Jinx gave good advise to ignore all approaching street people. They are annoying, cannot and will not help you with anything, but potentially can cause big problems.

I never even acknowledge any touts or beggars on the streets. If you give them money, they would just hang out, begging on the street in their filthy clothes, following you around and insisting until they get your money to immediately buy a load of drugs. If they need food, there are charities in Tijuana who give them food everyday. If they want money, they should contact AMLO after he begs for some crumbs from his billionaires ex defense and security ministers.

They have to solve their own problems of poverty, diseases, corruption and abuses by their own government officials. Only stupid losers would makes someone else's problems their own!

LE Conteiner is the best place to pick up civies. It's a short $40 mx Uber ride from the Zona located across from Costco in Zona Rio. Cheap too, only $150 mx for a bucket of 12 domestic beers. Packed with young civies in tight outfits. If you want to go more upscale, there is Alebrije, which is in Pueblo Amigo plaza. This is more like a nightclub atmosphere with bottle service prevalent. Then on Revolucion you can try El Copeo and Las Pulgas. They both have cheap beers $15 mx. Copeo is for the younger crowd. Las Pulgas is gigantic with separate "salons" featuring different types on music. There is often a live band on weekends in one of the salons. You'll see lots of middle aged folks along with younger patrons too. Then there is Calle 6 ta which intersects Revolucion. Lots of little bars but none very appealing. Lots of little dives. But overall I'd definitely recommend LE Conteiner. I drive past all the time and they are definitely open, not sure what time they close now though.

Not everybody in these clubs is going to be thrilled to see you if you don't look Mexican. I was sitting with a friend at a tourist looking bar, not dumpy dark hole in the wall, on revolution watching a rock band having a beer and the singer looks at me between songs and is saying stuff I can't follow. My friend grabs me to go outside leave immediately as she's local and he was making fun of me every which way he could. Obviously if you did that in the states, it would lead to a fight in most cases. I don't know how I would of reacted if I had known what he was saying. Its probably better I didn't.

OK. When you said Constitucion I thought you wanted to troll those dive bars for "normal" women.

You'll need to visit Revolucion and calle sexta on a weekend. I also understand Las Pulgas is open, but I can't confirm that. You'll need decent Spanish, and a wingman would be very helpful as the chicas tend to travel in packs.

When I check the BWT app it always less than 10 min for the Ready Lane. Is that not true.

BWT is absolute garbage now. Before, they would be off by about 100%. Whatever it said, you would double it. Now, it's completely useless. It often says SY is closed when it isn't. And sometimes it'll say SY 80 minutes, Otay 10 min, which no way could be true.

Planning a trip soon. Thinking of staying at Hotel Lucerna for a bit. Anyone ever stay there? Is it girl friendly? And think I can get by with just English?

I stayed at Ticuan last time and am thinking of switching it up.

Lucerna is very anti-puta. It's the last hotel you want to book if you plan on inviting putas. There's ways to get around it, such as the puta walking in with a suitcase, looking like a legitimate traveler. But if they suspect a puta, they will deny her entrance.

The past few months border closing gets extended around the 15th. Before the 21st expiration of the border closure each month.

Today we are at end of Oct 15 and the border is still set to open end of Oct 21.

No bro not at all. The chick was not a normal door girl. She was one of the drug addicts who lurks around the zona trying to talk to guys. And her "friends" were some thug druggie looking types, like 2 or 3 guys. And there were almost no cops in the zona at that time. Yes for a second I felt a close enough threat that I was ready in case I had to defend myself.

Thanks for the clarification. I try my damnedest to avoid any interaction with those types. If they are on the west side of the street I walk on the east side. Some years ago I was eating from a bottle of mixed nuts in a park in Medellin. A female drug addict sat next to me on the bench and requested some nuts. I never refuse anyone food so I tilted the bottle towards her expecting that she would cup her hands to receive a handful; instead she pulls out a plastic bag to receive my offering. I refused her and she socked me one square on the chin and ran off. That girl packed quite a wallop. Learnt my lesson. Leave those people alone.

Please let me clarify. The "friends" of the girl were very shady looking males. And the chick didn't even necessarily look like a puta. I got the full vibe that these people were looking to "get" somebody, and yes my natural instinct kicked in self defense mode because my spidey senses definitely felt a threat. And at that time there was very little police presence in the zona.


Moral of the story, any "normal girls" hanging around the zona are probably up to no good and it's best to avoid them.

Now with that being said... there actually are more than a few civvies many of them American chicks who hit the Zona norte bars just to party. They're usually with guys but it's not uncommon to see civvie women at the bars. I was in Chicago's one time and there was a group there of 5 girls and 2 guys. They were all young preppy type Mexicans and one of the girls was staring at me giving me the vibe that she wanted me to approach her. But I was too busy with puta booty all in my face I didn't get a chance to talk to her. Maybe some of the tropical/rizos regulars might have seen the group of fat hispanic chicks that regularly come down from San Diego to party. I've seen them on a few occasions. Then the action moves upstairs to their associated hotels. Masks are required at some clubs / hotels to enter but once inside they don't enforce mask-wearing. There's no taped off tables or social distancing whatsoever. Was at Tropical. Recently a poster reported that Tropical updated their decor with new tables, chairs, etc. I suspect that monger may be fond of hallucinogens because everything is exactly the same as it was pre-covid. Same tables, same chairs, same decor, same everything.

Haven't been there since it reopened. I don't like the merger with LC though. Didn't hit AB either but I was there last week the day after it reopened. It was exactly like how it was pre-covid except the meseros were wearing masks.

One thing I noticed is that the clubs kept their higher prices. Beers at TB were $3 instead of $2. CC they were $4 instead of $3, and fichas $9. AB the beers were $3. 75. Not sure if CC can compete offering the same prices as HK. Remember it wasn't too long ago that their touts were at LG corner begging mongers to visit and offering completely free beers. It may be a prime excuse for HK to raise their prices by $1 too. Not looking forward to that.
