I suggest taxi or Uber anytime after sunset. I got hit up when I was trying to park at a taco shop off Cuahtemoc and the policia didn't hassle me much since I don't speak Spanish and I just showed them a 500 and 200 peso note. You need to stop giving in to these dickheads. He pulled you over, it's up to him to speak English if you don't speak Spanish. I always play like I don't understand. It tends to throw them off of their game. You never offer money. You wait until they ask. You never allow them to touch your money, you hold your money in your hand. The foregoing is all predicated on the assumption that you did nothing wrong. BTW, carrying 2 wallets is useless if he decides to search you. If they suspect something, or just want to intimidate you, they'll make you take off your shoes and they'll check your socks. Yes, I have personal experience.

I don't want this to devolve into a corona argument, but no, I don't think they will go back to the way they were doing business early during COVID. It would take a government mandate to get them to do that again. I don't think any government official is actually looking at the infection rates and making decisions based on them. Instead, it seems like they are looking at hospitalization and death rates.

It's more likely that you get a wave of this thing sweep the zona, and HK will be very slow / dead just because so many of the girls and staff will be out sick with it for a week when they get it.

Because they don't need to make $350 a night like non locals who want to build a $3,000 to $10,000 savings and than take off to their tiny town in Southern mexixo and relax for 3 months. Ideally its good to ask for the sez price before you buy a drink if you went all the way to Tijuana to bang chick's. Cause you can easily spend 90 on her drinks and tips before sex question comes up. The local girls, not paying for a hotel to rent, not flying into Tijuana, not eating out 3 times a day, these local girls can come to bars, make $100 in eight hours no problem without sex. I know just paying them off is easy but you are just giving into the corruption. Just let them give you a ticket and go pay it. Chances are they will just let you go. In my many years of driving in Mexico and especially when I lived there I had paid off one cop when I was young and just wanted to move on. The 2 times in Tijuana I was written a ticket and paid it off. A few other times was pulled over and since I wasn't scared or offer money they let me go. For me I usually got pulled over during the day so I don't think time matters.

I've gotten lucky, to be honest, with this. I don't drive around anywhere near La Zona, and cut across Tijuana to grab the Libre down to Rosarito and Ensenada.

I always stay at hotels right off Paseo de Los Heroes, or Sanchez Tovada and then catch an Uber or Taxi to the Zona when I want to go have some fun. Last time I went, it was like $2.50 to take an Uber from the Taco Stand just up the block from Mr. Pampas.

My buddies that do multi-day trips to HK drive in, but only take $40 in cash each in case they get hit with a shakedown. They usually cross fairly early in the morning, so they haven't had any issue, but they know it's a matter of time before they get pulled over for something.

Getting to Tijuana ($60 for gas, 24 per day x 3 days = $72 for parking)

You can cross on foot at Otay and secure parking there is only $10 Sun-Thu. The price of an Uber from there to Hotel Ticuan is reasonable; yesterday it only cost me $6. 72.

Mon to Thurs at Tijuana.

Getting to Tijuana ($60 for gas, 24 per day x 3 days = $72 for parking) - I drove from LA, parked at the border and walked across. I was expecting $10 per day but was surprised to see it was $8 for 8 hours so I would not recommend this option if you are staying overnight. Next time I will use public transit to get to the border or park directly at the hotel.

Hotel Ticuan ($70 per night in chase points) - Close to Zona Norte while maintaining plausible deniability, free breakfast, gym and sauna, no hassle chica visits, walking distance to La Justina. I've only stayed here in Tijuana and had a reason to go anywhere else.

Escorts (4 chicas x 1 hour each = $550) - I usually book 4-5 per trip and have historically had 10/10 service but had some bait and switch and mechanical service this time, thinking about mixing it up more next trip.

Hong Kong (2 bangs + 2 rooms + 3 VIP dances + drinks + fichas + tips = $418) - Not as favorable pricewise since MSOG is not the default, but I do enjoy (a) the consistent selection of jaw-droppingly gorgeous slutty women at any time of day (b) flirting and (c) getting to sample the goods before I buy.
