Posts: 574Long day flying and messing around in San Diego. Took a $6 day pass on trolley to bridge.
Entering Mexico, stopped to check my person / wallet and a group of 20 people passed me to the start of line. Didn't think that would be a big deal, until I saw one agent working the entrance gradually allowing people in what seemed to take forever.
He did give me my free 7 day permit, hope it holds up for upcoming flight Monday.
Needed to drop off luggage at Motel Reno somewhat south of Centro.
Once across, was afraid to hail Uber, so instead rode a $1 communal minivan ride to Centro, ordered Uber from there and got to motel. It was 12:45 am, was sleep deprived but figured could salvage one street girl.
Rode back to ZN, and I was definitely rusty. Forgot unlike in MTY, the Tijuana girls everything is itemized. Nude is extra, BJ is extra, and none of them offered DATY. Was not in mood to be pressured by clubs in tired state.
Found one girl 600 p for BJ and mish, 100 p for house. Girl was cold fish.
Sunday, Newly made East Border entrance is temp closed, eventually walked to default West Border (should've ridden cab, didn't know about closure).
BUT at 10 am the line was non-existent took all of 10 minutes to get thru.
On trolley back to San Diego writing this. Hoping late afternoon bears better. Vaguely remember Sunday afternoons have better negotiating chances than the stonewalled set pricing on Saturday nights. Also tempted to see if La Cueva Bar is real deal.
Anyone for / need wingman Sunday Sept 5 let me know.

Posts: 6523Army patrols Sat night Sept 4
Saturday night there were no policia patrol cars around La Zona Norte, but 2 pick up trucks each with 10 soldiers in full battle fatigues, steel helmets, armed with auto rifles, knives, grenades, looking like fierce warriors, a 5. 56 mm Squad Auto Weapon poised on top of the cab pointing straight ahead. They kept driving around and around the bar block looking very threatening. Meanwhile street dealers were in the alley and Constitucion yelling sales calls "cuanto, cuanto."
The soldiers were probably under orders to patrol how many hours, how many miles a day, so they just picked the best routes with the best views of half naked street putas to drool over. They were just out showing force obviously with no aim to attack the violent cartels or curbing drugs trade. It looked comical like a circus.
I feel sorry for these poor young soldiers working hard for pennies. One time en route to Ensenada a group of them were standing in the intense heat of midday sun in full battle fatigues, checking cars, sweating like pigs. I gave them a couple cans of cold Coke and they were grateful. Damn hard life. Some trained elite soldiers just desert and went over to work for the cartels, more money, less work, hanging out in the barrios in the shade all day, more tequila, drugs and pussies at night, feeling good about poisoning Gringos and Gringas with drugs, cheered on by left-leaning pols and their acolytes.
It's hard for the government to win this war. It will need bigger trucks and truck loads more pesos.

Posts: 2420Saturday night, security was extremely heavy for some reason. Mex National guards dismounted and made foot patrols to a couple of business. Wtf? Saw them again in La Perla but they were only ordering out. LOL. Then crossing back in the Sentri line, CPB asked me to pop the trunk. But this time, he really took his time and searched under all of my shit. I thought he was going to climb into the trunk and look for ISIS.

Posts: 2569Personally parking near the border usually not a problem. A few years back my car was towed by the Goodwill. There is some gravel on other side of the street. The business owners put up these now parking tow away signs. They were trying to claim these signs were valid for a public street. They were also trying to claim that I was parked on private property. There was no marker to indicate where private property began. Was going to try and fight the tow. I went to city planning office and found out there was no clear indication property line was. The other problem is that you have to take the towing company to small claims court and prove they were wrong.

