Perhaps the lead singer used to visit Zona Norte in the 70's. Haha.

Of course we are concerned. My advice is to be vaccinated twice plus a booster and wear an N95 mask. According to the last Tijuana regulation, all employees working in the city of Tijuana must be vaccinated. So all the chicas, waiters, staff in Hong Kong are now vaccinated. For example Omicron infections in South Africa began on December 1 and now the infections decrease quickly and it ends around February 1. So in Tijuana Omicron infections started on January 1, it should end around March 1. (After 2 months).

Actually I don't event think they check tests 100%. In November I flew with British Airways London-Dallas, never even asked for my negative test. A month later in December I flew American Airlines Frankfurt-Dallas, again no one even asked for my negative test. Just like old time. Checked in on app, and went and boarded my flight.

Ride Like the Wind
Indeed it was something like that Gregyyr:
Speaking about his inspiration for the outlaw theme in this song, Cross told us: "I grew up with a lot of cowboy movies. Serials and stuff, like The Lone Ranger and these cowboy serials where they were always chasing the bad guy. And I lived in San Antonio near Mexico, so there was always this anarchistic allure about if you could get to Mexico, you could escape the authority. Also, Mexico was a place where you could go down there and drink and do all this debauchery that as a kid, you think sounds really cool. So getting to the border in Mexico was a fascinating thing to me. ".

I loved his song Sailing also!

Because they don't need to make $350 a night like non locals who want to build a $3,000 to $10,000 savings and than take off to their tiny town in Southern mexixo and relax for 3 months. Ideally its good to ask for the sez price before you buy a drink if you went all the way to Tijuana to bang chick's. Cause you can easily spend 90 on her drinks and tips before sex question comes up. The local girls, not paying for a hotel to rent, not flying into Tijuana, not eating out 3 times a day, these local girls can come to bars, make $100 in eight hours no problem without sex. Even if they need to tip out $30, $40 and make $60, they are doing well. They rent houses for $300 $400 a month if they didn't already buy one with cash.
I think that this is a remarkably accurate assessment of the two types of chicas we generally encounter. Good insight.

I am unfamiliar with the details of your stop, but I would never offer cash upon getting pulled over without being threatened and solicitated for it. The reason is that I don't want to train the cops to shake me down in the future. I could envision a case where they memorize my face or my car or my plates, and shake me down every time they see me in the future. And even if a Tijuana cop started out straight, I cannot see him turning down my easy cash if I offer to donate it to him without him ever asking for it. I do have 2 wallets, my real wallet I hide in the car before I cross the border. They would have to tear my fucking car apart to find it. The other my Tijuana wallet that has only my ID, a little cash, and a lot of HK coupons.

Yes and no? I'm booster vaccinated and had the Covid. Several males in my family also had the Covid and they had no complications other than typical flu symptoms, and we are genetically similar. I also reacted mildly to all three vaccinations (I only got a sore arm). So my chances of complications are low. But I have a genuine concern for the safety of the chicas.
I think that the current spike in Covid is also caused by the Omicron rather than the Delta. The Omicron is several times more infectious. Yet several times less lethal. So what I foresee is a huge spike in the Omicron that hits Tijuana like a single tidal wave. And thereafter Tijuana will have relatively Herd Immunity, at least from the Omicron string. The Omicron have been in San Diego since late December. So I am guessing that herd immunity for Tijuana will be achieved about the 3rd or 4th week of January, the most vulnerable now being the chicas returning from vacation. The chicas that stayed in Tijuana during the holidays probably already carries the Omicron.

The clubs are pretty much back to the same level as before CoVid.
HK has over a hundred girls every weekend, but fewer are taken to the hotel lately. They may not all comeback until mid Feb.
Adelita has a few new spinners, probably imported from Venezuela and Guatemala, worth checking out.
Chicago had about 20 girls last weekend, on stages and in hot tub. Chicago has been trying hard.

You need to stop giving in to these dickheads. He pulled you over, it's up to him to speak English if you don't speak Spanish. I always play like I don't understand. It tends to throw them off of their game. You never offer money. You wait until they ask. You never allow them to touch your money, you hold your money in your hand. The foregoing is all predicated on the assumption that you did nothing wrong. BTW, carrying 2 wallets is useless if he decides to search you. If they suspect something, or just want to intimidate you, they'll make you take off your shoes and they'll check your socks. Yes, I have personal experience.

I don't want this to devolve into a corona argument, but no, I don't think they will go back to the way they were doing business early during COVID. It would take a government mandate to get them to do that again. I don't think any government official is actually looking at the infection rates and making decisions based on them. Instead, it seems like they are looking at hospitalization and death rates.
It's more likely that you get a wave of this thing sweep the zona, and HK will be very slow / dead just because so many of the girls and staff will be out sick with it for a week when they get it.

Nice, concise report and fairly accurate assessments of the options in Tijuana.
I was in HK last night Thursday with a couple bros. The club was sparse. About 50 guys and 50 girls were in the club, a few new hot ones. A couple regular guys are hanging out in HK again.
Etel was new in HK, pretty face with glasses and 2 blonde pony tails, looking cute and innocent like this girl in the pic. Her body is fully developed, beautiful with sexy shapes and curves, perfect natural global boobs, long shapely legs, perfect light skin, no tats, no baby damages, about 5'6 120 Lbs, one of the most beautiful girls in HK in a few years. She was dancing on the bar and stripping on stage.
I bought her a ficha. As soon as she sat down she had to leave to strip on stage. She looked like a pro stripper with sexy and sensuous moves. She could not just start her stripping job in HK without prior experiences. After her routine she went back drinking with me, her skin was slightly sweaty. She said a Tijuana native, lives with her BF and daughter. BF lost his job last year. They were trying to stretch out their little saving but finally ran out of money for rent and food, so she had to go to work. Other jobs she could find did not cover 25% of her family costs of living in Tijuana. She said she could make in 1 night on weekend as much as she would make for the whole month working in a store. She was drinking that fake pink cocktail drink pretty fast. She would not let me kiss her lips. When asked about arriba, she said $150. I asked her to confirm, she repeated the $150 price without flinching. When I showed my surprise expression, she quietly drank up the drink, said thank you, then went away..

KB,
I know just paying them off is easy but you are just giving into the corruption. Just let them give you a ticket and go pay it. Chances are they will just let you go. In my many years of driving in Mexico and especially when I lived there I had paid off one cop when I was young and just wanted to move on. The 2 times in Tijuana I was written a ticket and paid it off. A few other times was pulled over and since I wasn't scared or offer money they let me go. For me I usually got pulled over during the day so I don't think time matters.

I always stay at hotels right off Paseo de Los Heroes, or Sanchez Tovada and then catch an Uber or Taxi to the Zona when I want to go have some fun. Last time I went, it was like $2.50 to take an Uber from the Taco Stand just up the block from Mr. Pampas.
My buddies that do multi-day trips to HK drive in, but only take $40 in cash each in case they get hit with a shakedown. They usually cross fairly early in the morning, so they haven't had any issue, but they know it's a matter of time before they get pulled over for something.
