According to the guy at PedEast (I took the Crazy Train down this time) PedWest is indeed open for weekdays 6-14 h, and not this Monday that's a Federal Holiday.

Yeah the Tijuana papers had been talking about it most of the week, I guess the first hours it was opened on Monday only about20 people went thru so I guess the word didn't get out to well.

I think that agent is confused and gave you bad info. The border doesn't close for holidays and if it was to be closed they would notify the public. Also PedWest is one of the points for those seeking asylum to come to with that new border app.

If we allowed big pharma to make cocaine heroin and make pot legal at the federal level, would the drug cartels collapse and be a fraction of what they are today. What do you think would happen on the Mexico side.

That's the big question on the legalization of it. Will it help or make it worse. If it's very expensive the Cartels I'm sure will still just produce it to sell to those that can't pay for the legal stuff. I mean marijuana is legal in California but with the high taxes on it many people still buy it on the street. So California tried lowering taxes to get more business.

For people that grew up in San Diego or LOS Angeles, what the hell happened to these cities in the last 40 years that cars and houses are constantly being broken into. People are so brazen to just pull up a truck in the driveway and clean up. Doesn't anyone get shot breaking into houses. Do homeowners in California not have guns.

Well I've only heard of the problem getting worse over the last few years and it corresponding to the amount if homeless people. This pertains to the cars, I don't hear so many reports about homes but with people putting so much personal information on Facebook it's easy to figure out who's not going to be in town for some time. You could also question if people that stay at an Airbnb could later go back to rob the place knowing that nobody actually lives there and the neighbors are use to seeing different people come and go.

Wouldn't the Duty free in Mexico be the cheapest?

Looking into doing monthly stays at a nice hotel at some point. Tax for something like the Grand Hotel was like $425 US. I don't think the Ticuan quoted me any tax on top of the daily rates. Could this be correct? Do some hotels not charge a hotel tax to foreign visitors?

Anyone with experience? Knock the tax off the price and it might work but an extra $425 on top of it is brutal.

Since the tax is included in the price of things in Mexico I wonder if Ticuans price includes the tax and maybe if you went online it's different. Or they add the tax when you pay your bill. I would double check to make sure what the exact final price is.

Go to 5th street and Revolucion. The stand that sells tobacco also sells cartons. He has been there for years.

CBP put out the info last week stating it, so unless something has changed without them telling anyone it's suppose to open at 6 am On January 9th. As I write this it's 7:30 am on January 9th and the border wait site I use still shows PedWest as pending. It has PedEast pedestrian line at only 5 minute wait.

Criminals are kind of uncooperative with the time. They tend to lay in wait and break in when you are not home. Then they sack the house for guns because it is so easy to move them.