Posts: 6523Street parking ok except street sweeping days
Unless there are signs posted otherwise, parking is unlimited on residential streets except posted street sweeping days and hours. Tow trucks and cops usually follow sweepers and are just too happy to write tickets and tow cars to fatten the cities' coffers and towing companies. This happens a lot in towns near beaches and the border.
The streets off San Ysidro Blvd have some parking spaces, depending on days. Weekends are difficult. Watch posted signs carefully and don't park too close to stores as shop keepers may put nails in your tires or call tow trucks to do illegal tows.
The street along the rail road track has plenty of parking, but cars are broken into regularly.
Park and Ride and trolley lots sometimes have traffic cops put white chalk marks on tires of suspicious cars. After 24 hours, they may tow or issue parking tickets, $50 to $90 depending on cities. Some cities have procedures to contest parking tickets by mail. If you cause them a lot of work, they may dismiss the tickets.
Have you been able to park at trolley stations for more than 24 hours? My trip will prolly be for 2 nights? So def 24 hours +.

Posts: 2569Crossing into Mexico is not a issue especially. There is the potential long lines crossing back into the US on Sunday evenings from 3-9 pm however.

The equal pay for equal work canard has been around since I was a little kid. It's bullshit now, and it was bullshit then. If it were true, then 100% of men would be unemployed. If I could cut my labor costs by (insert percentage du jour here) across the board, I'd fire all the men and hire only women. The stockholders would be overjoyed. Unless, of course, I can convince my board of directors to keep the men, at the greater salaries, just to stick it to those women. Yeah, right. Tell that story walking, bub.
No, I don't think a woman should have an unassailable right to kill off a fetus whenever she feels like it. Unless she conceived via immaculate conception, there was a father involved and he's 50% of the equation. A couple is pregnant. She says she want to kill it, the guy has no say. OTOH, if she wants it, but the guy doesn't, she keeps it AND the guy is on the hook financially for 18 years, regardless of his wishes. You call this fair? You give women the ultimate power of life or death anytime from conception to after the child is born, and you've created some female Ubermensch. This is patently unfair to men, and shows a hatred of them. Women are not superior beings, they are one half of the whole.
Trump never grabbed any women. The point he was illustrating is one that many feminists (and apparently yourself) hate to admit, and too many soy boys can't comprehend. If you have shitloads of money, and some power, women absolutely throw themselves at you. You can grab them wherever and whenever you want and they're thrilled. This is one thing I've learned over the years. Even the die-hard feminists, if they're straight, love bad boys. Especially rich bad boys.
Now, Mr. Feminist, let's say you have a son who enrolls in college. Something happens. There's a party, perhaps. Maybe there's alcohol. Perhaps many students are in various stages of inebriation. Who knows? Then some female student goes to the dean of whichever department, and claims your son raped her. Maybe he did, maybe he never touched her, maybe there was consensual sex. Who knows? Then he gets hit with the complaint and brought up on "charges" of rape during the campus investigation. The charges may be (and often are) completely anonymous. He can't defend himself because he has no idea who is doing the complaining. The girl's story will be believed because she's female and women never lie about rape. The boy will be guilty until proven innocent, which is impossible. He'll be deprived of all due process, he may get banned from campus, he may have an entire career shot to hell. All of this in the name of feminism. If this were to happen to a relative of yours, would you still call yourself a feminist?
Let's look at bellwether Sweden. It's about as feminist as you can get. The running gag there (Swedish humor is an oxymoron, but still) when something odd happens, is "That's rape in Sweden. " A Swedish prosecutor no longer has to prove violence or coercion. Sex happened, the women says she didn't consent, bam. Rape. And women must be believed. A Swedish man is guilty of a felony if he pays for sex, but a women gets off scot free if she tries to sell sex. If a Swedish man travels abroad, perhaps to a country where such activity is perfectly legal, and pays for sex, he's committed a crime in Sweden and can be prosecuted upon his return to his home country. This is feminism and manifests a deep resentment, if not hatred, of men. That garbage about equal pay and my body, my choice, is bunk. And my body, my choice only applies to killing a baby, but not to Covid shots, that's for sure. So, I am not a feminist and proud of it.
