This virus is so perfect in the way it can spread that I think that for it to be so perfect it must have been manufactured...

Main points why this is false:

1) The science is not good enough to make a bio weapon virus from scratch in the lab. Maybe someday, but not now.

2) The virus has 96% commonality with a common corona virus in bats. The method of zoonotic transmission to intermediate animals like pangolins or whatever is well know. The exact mechanism for the creation of this virus is not known yet, but for sure it is "natural".

3) Something called the "furin cleavage site" makes the virus gets weaker when it's cultured.

4) It's not a very bad virus. It isn't deadly enough! It only kills old people in nursing homes, fat diabetics, etc. If you were going to engineer something, you'd make it attack the young and strong. If you were going to engineer a virus, why not start with something much, much more deadly like SARS, MERS or Ebola and make it worse? SARS CoV-2 is simply not bad enough.

This is the conspiracy theory I could easily believe to be true. As Gault stated this virus is too perfect to be a mistake and I wouldn't put it past China to off a few K of their own to make it happen.

When I was a teenager, during the height of the Cold War, the Soviets had a bazillion more tanks stationed at their borders with Western Europe, larger ICBMs, etc. , etc. All we heard about was the vast might of the Soviet Army. Yet we found out later that they were essentially impotent. And still, despite their size, they don't even make the top 10 of world economies. They have nothing but oil to sell. Nobody wants Russian clothing, or cars, or computers. They are not the bogeyman. China, OTOH, is a serious threat.

I don't buy the manufactured theory. But I absolutely agree that Russia ceased to be a threat long ago. They have an economy about the size of Italy, IIRC. China is a serious threat, and what irritates me is that, due in no small part to local / state / federal governmental incompetence and outright greed, we've essentially handed over all our manufacturing to them, allowed their economy to expand at a dramatic rate, and then borrowed ourselves into oblivion (from those very Chinese) for social welfare projects.

I do not believe that one transaction where a customer bought a bat at a market in Wuhan China caused a planetary epidemic! China seems to have released this covid 19 virus from the Wuhan lab by accident or on purpose. Now only the vaccine can save us, and the vaccine is supposed to be ready even this year. Business seems to be about the same for the SG's from what I have seen lately.

Just my suspicion but I think the SGs are actually doing better than normal right now. That's all relative. But after spending a good amount of time in the zona, I believe business is booming for them. There were a ton of guys shopping the streets. More than I've ever seen. I attribute it to the bars being closed. But at various times throughout the days, I would see alternatively a ton of girls and then a below average number. Undoubtedly, those ST hotels were doing good business as well.

Just feels like, as crazy as it sounds, the demand side is fairly high. I'd also add prices have not plummeted. I would have assumed, with the added supply, prices drop. But I don't think that's occurred.

I didn't use a site. I spent 5 hours walking playas with the apartments being shown to me from a friend who looked at 100 of them due to her free time and interest in it I guess. And the apartment she rented was 300. Don't believe the posters on here that, flip out when I write info that upsets them. Some posters are either senile or like teenagers. Everybody who has info they didn't know about is a lying lunatic. A lot of them only know Tijuana from craigslist and utube and azule patio view.

You can't rent a decent apartment in playas for $300 usd. Impossible. Best you can hope for is a roach-infested 300 sq ft studio. Maybe you can find a decent place for $300 further inland, like Mirador or Lazaro Cardenas. Anything decent within 10 min walk to the beach is going to cost at least $600, but probably closer to $700-$800. Kind of funny how you go off on posters being lying lunatics. I just stone-cold busted you lying about knowing multiple seniors being forced to sell their homes and turn over the proceeds in a week. Which is impossible as well. So if you want to go off on posters being liars, well it would suit you well to quit lying yourself.

Just drove through the Zona 20 minutes ago. The SG's were shoulder-to-shoulder at LG corner. Rizo had their door open.

Not sure why but the LG corner is the busiest area right now. This past weekend was just unusual.

Rizo's doors were open. But there's no party. Two guys at the door making sure you had a room or reservation. Same with Cascadas front door. Jalos now has some barkers where the Chicago barkers normally stand. They said they had girls up there but I did not verify.

First time, long time. After months of not returning to Tijuana, I finally built up the courage to go for a short trip. I live in the SD area, drove to the border and parked in a paid lot per usual. I went during the week, but traffic wasn't bad and plenty of parking. Walked across, line was short to get in. They asked how long I'll be visiting, usual stuff. Uber driver's over there all wear masks and seem to be following guidelines. Didn't go to the ZN, just downtown. Most restaurants were open with outdoor seating and social distancing. Not much different other than bars being closed. Crossing back was just as easy. No line, asked what my nature of my visit; said Dentist appointment. They let me go right ahead. If anyone's having any doubts about the logistics of visiting Tijuana, it seems like its business as usual, at least when crossing on foot.

P.S. Exchange rate is pretty good, its a shade over 20:1.
