the border to Zona Norte anyway as I enjoy that walk.

I printed out the my FMM form today. I took it with me and Mexican immigration did not stop and ask me to show. I am wornding if anyone has any problems with the Printed FMM form and Mexican immigration. I am wondering if they will simply say it is not valid make me pay the $35 fee.

I think you should be fine based on my (limited) experience. I've never been forced to pay the fee after showing a printed FMM and valid passport. The Wednesday night before last, I was stopped by someone who appeared to be a fairly new (and young) customs official who initially did ask me to pay a $35 fee even with my printed FMM. But after briefly explaining that I've crossed numerous times in the past without having to pay and that I'd only be visiting Tijuana for a few days he let me go without me having to pay anything. Didn't have to argue with the guy or anything like that. For the rest of that week I crossed the border back to my hotel in San Diego and back to Tijuana again with my printed FMM and passport 3 more times with zero issues, I think you should be fine, though it seems that fees, whether or not you get stopped, whether your FMM actually gets stamped, etc. All varies based on the official you go through, day / time of the week, etc.

Ok the white sprinter van to the left after getting out of the revolving gate by the vendors- over Puente El Chaparral - south on Av. Francisco I. Madero - west on Carrillo Puerto why O Tercera. I'll use Revolution where the cops and people are and cut down Primera at the arch instead unless it's daylight out. Some areas of COnstitution are sketchy like you said. Or be left off at Primera and walk to the arch at least during the day.

Ok I mapped it out, that's near the Dominos and Burger King. It's also two blocks from the Carls Jr that has the Red vans to go to the Grand.
