I have dated several girls from La Zona Norte. I would say approximately 95% of them are nothing but parasite cockroaches, out for one thing. A HUGE negative is if go on a pensionado visa in Colombia you get taxed nearly 40% on GLOBAL income!! I just learned that this week. Phuck that ain't paying them 40% on any of my take. Is why some people travel like nomads which I don't care to do. MEX looking better in that aspect. Colombia just fine if have the resources but after thinking through GLOBAL income tax bullshit this week I proly not going there long term.

The rate is 40% minus your US Tax rates, and a bunch of stuff is excluded, plus there's a bunch of deductions. It's just like everyone else's tax code. Super out of date, complex, and not anywhere as bad (relatively speaking) as everyone initially thinks.

Next time you're down there, take an afternoon and talk to an immigration and tax attorney there, if you're ever curious about staying there semi-permanently.

Pre-COVID, I was planning on retiring to Mexico or South America, and the time I spent talking to a Tax Attorney in Guadalajara was some of the best money I've spent. I completely intend to talk to both an Immigration and Tax attorney next time I'm in Bogota, because Colombia is very high on my semi / retirement list.

What would happen when you get sick? Colombia looks like a very poor country, with very poor public services. Do you know enough about their healthcare system, health insurance and the quality of care they can deliver there? Do you think when you have heart attacks or strokes, they can do competent jobs to save your life? A friend just had a triple heart bypass in the US, the bills totaled over $1.2 Mil. You think Colombia will spend that much on you, or even has competent medical providers who can do it?

In contrary, Tijuana is right next to San Diego with its good healthcare system and many medical facilities staffed with competent professionals. If you are stricken by illness, you can walk, crawl or hire some guys to push your wheelchair across CBP checkpoint and dial 911. An ambulance will be happy to run over quickly, pick you up and deliver you to the right medical facilities, medical care givers will do everything available, including some very expensive procedures, so they can bill your insurance or Medicare. Isn't that sweet?

You can find decent 2-bedroom apartments in clean, safe areas near the border pretty cheap. Partner up with another guy so you can look out for each other in emergencies. By my estimation you would have plenty money left from your pension every month to spoil your bar sweethearts to death.

Hope to see you alive in Tijuana than shriveling to death in Colombia. I am not going to comment on the obese, pear-shaped, freakish putas with dead fish pussies in P Lleras, Club La Isla, new Life casa de citas ect who will likely shock you and give you a major heart attack the first week hehe.

I think it's a risk wherever you go. MEX ain't rich either and only small percent of ICU beds per the population. I would not go bare only depending on whichever country's public healthcare system and would most likely still pay for catastrophic plan. Luckily at age 60 I receive health insurance from the military. For everyone under medicare at age 65 can still qualify for supplemental if living outside USA but need have established residence in USA.

Went to Colombia beginning of Dec.

Just got back from 3 weeks in Colombia, Panama, Mexico City, went to HK Wednesday night 7 PM, sat in the middle of the club drinking, watching the strip show, flirting with girls, had around me over 200 sweet, smiling, healthy young girls, lots of new ones, pretty faces, beautiful bodies, beauty-pageant contestant quality, smiling, talking, flirting, seducing, trying to get me to the hotel.
