I bent a wheel on my P-car when I hit a deer a few months ago. Not much, just some at the outter lip.
I _imagine_ I can't find this service relatively cheap here in Tijuana while I am here. Anyone familiar with any shops?

Why not?
These are not done in some form of computer that can flag you?

In general I think Mexico is saying they want a better caliber of tourist than the low budget SSI crowd or Hippies that goes down with a few hundred dollars and slums it for a few months. People like that do nothing for the economy. They want people to get the right paperwork done and prove they can contribute to the country instead of leeching off it.
They have every right and reason to do it.

Much of Mexico's economy is through tourism; why would they make it more difficult to enter the country? Mexican border cities are going to lose some of their revenue stream if this is accurate.
I have not traveled further south than Ensenada in the past five years, but I am in Mexico monthly for a few days at a time. Once I have crossed the border (always the pedestrian crossings), I have never been asked for my visa. About 30 percent of the time they just waive me through. (I am clearly White, Middle European, so it isn't because they have mistaken me for a Mexican national.).

Posts: 57Interesting thing about a 6 month visa: I have a friend in Chiapas (he flew there). Border agents at the airport won't give those anymore. Only like 3 month visas now. Guess it's different at land borders?

Interesting Youtube video on how visas are changing in Mexico. (Gobto 3:33 minute mark in the video as the first part is just other stuff. Bla bla bla.).

I have a 6 month travel visa that expires in January so will see if I can renew easily.

In town thru the 14th, except for a stop in Ensenada 9-10th overnight.
There are always a few good reasons to visit. The SA hunt has been good, here are two new fresh ones, and I have 3-4 prior ones to always call up.
